DEPENDENT/SPOUSE/CHILD OF

IRISH CITIZEN/ EU CITIZEN / WORK PERMIT HOLDER VISA CHECKLIST


Note: All documentation should be submitted in English or accompanied by an official translation.

1 Fully completed and signed online application form.

2 Original Passport valid for at least 12 months after the intended date of departure from Ireland following visits. Passport
must have sufficient space for a visa to be inserted, at least two empty pages are required. If your passport does not
comply with the above your application will be returned to you. A copy of all stamped or containing visas pages of your
passport is required.

3 You should submit all previous passports along with photocopyies of each page with stamps or visas. If you have been
refused a visa for any other country, details of this, preferably the original letter issued to you by the authorities of that
country, should be submitted. Concealment of other visa refusals will result in your Irish visa application being refused.

4 Two recent (not older than 6 months) photographs 35x45 in color, preferably biometric type with white background.

6 In addition to the signed summary application form, please also submit a signed letter of application:
1. outlining your reason for coming to Ireland,
2. giving details of any members of your family who are currently in Ireland, or any other EU State.
7 Marriage Certificate – evidence (apostilled document) that marriage has been registered in applicant’s country of
origin/residence (if any)
8 Birth Certificate for children under 21 years, letter of parental Consent (Where a child under the age of 18 is travelling
alone, the consent of both parents/guardians is required. If the child is travelling with one parent, the consent of the other
parent is required. Where only one parent has total custody and access rights, official evidence of this must be provided).

9 Evidence of how you will be supported financially - A detailed statement of your bank account covering a six-month period
immediately prior to your visa application, and showing sufficient funds to cover your costs, payslips.
10 Clear copy of spouse’s / parent’s passport, or other documentary evidence attesting to spouse's / parent’s Irish citizenship
/ EU citizenship, showing evidence of residency in country.
NOTE: If your Irish spouse is residing in Ireland, and you have not resided together since your marriage, whether your visa application is to visit or join
your spouse, in addition to the documentation listed above you MUST also submit the following:
o A full account of relationship history – when and where you met, evidence of this such as visas, entry/exit stamps on the passport of your Irish
spouse.

o Please note that for Immigration purposes it is not sufficient for a relationship to have developed solely over the internet or by telephone/sms. A
relationship must include a number face to face meetings (excluding webcam) between the parties. You must satisfy the visa officer that the
relationship is bona-fide.

o If, while your spouse was residing in Ireland, you married by proxy, it will be necessary for you to obtain a declaration from the Irish Courts under
Section 29 of the Family Law Act 1995, to confirm that the marriage is recognised in this State.
NON EEA Family Member of EU Citizen (apart from mentioned above the following docs are required):
11 National identity card (signed if required)
12 For EU Citizen dependent/spouse/child: Evidence that the EU Citizen spouse is exercising their EU Treaty Rights by
being employed/self employed in the State or engaged in a valid
vocational training programme or has sufficient financial resources and comprehensive sickness insurance cover.

Partner (If you are the non EEA partner of an EU Citizen in an attested, durable relationship that has existed for at least 2 years the following
documents are required):
13 Documentary evidence that will attest to the existence and durability of the relationship e.g. Registration Certificate of
partnership (if applicable) or evidence of common ownership of property, joint tenancy of property, on-going
correspondence addressed to both partners at the same address, financial dependence/interdependence, joint bank
accounts or any other relevant documentation.

14 Evidence that the EU Citizen partner is exercising their EU Treaty Rights by being employed/self employed in the State or
engaged in a valid vocational training programme or has sufficient financial resources and comprehensive sickness
insurance cover.

DEPENDENT SPOUSE/CHILD of Work Permit Holder/Green Card Holder and Persons Granted Long Term Residence (apart from mentioned
above the following docs are required)

15 Letter of invitation from the spouse/parent in Ireland.

16 Original letter from the spouse’s/parents employer in Ireland confirming he/she is currently employed and a copy of their
current contract giving details of the position and salary

17 A clear legible copy of spouse’s/parents current work permit, all previous work permits & P60 forms, GNIB registration
card, and full passport including Irish visa, immigration stamps, permission of stay stamps etc.

18 Accommodation details: Rental agreement of evidence of ownership of property. Please submit a recent utility bill (Gas
/Electricity) in support of this.
19 Original marriage & birth certificate for each dependent minor with (where appropriate) an official English translation
20 4 most recent payslips along with all P60s (Revenue Tax form) issued whilst residency in Ireland

21 Evidence that the spouse/parent has sufficient funds to support you & other family members, (copies of recent bank
statement or other financial documents to support this application will be acceptable)

22 If your marriage took place after your spouse went to work in Ireland, give a detailed account of your relationship history
when /where you met, and show evidence of your spouse returning home during the relationship, and for the wedding.
(Photos, Immigration stamps on passport, flight tickets etc).

23 Details of any other dependents/family members living in Ireland.

24 Where a child is travelling alone/unaccompanied or without both parents, a legal concent is required.

Please arrange documents as per above given order.

Please submit an extra phtotocopy of the all documents that you may need back at the time of collection.
