CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

Most of the classrooms at Notre Dame of Marbel University do not have garbage

bins. Trash cans and recycling bins play an important role in keeping school campuses

clean. Having right trash can in the right place discourage littering, and having clearly

labeled recycling bins makes it easy for the school to stay green. Whether you need a

trash can for the quadrangle, the classrooms, and in the canteens.

Reducing waste at school instills a culture of environmental responsibility in

students. There are many ways that help reduce waste at school. Students should have

discipline to achieve a clean and organize classroom.

The lack of responsibility and empathy causes students to throw garbage on the floor

that may cause a great effect to the environment. The students should know these

effects for them to be aware and for them to care for the environment. Because some

effects of throwing garbage anywhere are; soil contamination, air contamination and a

great harm to humans. The importance of good and clean environment cannot be

described adequately. According to many scientists the factors which influence the

growth of individuals most is environment. Every classroom generates waste or trash,

which should not be thrown anywhere and everywhere, but only in trash bins.

The importance of good and clean environment cannot be described adequately.

According to many scientists the factors which influence the growth of individuals most

is environment. Every classroom generates waste or trash, which should not be thrown

anywhere and everywhere, but only in trash bins.

Not proper throwing of garbage makes will makes our surrounding dirty and

pollute the environment, making it very unhygienic and causes odors and encourages

the infestation of cockroaches, flies and other insects and it can cause diseases.

The overall purpose of this study is that, the researchers want The Grade 12

ABM Students on how they can decrease the volume of garbage in their classrooms.

The researchers also want to know why they involved their selves in throwing garbage

in their classrooms.

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to decrease the volume of garbage in the classroom of

Specifically the following questions will be answer:

1. What are the activities do the Grade 12 ABM students that results a high

volume of garbage?

2. What can the researchers do to lessen the garbage?

3. Is the solution effective to lessen the volume of garbage?

Significance of the Study

This will benefit the following:

Students. This study will help them to lessen the average of garbage. And it will also

help them to live on work in a clean environment. Also, this study will help them to

become more responsible students.

Janitors. This study will help to lessen their works so that they can have more time to

rest.

Teachers. This study will be beneficial to teachers in order for them to be comfortable

in teaching and for them concentrate will in conducting discussions.

School. This study will help them to maintain the cleanliness of every classroom.

Scope and Limitation

The locale of the study is conducted at Notre Dame of Marbel University. It

is limited to the Grade 12 ABM students to help them in decreasing the volume of

garbage in their classrooms.

Definition of Terms

To understand and clarify the terms used in the study, the following are hereby

defined:

Garbage - The unending and the main problem that affects the performance of

every individual.

Grade 12 ABM Students- The participants of this study.

Volume of garbage- The measurement of garbage in every classrooms.

Decreasing- The idea on how the researches will lessen the garbage in every

classroom.

Classroom- A place where the researches conducts research and a place you

can find garbage.
