Addendum to Employment Contract for District Superintendent

This Amendment (“Amendment”) to Employment Agreement for District Superintendent (“Agreement”) is entered
into this 26th day of June 2018, by and between the Governing Board of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School
District (“District” or “Board”) and Kelly Bowers (“Superintendent”).

This Amendment constitutes a written amendment to the Agreement originally executed by the parties on or about
May 4, 2010. Its original term has been annually extended and currently has a commencement of July 1, 2017
and an end of June 30, 2021, subject to extension and reformation of such term according to the terms of the
Agreement. The purpose of this year’s Amendment is to implement such extension or reformation of the term of
the Agreement as follows:

1. Paragraph 1.1 of the amended Agreement provides that, upon the Superintendent’s receipt of a
satisfactory evaluation for the 2017-2018 school year, or if she does not receive a formal evaluation at all
during any school year, as provided in paragraph 6 of the Agreement, the Board may take action to
extend the term of the Agreement by one (1) year, by a super majority vote of the Board of Education
(Board) (i.e., 80%) in a regular open session meeting, so long as the term of the Agreement does not at
any time exceed four (4) years. This provision shall apply in each subsequent year of the Agreement.
2. The Board and Superintendent hereby agree that the conditions set forth in paragraph 1 above have been
met.
3. Therefore, the Board and Superintendent hereby agree that paragraphs 1 and 1.1 of the Agreement are
hereby amended to provide that the term of the Superintendent’s employment is four (4) years,
commencing July 1, 2018, through and including June 30, 2022.
4. The Superintendent will voluntarily forego her negotiated contractual 3.5% salary step increase. This
negotiated, contractual 3.5% salary step increase will be directed back into the General Fund.
5. The Board and Superintendent hereby agree the Superintendent’s annual evaluation will take place
before June 30 of each subsequent year.
6. Except as provided in this Amendment, the provisions of the Agreement shall remain in full force and
effect.
