 DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS

Changing Season Fashion Boutique will be owned and

operated by Ma-shouna Barclay. It will be a sole
proprietorship business. Changing season fashion boutique
will engage in offering a range of garments and accessories
such as: dresses, skirts, pants, blouse, necklaces and watch
which are targeted for plus-size females.
Changing season fashion boutique aims at maintaining
the highest standards in terms of customer service, quality of
product and a wide range-selection to satisfy the needs of the
target market.
Changing season fashion boutique will value our
employees as they will be the image of the business and we
will encourage their growth and promotion throughout their
career at changing season fashion boutique. We will also
ensure the training of employees.
We will treat our customers with high priority and in
order to serve them better and meet their expectations, we
understand their lifestyle, experience and needs.
 JUSTIFICATION OF LOCATION

Three reasons why this location will be chosen are:

 The proximity to raw materials. It is more cost effective

employed in fashion design. These four workers will be
responsible for cutting, sewing, designing and
preparation of the clothing items. Skilled labour will be
necessary for this area of business because they have the
education background that will match the qualification
for the business. Also they possess the appropriate skills
to expedite their careers including communication,
computer, planning analytical and problem solving skills.
In addition three semi-skilled workers will be
required in the retail operations. The semi-skilled workers will
take responsibility of:
 Potential clients
 Assisting customers with trying on merchandise
 Display clothing
 Prepare sales slips or contracts
 Calculating sale price of merchandise
 Maintain records of sales
 Semi-skilled laborers will be needed in this aspect of
business because workers will need to have the ability
to monitor and perform repetitive task which are skills a
semi-skilled labor possess.

The owner, having the managerial and professional skills

will manage the establishment, and assist in the
supervision of the

An entrepreneur has been defined as, a person who

As an entrepreneur, the owner will have to be a
shrewd investor and can take calculated risk i.e. ones
that minimize loss when choosing investment
opportunities. The entrepreneur will be the
conceptualizer of the business idea. The entrepreneur will
identify the best resources that suit the business
operation and ensure the efficiency of each resource
employed.

In planning for this business the owner will make

possible:

 The training of employees

 The use of machinery to increase labor productivity.
 Maximizing the use of shop space.
 Borrowing money at low interest rate.
In addition the owners will decide upon policies and
procedures for the business such as:
  Implementing stock control which is the monitoring and
managing the amount of stock, either on the selling floor,
or in storage at any given time.
 Implementing product exchange policies.
As an entrepreneur of changing season fashion
boutique the owner will be responsible for ensuring that
polices and procedure put in place will be fulfilled so that the
business can be recognized for its high standards and quality
from both consumers and suppliers.

In ensuring that there will be a consistent high quality

customers, employees and goods. Security cameras are cost
efficient and will enable recording of store activity which will
make thieves and other threats to the business easier to catch.
Above are two of the technologies that will be used in the
daily operation of the business to ensure the smooth and
efficient running of the business.

Linkage refers to industries that are connected because they

depend on each other to obtain or to sell raw materials.
