Born on October 3, 1953 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Mary Jo obtained a B.A. from Centenary College
and a J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1979. She is Board Certified in Family Law by
the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She is affiliated with the A.A.M.L. and the S. B.T.

Ms. McCurley has earned recognition on every Texas Super Lawyers listing since its inception in 2003,
receiving special recognition among the Top 100 Lawyers in Texas in 2013, the Top 50 Female Lawyers
in Texas for 13 consecutive years, as well as being included eight times in the listing of the Top 100
attorneys in Dallas/Fort Worth (Thomson Reuters). She also has been recognized for her law practice.

Mary Jo has written numerous journal articles in her field and is a published author and frequent lecturer
before such groups. She has appeared before the State Bar of Texas, New York Bar Association,
American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, American Bar Association, National Business Institute and
law schools throughout Texas. In her spare time Mary Jo enjoys hiking and jogging.
