Methodology:

The methodology should have the following components:

 The unknown characters are pre classified into one of the three groups based on the
structural properties of the text line as core, ascending and descending characters. As
the art of preprocessing the characters are checked for skew detection, noise removal
and binarization. Next the preprocessed image is segmented when decomposes them
into individual characters. Finally the Markov model is used for recognizing the
Marathi numerals.
 The handwritten numeral recognition is a sub field of character recognition has got
much attention since the first years of research in the field. This study deals with the
classification of digits using features extracted by structural methods. Initially
collected data are represented as images. The preprocessing activities like
segmentation, noise removal, rotation, cropping, and thresholding, linking broken
digits and thinning are done in the image. This will helpful for the subsequent phases
of recognition. Many of the image processing activities are using morphological
techniques
 Image thresholding algorithm is used to find out the optimal threshold value. Broken
digits are linked using a border following algorithm. The unique discrete features of
digits are extracted from the processed image
 A new methodology for image segmentation of functional magnetic resonance
imaging using functional echo state of neural network or feature extraction algorithm
for Image segmentation has been suggested to cont. this work.
 Language independent components, such as image cleaning, skew adjustment, image
detection, column detection, table detection, Document analysis module backed by
dictionaries, spell checker and auto language detection tools etc.
 Apart from these research methodologies some new image processing algorithm and
some new techniques has been used like filters, clustering for identification, some
new activity pattern algorithm will used be used.
Limitations of the Study:
 Expensive
 Method involves experiments on specimens
 Only for Marathi numerals
 Dependence on Electronic Computer and HCR software

Significance of the Study:

Typing is the process of inputting text into a device, such as a typewriter, cell phone,
computer, or a calculator, by pressing keys on a keyboard. It can be distinguished from other
means of input, such as the use of pointing devices like the computer mouse, and text input
via speech recognition. The pen and memory base unit captures Marathi natural handwriting
and illustrations in real time while connected to a PC where they can then be backed up and
converted to editable typed text exported straight into office applications. With the
introduction of computers and word-processors, there has been a change in how text-entry is
performed. In the past, using a typewriter, speed was measured with a stopwatch and errors
were tallied by hand. With the current technology, document preparation is more about using
word-processors as a composition aid, changing the meaning of error rate and how it is
measured. We can use this digital pen to type Marathi literals and user cannot cumbersome to
write any text in this language. They can use their own way to write or create their own
document. Computer users are depend on typist or data entry operator for typing huge
amount of data. One more advantage of writing is always better then reading. It has been
proved. We cannot forget if we write some text two or more times. This pen in not available
in Marathi language and many more languages in India

The social need is, this pen will be widely used in Maharashtra (Government offices, school,
colleges and region as well as some other state where Marathi is a common or official language.
Yet in computer many people near about 70% people are depending on typist for typing, this pen
can help them to reduce their typing burden.
