This Research aims to know the influence of substituting Bulrush with palm leaves without
fermentation and Palm Leaves in fermenting in rations toward absorbing coarse protein and
coarse fiber to goat. This research was implemented on October—November 2015 at Stable of
Farm Major, Faculty of Agriculture, Lampung University.

This research used Random Plan Group (RAK). That group based on the weight of goats. The
group amount in 3 and each group contained 3 goats, with the result that total of goat that used
was 9 with average-weight ranging from 9—21 kg/head. Treatment that given include: R1 (80%
concentrate + 20% Bulrush); R2 (80% concentrate + 20% Palm Leaves without fermentation);
R3 (80% concentrate + 20%n Palm Leaves in fermenting). The data that obtained was analyzed
diverse at real standard 5% and or 1%. After that it followed by Duncan Test. The result of the
research showed that the substituting Bulrush with Palm Leaves have not influence (p<0,05)
toward absorbing coarse protein, however it has influence (p<0,01) toward absorbing coarse
fiber.

Keywords: goat, palm leaves, absorbing coarse fiber, and absorbing coarse protein.
