 Sometimes I have to travel or work extra time. But it doesn’t

Well, I’m going to tell you about a friend whom I spend a


lot of time with. Her name is…………, she my colleague. I
met her when I first came to ………school, so I’ve known
her for ………years. We have done a lot of things together
such as: working, teaching, going shopping and so on.
And the reasons why I like spending time with her are:
First, she my best friend and she can understand me very
well. Secondly, we share a lot of things in common such as
we have the same interests, same style for clothes and
same opinions about life. And more importantly, she a very
good listener who always beside me when I am in need
and she gives me such good advice that I feel so lucky to
have her as my friend in my life.

1. What do you often do at weekend?
 Well, at weekend, I often go out with my family. You know,
taking the kids to the park, the supermarket and so on. Sometimes,
I also hang out with my friends in a café’ or go shopping.
2. What do you have to do at weekend?
 There are some chores I have to to at weekend such as: doing
the laundery, cleaning and tidying the house and things like that.

Part II. Describe a subject you like most at school?

 What it is?
 When did you start learning it?
 What did you learn in that subject?
 Explain why you like that subject?

Well, I am going to tell you about the subject I like most at school.
It is Literature. I started learning Literature since I was at Primary
shool. At first, I was taught how to describe a tree, a chicken, a
place or a person. Then, when I moved to higher classes, I was
taught many interesting poems and works of many famous authors
in Vietnam as well as all over the world.
And the reasons why I like Literature are:
Firstly, it is such an interesting subject that I always looked forward
to seeing the Literature teacher again. You know, I really like
reading and writing. I also like listening to the teacher explaining
the famous works.
Secondly, I always had good marks in this subject. (I always
passed the Literature test with flying colors).
Finally, Literature is a helpful subject that taught me to become a
good person and to love my life more and more.
Part III.
1. Do you think children have to learn too much these days?
 Well, to tell you the truth, yes. Children nowadays have to learn
too much, I’m afraid.

2. What subjects are not necessary to learn at school?


 Well, I think all the subjects are necessary because children need
to be fully developed.

3. Should parents make their children study hard after school?


 Well, it depends on each child and each family, but I think kids
need to have time for playing as well.

4. How should English be taught at school?


 It’s a difficult question, too because I’m not a teacher of English.
But I think more time should be saved for teaching and learning
English at school because it is a very important subject.

Part II. Describe your secondary school.


What is it?

How did you feel about your secondary school?

Well, I’m going to tell you about your secondary school that I went
to. It is…………………….Secondary school, locating in ………………
Province. It was built a long time ago but I still remember clearly
how it looked. It was a two-floor building with more than 20
classrooms for about more than 200 students. There was a small
yard in the middle of the school with many big green trees. There

trees. We used to have PE lessons, whole school meeting in the
schoolyard. I loved my secondary very much because: Firstly, I had
really good teachers and kind friends there. Secondly, you know,
this was the place where taught me useful lessons to become a
good person nowadays. Finally, my school is a part of my early life
– I mean my childhood which was filled with happiness and
beautiful memories. I look forward to coming back my school one
day in the near future.

1. Tell me about schools in VN?
 Schools in VN nowadays are much better than that in the past,
epecially in term of facilities. There has also been a lot of changes
in teaching and learning qualities.
2. Are there enough schools for all children?
 I think there should be more shools for children. You know, there
are more than 60 students in a class in a public schools. That’s too
many.
3. Are there many private schools?
 Yes, more and more private schools have been built, but mainly
in big cities, I guess.
4. Which is better: public or private school?
 I think each type of school has its own advantages and
disadvantages and it depends on each family. So it’s hard for me to
say which is better: public or private one. But for me, I prefer
public school.

1. Do you live in a house or a flat?
 Well, I am living in a house which is a 3-floor building. I have
lived there for……….years.

 Well, I like my bedroom most because it is the place where I can
relax and have good sleep after a long hard-working day.

3. Is there anything you would like to change in your house?


 No, I don’t. But I wish I could have a garden with lots of flowers.

Part II. What you do on weekend mornings

Well, I’m going to tell you about what I do on weekend mornings.


You know, on weekend mornings, I often get up a little bit later.
Then, I go out for breakfast with my husband/wife and my kids. We
often eat out at some nearby restaurants. Afterthat, we often take
our kids to some entertaining centers to play or go to the
supermarket. Sometimes, we gather together with 1 or 2 other
families to have a small party. Sometimes, we simply stay at home
all do all the household chores that we haven’t done during the
week.
Whatever we do, wherever we go at weekend, we all find happy
because it’s the time for us to relax and enjoy ourselves after long
tired week days.

1. Do you often do morning excercises?
 Yes, of course. You know, I often spend 30 minutes doing yoga/
going jogging in the morning. I feel very relaxed and full of energy
when doing morning exercise.

Part II. Describe a book you like

Well I am going to tell you about a book I have read. It is Doremon.


You know I was given a series of Doremon on my 9 th birthday and I
really like it. The story is about the daily life of Nobita who has a
magical cat – Doremon and their friends such as Chaien, Seko and
so on.
The reasons why I remember and like the story very much are:
Firstly, the plot of the story is so interesting that I kept reading
nonstop from the first page to the last one. I remember I even read
the story for so many times that I could learnt by heart every single
detail in the story.
Secondly, I can learn a lot from Doremon. I really appreciate its
moral value, you know from how to behave with the elderly,
parents, teachers and friends.
More importantly, the story taught me that everyone should be
brave enough to dare to dream and to realize our dreams. Nothing
is impossible.

So I guess these are the reasons why I like Doremon

2. Do you think the Internet will make books disappear?


 I don’t think so. Ebooks can’t replace traditional ones because
printed books have their own values.
3. What do you think of the idea of E-books?
 Well, they are convenient and economical. But sometimes you
can’t find what you want to read on the Internet.
4. Which is better, book or the movie?
 Well, personally I prefer book because book is more details and I
can have better imagination while reading a book rather than
warching a movie.

 Well, I think the listening skill was quite difficult.

 Well, it is one of the requirements of my job.

Part II. Describe your favorite film

Well, I am going to tell you about my favourite film, which is


“Decendant of the Sun”. You know, it’s a kind of Korean soap opera
which was released in 2016. The film is not only about the beautiful
love affairs between a female doctor and a male soldier but also
about their bravery, their patriotism for the nation. I watched this
series last year and I fell in love with it right at the first show. The
film was so interesting that I did not sleep for a whole night to
finish all of its 16 series. The reasons why I am a big fan of this
movie are:
Firstly, the main actor and actress in this film are so well-known,
attractive and well-acted that I can’t keep my eyes off them.
Secondly, the plot of this film is really touching. As I said before, it
was not only about love affairs between a young couple but also
depicts a really moving story about a brave young generation who
dare to sacrifice their own love for the whole nation.
Finally, the movie has such a lot of fabulous sound tracks that they
all became hot trend among youngters for such a long time.
So I guess these are the reasons why I am really into this movie.

 Well, such films as ations, romantics or comedy are quite
common in my country, I guess.

 Like other men/women, I am a big fan of action film/ soap
opera….

Part I. House
1. Can you tell me about your house?
Well, my house is an apartment in……………. I have lived here
for…………year. It’s not too big but it’s very convenient. I like my
house very much.
2. How long have you lived in your house?

Part II. Describe an evening meal in your house.

Well, I am going to tell you about an evening meal in my


house. We often have dinner at about 7.30 in the dinning
room with 4 members: my …….., my…….and my………… Well,
you know apart from rice, we often have 2 main courses:
meat or fish and vegetable. Sometimes we also have salad,
soup or tofu. Usually, we don’t have a habit of eating fruits
after dinner but yougurt as the dessert. During the meal, we
often tell each other stories at work and our kids tell us their
stories at school.
Dinner, for me, is not simply a meal but a really precious
moment for every member to share feelings and feel each
other’s love and care. Therefore, I have to say that dinner is
the most important meal in a day in our family.

 Well, my family is a nuclear family with four member: parents

Part II. Describe a phone you are using

Well, I am going to tell you about my cellphone.


U know, it an iphone 6 – kind of smartphone made in USA. It’s
white, rectangle with a touch screen and a small home button. I’ve
had it for 3 years. It is so userfriendly, I mean it very easy to use. I
just need to follow some simple instructions.
And the reasons why I find my cellphone useful are:
Firstly, it is the most convenient mean of communication. You
can make a phonecall, send a message to your friends and relative
anytime, anywhere.
Secondly, my cellphone is also my most favorite mean of
entertainment. You know, I can listen to music, surf the Internet,
read newspaper, watch movies and so on on my cellphone.
More importantly, I consider my iphone as a studying tool
which helps me search information and my kids learn English.
So I guess these are the reasons why I find my cellphone useful.

1. How technology has changed our life?
 Well, technology has changed our life a lot in both a positive and
negative way. Our life has become much more easier thanks to
technology but we have become more and more dependent on
technology.
2. Can you live without technology?
 Well, I am afraid not. You know, technology now has become
part of everyone’s life and I can’t live without it.

1. Have you ever visited other countries?
 Yes. I have been to Thailand, China and they are beautiful
countries.
2. What are some advantages of travelling abroad.
 Travelling aboard helps you open your eyes. You can learn about
other cultures, people and cuisine.

Part II. Describe a recent change in your family or at work?

Well I am going to tell you about a recent change in my family. You


know we have just bought a new apartment and we are going to
move next month. Well, I have to say that this is a big and
important change in our family. Currently, we are staying with our
parents and moving away is an important milestone in a person’s
life. We and our kids will have to lead a more dependent life. We
will become busier because we will have to do a lot of things but
ourselves without our parents’ help but I hope that it will be a good
change for us and my kids.

Part I. Morning
1. What do you often do in the morning?
 Well, I often get up early and go jogging for about 30 minutes
before going to work.
2. How do you feel in the morning?
Actually, morning is the time I feel most comfortable after a long
sleep at night.

Part II. How you go to work/school

Well, I go to work by motorbike, you know the most common mean


of transportation in VN. It often takes me 20 minutes to get to work
by motorbike. I find going by motorbike is rather convenient and
flexible. It is also a cheap mean of transport. However, going by
motorbike also has some drawbacks. First, it’s dangerous. Second,
you know, Hanoi is very polluted and travelling by motorbike is not
good for your health.

1. Tell me about public means of transportation in
your city.
 Public transportation in Hn is quite a lot but mainly used among
students. They are cheap but sometimes inconvenient, I’m afraid.
2. Which do you prefer: car, motorbike or bus?
Motorbikes because….

4. What do you think of taxi services in our city?
 Taxi services in our city is not good quality, I am afraid. But we
have Grab car now and I think they are much better in terms of
price and services.
