Application of Back Massage Technique of Intensity Pain in Elderly with Rheumatoid

Rheumatoid arthritis / rheumatism is a disease many suffered indonesians increasing each
year to elderly . Rheumatism is a disease that can cause great pain scale if not addressed. The
perceived problem is pain in the joints, there are swollen parts of the joint affected by
rheumatism, and there is numbness in the lower extremity or upper extremity. So that need to
be handling of the family.
Design case study method was used in the study. The sampling method used is purpose
sampling. Samples taken as many as two respondents are the elderly who experience
rheumatism. This study data is taken by using purposive sampling. after being tabulated the
existing data were analyzed by using explanatory analysis and time series.
The result showed the back massage technique that is periodically given to patients with
arthritis is a reduction of pain intensity even controlled or lost .
Looking at the result of this study needs to be the existence of the application of the
technique of back massage in order to minimize the occurrence of pain in people with
remmatik.
