auxiliary fire and rescue volunteers to be eligible for special classification for personal property
taxation. The County Code currently authorizes such special taxation only for volunteers who
respond to calls for service. The most recently adopted budget approved the extension of this

3. A ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE 2 TO PERMIT MINOR

AND ADJACENT PARCELS - This text amendment proposes to revise Section 2-308.1 of the
Zoning Ordinance to permit minor boundary line adjustments between Non-Common Open
Space parcels and adjacent parcels. The proposed text amendment would not allow boundary
adjustments for the purpose of allowing further subdivision, such as gaining sufficient frontage
width or lot area for division. The Board of Supervisors initiated this text amendment on June
14, 2018. On July 19, 2018, the Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of
the proposed text amendment. (Mary Leigh McDaniel, Marshall District Supervisor, Sponsor;
