Beyond the Pant Suits of Meg Whitman
September was her month, but October is around the
corner and Meg has to continue to work hard. She got

I hate to say it, but it felt as if Meg
Whitmanʼs speeches were
soundbites from her
advertisements. However, they
were original and were done with

Leading into Fresno: How Meg Whitman screwed the pooch
Saturday might not be a good day for Meg
Whitman, at all.
Whitman held her own on Tuesday at UC Davis,
but Saturday's debate in Fresno is a totally
different game. There are two main reasons why
the Fresno debate is extremely important to the
two candidates: there's a huge Latino voting
block on the line, and illegal immigration is a key
issue for California.
The title should be pretty obvious: Meg Whitman
has screwed the pooch for Saturday.

already in a fit for being labelled as the Detroit of
California which did not bode well for Fresnans
who were looking forward to having a debate
hosted at Fresno State.
But that's a moot point after yesterday's
revelation: Meg Whitman employed an
undocumented worker as a housekeeper. This

making a very tumultuous and worrisome debate
for the Whitman camp.
With the key issue in Fresno's debate being
illegal immigration, Whitman may lose some
support regarding illegal immigration, especially
in the Latino community. This housekeeper issue
will prove to be a difficult issue to overcome in
Fresno, however, Whitman can come back from
this shakeup (Just not until mid-to-late October).
While this wasn't avoidable, Whitman probably
shouldn't have held two debates in the same
week, it didn't give enough time to prepare for
unforeseeable circumstances (say the nanny-
issue) and enough interpretation of the UC Davis
debate before the Fresno debate.
Meg Whitman screwed the pooch, and Saturday
