Dear Mayor Lagnada:

Greetings!

This concerns the proposed projects of renovating the City Sports Complex
for the purpose of the 2018 Caraga Regional Athletic Meet, the construction of the
resettlement/relocation houses at Brgy. Doongan, and the construction of
housing units of the victims of the fire incident last December 9, 2017 at Brgy.
Tandang Sora. The mentioned projects will need a total volume of 107,040.82 bd.
ft. for its completion.

We regret to inform you, that upon assessment and evaluation by our office,
the City does not have any available materials for the construction of the proposed
projects. Further, as certified by the City Budget Office issued last December 11,
2017, the purpose of purchasing 107,040.82 bd. ft. of forest products were not
included in the Annual Budget 2017. Hence, the City does not have the available
funds to procure the said volume of logs for the completion of the project.

However, we observed that there are confiscated forest products currently

deposited within the City Hall Compound. These forest products may be utilized
to proceed with the construction of the proposed projects. Hence, we recommend
that the City requests the DENR for the donation of these confiscated forest
products currently deposited within the City Hall Compound. To supplement the
available forest products within the City Hall, the City may also request DENR to
donate confiscated forest products sourced elsewhere. The donation of these
forest products will expedite the completion of the proposed projects.
