Bismillah...

Two mountains are important in Islam: Jabal al-Nur and Jabal al-Rahmah
- Jabal al-Rahmah is where he (SAW) stood when he gave the farewell khutbah
- the khutbah was delivered 9th, Dhul-Hijjah 10AH
- Jabal al-Rahmah is where he stood when he gave the farewell khutbah
- Jabal = Mountain
- 9th of Dhul-Hijjah is the day of Arafat
- the most important pillar of hajj is to be on mount Arafat

It was narrated that Abdur-Rahman bin Yamur said: "I saw the Messenger of
Allah when people came to him and asked him about Hajj. The Messenger of
Allah said: 'Hajj is Arafat. Whoever catches up with the night of Arafat before
dawn comes on the night of Jam (Al-Muzdalifah), his Hajj is complete.'
[Sunan al-Nasa'i (5/256) No. 3016, Sunan Tirmidhi (3/228) No. 889, Sunan
Ibn Majah (4/218) No. 3015]

“O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I

know not whether after this year, I shall
ever be amongst you again. Therefore
listen to what I am saying to you very
carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO
THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT
HERE TODAY…
From this statement; the Prophet (SAW) knew his ending was near
- from this statement, we know that it is haram to speak during a khutbah
- if you speak during a khutbah, you have made your jumu’ah null and void

It was narrated that Abu’l-Darda’ said: The Prophet (SAW) sat on the minbar
and addressed the people, and he recited a verse. Ubayy ibn Ka’b was next to
me, so I said to him: “O Ubayy, when was this verse revealed?” But he
refused to speak to me, so I asked him again and he refused to speak to me,
until the Prophet (SAW) came down (from the minbar). Then Ubayy said to
me: “You have gained nothing from your Jumu’ah except idle talk.” When the
Messenger of Allah (SAW) had finished (the prayer), I went to him and told
him (what had happened). He said: “Ubayy was right. When you hear your
imam speaking, then keep quiet and listen attentively until he has finished.”
[Musnad Ahmad (5/143) No. 21325; Sunan Ibn Majah (2/203) No. 1111;
Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah (3/154) No. 1807; Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi (3/219)
No. 5623]

A great listener is a great student

- not only are you supposed to be quite during a khutbah,
- you should not speak when the Quran is being recited

So when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you
may receive mercy. (Al-A’raf 7:204)

…O People, just as you regard this month,

this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the
life and property of every Muslim as a
sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to
you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so
that no one may hurt you. Remember that
you will indeed meet your LORD, and that
HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH
has forbidden you to take usury (interest),
therefore all interest obligation shall
henceforth be waived. Your capital,
however, is yours to keep. You will neither
inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has
Judged that there shall be no interest and
that all the interest due to Abbas ibn ‘Abd’al
Muttalib (Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth
be waived…
You regard ‘this month’ as sacred; is Dhul-Hijjah
- this day is also sacred; the day of Arafat
- this city is sacred; Holy Makkah

These words of the Prophet (SAW) are profound

- the whole of a Muslim is inviolable for another Muslim

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) who said: The Messenger of Allah
(SAW) said, "Do not envy one another, and do not inflate prices for one
another, and do not hate one another, and do not turn away from one
another, and do not undercut one another in trade, but [rather] be slaves of
Allah and brothers [amongst yourselves]. A Muslim is the brother of a
Muslim: he does not oppress him, nor does he fail him, nor does he lie to him,
nor does he hold him in contempt. Taqwa (piety) is right here [and he
pointed to his chest three times]. It is evil enough for a man to hold his
brother Muslim in contempt. The whole of a Muslim is inviolable for another
Muslim: his blood, his property, and his honour." [Sahih Muslim (4/1986) No.
2564]
Return the goods to the rightful owner; is talking about amanah
- as Allah says in the Quranic verse (4:58):

Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and
when you judge between people to judge with justice. Excellent is that which
Allah instructs you. Indeed, Allah is ever Hearing and Seeing. (An-Nisa 4:58);

And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive (Al-Mu’minun
23:8)

- the above verse (23:8) also speaks about Amanah

- the man who has no amanah has no deen

Anas Ibn Malik (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) has never
preached us without saying: "There is no faith for the one who has no
amanah (trust) and no religion for the one who does not keep his promises."
[Musnad Ahmad (3/135) No. 12406, al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Bayhaqi (9/387)
No. 18851]

- hurt no one so that no one may hurt you

On the authority of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree (RA), that the Messenger of Allah
(SAW) said: There should be neither harming (darar) nor reciprocating harm
(dirar). [Related by Ibn Majah (2340), ad-Daraqutnee (3079) and others as a
musnad Hadith. It was also related by Malik in al-Muwatta (2895)] (Hasan)

But whoever kills a believer intentionally - his recompense is Hell, wherein he

will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed
him and has prepared for him a great punishment. (An-Nisa 4:93)

It is worthy of mentioning that if you kill (murder) someone,

- you have to take all of his sins on the day of resurrection

If you should raise your hand against me to kill me - I shall not raise my hand
against you to kill you. Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds. Indeed I
want you to obtain [thereby] my sin and your sin so you will be among the
companions of the Fire. And that is the recompense of wrongdoers." (Al-
Ma’idah 5:28-29)
- this Quranic verse tells you that if you kill someone,
- on the day of judgement you will have to take all of their sins

Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported: Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "A believer
continues to guard his Faith (and thus hopes for Allah's Mercy) so long as he
does not shed blood unjustly." [Sahih Bukhari (9/2) No. 6862]

- Cain shares in the blame, whenever someone kills another

- because he was the first person to kill someone

Abdullah Ibn Mas‘ud (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “No
soul is killed unlawfully, but there is a share of the sin on the first son of
Adam, because he was the first one to set the precedent of killing.” [Related
by al-Bukhari (3335) and Muslim (1677)]

Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a
soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had
slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved
mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear
proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land,
were transgressors. (Al-Ma’idah 5:32)

- even though killing (murder) is haram in Islam;

THE ISLAMIC STATE IS ALLOWED TO KILL 13 PEOPLE:

1. THE ADULTERER

Narrated By 'Abdullah: Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "The blood of a Muslim

who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I
am His Messenger, cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for
murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one
who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims." [al-Bukhari
(6878) and Muslim (1676)]

2. THE APOSTATE

3. THE MURDERER
O you who have believed, prescribed for you is legal retribution for those
murdered - the free for the free, the slave for the slave, and the female for
the female. But whoever overlooks from his brother anything, then there
should be a suitable follow-up and payment to him with good conduct. This is
an alleviation from your Lord and a mercy. But whoever transgresses after
that will have a painful punishment. And there is for you in legal retribution
[saving of] life, O you [people] of understanding, that you may become
righteous. (Al-Baqarah 2:178-179)

4. THE HOMOSEXUAL (we are not allowed to kill lesbians)

Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Whoever you find
doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the
one to whom it is done.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/57) No. 1456, Sunan Abu Dawud
(4/158) No. 4462, Sunan Ibn Majah (3/594) No. 2561, Musnad Ahmad
(1/300) No. 2732]

Ibn Qudamah said: "If two women engage in lesbian sexual relations, then
they are guilty of zina and are cursed, because it was narrated that the
Prophet (SAW) said: “If a woman has sexual relations with another woman,
then they are both guilty of zina.” There is no hadd punishment for them
because they did not have intercourse, rather it is likened to intimate
relations that are less than intercourse, and they are to be subjected to a
ta’zeer punishment." [al-Mughni (9/61)]

5. THE RAPIST

The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and
do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their
hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the
land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the
Hereafter. (Al-Ma'idah 5:33)

6. THE PAEDOPHILE (this is left up to the ijtihad of the Qadi, this also applies to the
rapist)

7. THE DRUG SMUGGLER

8. THE ARMED ROBBER

Narrated Anas: Some people from 'Uraina tribe came to Medina and its
climate did not suit them, so Allah's Messenger (SAW) allowed them to go to
the herd of camels (given as Zakat) and they drank their milk and urine (as
medicine) but they killed the shepherd and drove away all the camels. So
Allah's Messenger sent (men) in their pursuit to catch them, and they were
brought, and he had their hands and feet cut, and their eyes were branded
with heated pieces of iron and they were left in the Harra (a stony place at
Medina), till they died. [al-Bukhari (6802) and Muslim (1671)]

9. THE SPY

Ibn al-Qayyim said (concerning the hadeeth of Haatib ibn Abi Balta'ah): This
was quoted as evidence by those who do not think that the Muslim spy
should be killed, such as al-Shaafa'i, Ahmad and Abu Haneefah (may Allaah
have mercy on them). And it was quoted as evidence by those who think that
the spy should be killed, such as Maalik and Ibn 'Aqeel among the
companions of Ahmad, and others. They said: This is because the reason for
not killing him was that he had been present at Badr. If being Muslim was
the reason for not killing him, he would not have given a reason that is more
specific, which is the fact that he had been present at Badr. [Zad al-Ma'ad
(3/104)]

Ibn al-Qayyim said: "The correct view is that execution of a spy depends on
the opinion of the ruler; if executing him is in the Muslims’ interests, he
should be executed, but if letting him live serves a greater interest, then he
should be allowed to live. And Allah knows best." [Zad al-Ma'ad (3/372)]

10. THE PERSON WHO PRACTICES BESTIALITY

Narrated By Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet (SAW) said: "If anyone has
sexual intercourse with an animal, kill him and kill it along with him." I
(Ikrimah) said: I asked him (Ibn Abbas): 'What offence can be attributed to
the animal?' He replied: 'I think he (the Prophet) disapproved of its flesh
being eaten when such a thing had been done to it.' [Sunan Abu Dawud
(4/159) No. 4464, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/56) No. 1455, Musnad Ahmad (1/269)
No. 2420]

11. THE PERSON WHO DABBLES IN BLACK MAGIC

Jundub (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “The hadd
(prescribed punishment) for the practitioner of magic is a blow with the
sword (i.e., execution)" [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/60) No. 1460, Sunan al-
Daraqutni (4/120) No. 3204, Mustadrak al-Haakim (4/401) No. 8073, al-
Sunan al-Kabir al-Bayhaqi (8/234) No. 16500, al-Mu'jam al-Kabir al-Tabarani
(2/161) No. 1665]

Bajaalah (RA) said: “Umar ibn al-Khattaab (RA) wrote to us commanding us

to kill every sorcerer, male or female.” [Musnad Ahmad (1/190) No. 1657,
Sunan Abu Dawud (3/168) No. 3043, al-Sunan al-Kabir al-Bayhaqi (9/318)
No. 18652]

12. THE PERSON WHO DOES INCEST

Narrated By Al-Bara' ibn Azib: I met my uncle who was carrying a standard. I
asked him: 'Where are you going?' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (SAW)
has sent me to a man who has married his father's wife. He has ordered me
to cut off his head and take his property.' [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/157) No.
4457, Sunan al-Nasa'i (6/109) No. 3332, Sunan al-Darime (2/205) No. 2239,
Musnad Ahmad (4/290) No. 18580]

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
“Whoever has intercourse with a Mahram relative, kill him; and whoever has
intercourse with an animal, kill him, and kill the animal.” [Sunan Ibn Majah
(3/596) No. 2564]

13. THE PERSON WHO CLAIMS TO BE A MUSLIM; BUT HE RIDICULES ALLAH, THE
PROPHET (SAW) OR ISLAM

Hussain ibn Ali related from his father Ali Ibn Abi Talib that the Messenger of
Allah (SAW) said: "Whoever curses a Prophet, kill him. Whoever curses my
Companions, beat him." [al-Mu’jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani (5/35) No. 4602]

It was narrated that Abu Barzah Al-Aslami said: "A man spoke harshly to Abu
Bakr As-Siddiq, and I said: 'Shall I kill him?' He rebuked me and said: 'That is
not for anyone after the Messenger of Allah (SAW)"'. [Sunan Nasa'i (7/108)
No. 4071]
Ibn 'Abbas narrated that: 'A blind man had a freed concubine (umm walad)
who used to insult the Prophet (SAW) and say bad things about him. He told
her not to do that but she did not stop, and he rebuked her but she did not
heed him. One night, when she started to say bad things about the Prophet
(SAW) and insult him, he took a short sword or dagger, put it on her belly
and pressed it and killed her. The following morning that was mentioned to
the Messenger of Allaah (SAW). He called the people together and said, “I
adjure by Allah the man who has done this action and I adjure him by my
right over him that he should stand up.” The blind man stood up and said, “O
Messenger of Allaah, I am the one who did it; she used to insult you and say
bad things about you. I forbade her, but she did not stop, and I rebuked her,
but she did not give up her habit. I have two sons like pearls from her, and
she was kind to me. Last night she began to insult you and say bad things
about you. So I took a dagger, put it on her belly and pressed it till I killed
her.” Thereupon the Prophet (SAW) said: “Bear witness, there is no blood
money due for her.”' [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/129) No. 4361, Sunan al-Nasa'i
(7/107) No. 4070, al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Bayhaqi (7/96) No. 13375, Sunan al-
Daraqutni (4/116) No. 3194, Mustadrak al-Haakim (4/394) No. 8044, al-
Haakim said: It is saheeh according to the conditions of Muslim although
they [al-Bukhari and Muslim] did not narrate it. It was classed as saheeh by
al-Dhahabi in his Talkhees, and by Ibn Hajar in Buloogh al-Maraam (pg. 369)
No. 1215]

- if you put as your status on facebook, ridiculing Allah, the Prophet or Islam
- you have to be killed
- unless the Qadi using his ijtihad has you make tawbah

Malaysia has deported a Saudi journalist accused of insulting the prophet

Muhammad on Twitter, despite claims by rights groups that he could face the
death penalty in Saudi Arabia
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/feb/12/malaysia-deports-saudi-
journalist-prophet

- these are the 13 people we kill mentioned above

Al-Qurtubi said: "There is no dispute among the scholars that qisaas

(retaliatory punishments) such as execution cannot be carried out except by
those in authority who are obliged to carry out the qisaas and carry out hadd
punishments etc, because Allaah has addressed the command regarding
qisaas to all the Muslims, and it is not possible for all the Muslims to get
together to carry out the qisaas, which is why they appointed a leader who
may represent them in carrying out the qisaas and hadd punishments."
[Tafseer al-Qurtubi (2/245-246)]

Ibn Rushd said: "With regard to the one who should carry out this
punishment they agreed that the ruler should carry it out, and that applies to
all the hadd punishments." [Bidaayat al-Mujtahid (4/228)]

- we are now speaking about trust

Abu Huraira narrated the Prophet (SAW) said: “The one who gets married
with the intention not to pay dowry to his wife is a fornicator. And the one
who borrows money with the intention not to pay back is a thief.” [Ibn
Hibban in ‘al-Majruheen’ (2/261) No. 941]

Suhaib al-Khair narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Any man who
takes out a loan, having resolved not to pay it back, will meet Allah as a
thief." [Sunan Ibn Majah (3/486) No. 2410]

In the above mentioned hadith the Prophet (SAW) has emphasised the
importance of paying back loans
- when you live in Darul-Harb and you take loans from a bank,
- you do not have to pay it back
- when you borrow from your Muslim brother and sister, you have to pay it back

…HURT NO ONE SO THAT NO ONE MAY HURT YOU…

- when you read this, the following hadith comes to mind

On the authority of 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As (RA) that the Prophet (SAW)
said: "A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hands the Muslims are
safe; and a Muhajir (Emigrant) is the one who refrains from what Allah has
forbidden." [al-Bukhari (10) and Muslim (40)]

…REMEMBER THAT YOU WILL MEET YOUR LORD…

- when you read this statement the following verses (56:1-3) comes to mind

When the Occurrence occurs, there is, at its occurrence, no denial. It will
bring down [some] and raise up [others]. (Al-Waqi’ah 56:1-3)
…AND HE (ALLAH) WILL INDEED RECKON YOUR DEEDS…
- what comes to mind is a hadith Qudsi which Allah says:

On the authority of Abu Dharr al-Ghifaree (RA) from the Prophet (SAW) from
his Lord, that He said: “…O My servants, it is but your deeds that I account
for you, and then recompense you for. So he who finds good, let him praise
Allah, and he who finds other than that, let him blame no one but himself.
[Sahih Muslim (4/1994) No. 2577]

…ALLAH HAS FORBIDDEN YOU TO TAKE RIBA (usury)…

- when you read this statement of the Prophet (SAW) the following verse comes to
mind:

Those who consume interest cannot stand [on the Day of Resurrection]
except as one stands who is being beaten by Satan into insanity. That is
because they say, "Trade is [just] like interest." But Allah has permitted
trade and has forbidden interest. So whoever has received an admonition
from his Lord and desists may have what is past, and his affair rests with
Allah. But whoever returns to [dealing in interest or usury] - those are the
companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein. Allah destroys
interest and gives increase for charities. And Allah does not like every sinning
disbeliever. (Al-Baqarah 2:275-276)

Riba doesn't make you a kaafir - only when you make it halal
- when Allah spoke about riba in the above Quranic verse, and called them disbelievers,
- He (SWT) is referring to those who have made riba halal
- those who say riba and trading are the exact same things

O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you]
of interest, if you should be believers. And if you do not, then be informed of
a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may
have your principal - [thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged. (Al-
Baqarah 2:278-279)

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: "Riba has seventy
segments, the least serious being equivalent to a man committing adultery
with his own mother." [Sunan Ibn Majah (3/337) No. 2274 and Mustadrak
al-Haakim (2/43) No. 2259]
The occupy Wall Street movement has become popular
- it has spread to 1,000 cities
- this is because when you eat riba, you have declared war on Allah
- that is why capitalism is bound to fail
- capitalism is based on riba

…Beware of Satan, for the safety of your

religion. He has lost all hope that he will
ever be able to lead you astray in big
things, so beware of following him in small
things…
When the Muslims see this statement of the Prophet (SAW)
- "…beware of the Satan…"
- one ayah comes to mind (7:27)

O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents
from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their private
parts. Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them.
Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe. (Al-A’raf
7:27)

- the rasool (SAW) is hereby warning you of the Satan

- the other ayah comes to mind is: 36:60-62

Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan -
[for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy - And that you worship [only] Me?
This is a straight path. And he had already led astray from among you much
of creation, so did you not use reason? (Ya-Sin 36:60-62)

Satan’s web is a chapter on its own - a whole book on its own

- because his web is numerous
- for example, women are his web and because women are his web,
- the Prophet has said: women are mans biggest fitna
Usama Ibn Zayd (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “I have
not left behind me any fitnah (temptation) more harmful to men than
women.” [Reported by al-Bukhaari (5096) and Muslim (2740)]

Anger is from the Satan

- when you become angry, you say things that you wish you could undo

Atiyyah as-Sa'di reported the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Anger comes
from the devil, the devil was created of fire, and fire is extinguished only
with water; so when one of you becomes angry, he should perform ablution.
[Sunan Abu Dawud (4/249) No. 4784 and Musnad Ahmad (4/226) No.
18014]

Haste is also from the Satan

Sahl ibn Sa’d Sa’idi reported that Allah’s Messenger said, “Deliberation is
from Allah, but haste is from the devil”. [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/367) No. 2012]

Procrastination is from the Satan

- he makes you leave things from today to do tomorrow

He makes you put two things together that can't come together
- the Satan is great at oxymoron’s
- an oxymoron means you put two words in a sentence, but those two words will never
come together
- for example, a bad angel or marital rape
- you cannot rape your wife because she is halal for you
- another example: Islamic democracy
- some of you live in Darul-Harb until you become confused.com

Bismillah...
…O People, it is true that you have certain
rights with regard to your women, but they
also have rights over you. Remember that
you have taken them as your wives only
under Allah’s trust and with His permission.
If they abide by your right then to them
belongs the right to be fed and clothed in
kindness. Do treat your women well and be
kind to them for they are your partners and
committed helpers. And it is your right that
they do not make friends with any one of
whom you do not approve, as well as never
to be unchaste…
This paragraph proves that in Islam; there is no oppression if the laws are
upheld
- because in Islam, everyone has rights
- therefore the husband, the wives, parents and children; all have rights
- if we give everyone their rights, no one will be oppressed
- the beauty of Islam is not in books, but it is in our character
- if we become the walking Quran, than the onlookers will see the beauty of Islam

Yazid ibn Yabnus said, "We went to 'A'isha and said, 'Umm al-Mu'minin, what
was the character of the Messenger of Allah (SAW), like?' She replied, 'His
character was the Qur'an. Can you recite the sura entitled "The Believers"?'
She said, 'Recite: "It is the believers who are successful: those who are
humble in their prayer; those who turn away from worthless talk; those who
actively pay zakat; those who guard their private parts." (23:1-5)' She said,
'That was the character of the Messenger of Allah (SAW).'" [al-Adab al-
Mufrad al-Bukhari, No. 308]

The beauty of Islam is not in the decorated masajid

- the beauty of Islam is in the character of the pious
- Allah said in 68:4

And indeed, you are of a great moral character. (Al-Qalam 68:4)

Forced marriages is haram in Islam

- the evidence of this is: 4:19

O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by
compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back]
part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality. And live
with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing
and Allah makes therein much good. (An-Nisa 4:19)

- be good towards women because she was created by the upper most rib

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Take my
advice with regard to women: Act kindly towards women, for they were
created from a rib, and the most crooked part of a rib is its uppermost. If you
attempt to straighten it; you will break it, and if you leave it alone it will
remain crooked; so act kindly toward women." [al-Bukhari (3331) and
Muslim (1468)]In another narration of al-Bukhari (5184) and Muslim (1468),
the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "A woman is like a rib, if you attempt to
straighten it, you will break it; and if you benefit from her, you will do so
while crookedness remains in her."In another narration of Muslim (1468),
the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'Woman has been created from a rib and
will in no way be straightened for you; so if you want to benefit from her, you
will benefit from her while crookedness remains in her. If you attempt to
straighten her, you will break her, and breaking her is divorcing her."

If women are oppressed, it is the men who oppress women, not Islam
- Allah did not oppress you

Abu Huraira (RA) reported that Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "The most
perfect of believers in belief is the best of them in character. The best of you
are those who are the best to their women." [Musnad Ahmad (2/472) No.
10110, Sunan Tirmidhi (3/466) No. 1162, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/220) No.
4682]

It is worthy of mentioning that if a woman disobeys her husband;

- she has lost her financial rights
- if a man did not maintain his wife financially; he has lost his sexual rights

…O People, listen to me in earnest, worship

ALLAH, perform your five daily prayers
(Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan,
and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj
if you can afford to…
The rasool (SAW) was sent for the propagation of bringing people back to
tawheed
- you are not allowed to take your Deen from those who are not qualified
- i.e. someone who does not speak Arabic

Ibn 'Umar related that the Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, said, "I
have been ordered to kill the people until they testify that there is no god
except Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and they
establish prayer and pay the zakah. If they do that, their blood and wealth
are protected from me save by the rights of Islam. Their reckoning will be
with Allah." [Related by al-Bukhari (25) and Muslim (22)]

We were commanded to worship Allah

- Alone without associating partners unto Him
- anyone who dies in a state of Shirk, will not be forgiven by Allah
- the evidence is: 4:48

Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is
less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah
has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin. (An-Nisa 4:48)
The ayah means if you die committing shirk, there is no hope for you
- also if you have relatives that die committing shirk, it is haram for us to beg Allah to
forgive them
- because there is no hope for them

It is not for the Prophet and those who have believed to ask forgiveness for
the polytheists, even if they were relatives, after it has become clear to them
that they are companions of Hellfire. (At-Tawbah 9:113);

…PERFORM YOUR FIVE DAILY PRAYERS…

Jabir (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “Between a man
(Muslim) and shirk and disbelief lies neglect of salah.” [Sahih Muslim
(1/88) No. 82, Sunan Tirmidhi (5/13) No. 2620, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/219)
No. 4678, Sunan Ibn Majah (2/181) No. 1078, Sunan An-Nasa'i (1/232) No.
463, Musnad Ahmad (3/370) No. 15021]

Abdullah ibn Shaqiq Uqayli (RA) reported, saying “The companions of

Muhummad (SAW) did not regard neglect of any of the deeds as disbelief as
they did (neglect) of Salah." [Sunan Tirmidhi (5/14) No. 2622 and Mustadrak
al-Haakim (1/48) No. 12 who said it met the conditions of al-Bukhari and
Muslim]

Abu Hurayrah narrated the Prophet (SAW) said: “The first thing among their
deeds for which the people will be brought to account on the Day of
Resurrection will be prayer. Our Lord will say to His angels, although He
knows best, ‘Look at My slave’s prayer, is it complete or lacking?’ If it is
complete, it will be recorded as complete, but if it is lacking, He will say,
‘Look and see whether my slave did any voluntary (naafil) prayers.’ If he had
done voluntary prayers, He will say, ‘Complete the obligatory prayers of My
slave from his voluntary prayers.’ Then the rest of his deeds will be examined
in a similar manner.” [Sunan Abu Dawud (1/229) No. 864, Sunan Tirmidhi
(2/269) No. 413, Sunan An-Nasa'i (1/232) No. 465, Musnad Ahmad (2/425)
No. 9490, Mustadrak al-Haakim (1/394) No. 965]

…FAST DURING THE MONTH OF RAMADAN…

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon
those before you that you may become righteous - (Al-Baqarah 2:183)
The other commandment of the Prophet (SAW) is:
- …GIVE YOUR WEALTH IN ZAKAH (PAY YOUR ZAKAH)…
- 9:34 comes to mind:

O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour
the wealth of people unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah. And
those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give
them tidings of a painful punishment. (At-Tawbah 9:34)

- what is a painful torment Allah is speaking about?

- your wealth will become black snakes biting you and speaking to you

Abu Hurayrah (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “If Allah gives a
person wealth and he does not pay zakaah on it, his wealth will appear to
him on the Day of Resurrection in the form of a bald-headed venomous snake
with two fangs in its mouth which will encircle him on the Day of
Resurrection, then it will hold him with its jaws then it will say: ‘I am your
wealth, I am your treasure.’” Then he recited (the verse): “And let not those
who covetously withhold of that which Allah has bestowed on them of His
Bounty (wealth) think that it is good for them… (Aali Imran 3:180)” [Sahih
Bukhari (2/106) No. 1403]

Abu Bakr as-Saddiq fought and killed people that did not pay zakat
- and took their women as concubines
- they were killed as infidels because their women were taken as concubines
- they denied one of the 5 pillars of Islam

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: When the Messenger of Allah (SAW) passed
away, Abu Bakr (RA) was appointed as his successor (caliph). Amongst the
Arabs some men apostatised. Abu Bakr (RA) resolved to fight them. 'Umar
bin Al-Khattab (RA) said to Abu Bakr: "How can you fight them when the
Messenger of Allah (SAW) has declared: 'I have been commanded to fight
people till they testify La ilaha illallah (there is no true god except Allah); and
if they do it, their blood (life) and property are secured except when justified
by law, and it is for Allah to call them to account." Upon this Abu Bakr (RA)
said: "By Allah, I would definitely fight him who makes distinction between
Salat and the Zakat, because it is an obligation upon the rich to pay Zakat. By
Allah I will fight them even to secure the piece of rope which they used to
give to the Messenger of Allah (SAW)." 'Umar (RA) said: "I realized that Allah
opened the heart of Abu Bakr (RA) for fighting those who refused to pay
Zakat, and I fully recognized that Abu Bakr was on the truth." [al-Bukhari
(1399, 1400) and Muslim (20)]

The other commandment of the rasool (SAW) is:

- …TO PERFORM THE HAJJ IF YOU ARE ABLE TO DO SO…
- when you see this commandment, 3:97 comes to mind

…And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for
whoever is able to find thereto a way… (Aali Imran 3:97)

Ali (RA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: “He who possess
enough food for the trip, a means of transportation to reach to Makkah, and
yet does not perform Hajj, then he dies, he would then die as a Jew or a
Christian...” [Sunan Tirmidhi (3/176) No. 812, Bayhaqi in 'Shu'ab al-Iman'
(5/443) No. 3692, Musnad al-Bazzaar (3/87-88) No. 861]

- the best muslim was the Prophet Muhammad (saws),

- yet he made Hajj only once in his lifetime
- if a woman makes Hajj without her mahram, her Hajj is accepted
- Nasir at-Tariri gave me this fatwa above

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab

has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a
non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab;
also a white has no superiority over black
nor does a black have any superiority over
white except by piety and good action.
Learn that every Muslim is a brother to
every Muslim and that the Muslims
constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall
be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to
a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely
and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice
to yourselves.
- when you read this, 49:13 comes to mind

O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you
peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble
of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is
Knowing and Acquainted. (Al-Hujurat 49:13)

- this ayah refutes racism, tribalism, nationalism, regionalism, feminism, classism,

ageism, male chauvinism, aristocracy, pigmentocracy etc

…LEARN THAT EVERY MUSLIM IS A BROTHER TO EVERY MUSLIM…

The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers.
And fear Allah that you may receive mercy. (Al-Hujurat 49:10)

Allah is saying that our brotherhood is based on la illaha illallah

- we do not acknowledge brotherhood based on asabiya
- because the Prophet (SAW) said a man who calls to asabiya is not one of us

Narrated Jubair ibn Mut’im: The Messenger of Allah (SAW), said: "He is not
one us who calls for `Asabiyah, (nationalism/tribalism) or who fights for
‘Asabiyah or who dies for ‘Asabiyah." [Sunan Abu Dawud (Vol. 2, pg. 753) No.
5121]

On the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
"One who defected from obedience (to the Amir) and separated from the
main body of the Muslims - if he died in that state - would die the death of
one belonging to the days of Jahiliyya (i. e. would not die as a Muslim). One
who fights under the banner of a people who is blind (to the cause for which
they are fighting. i. e. do not know whether their cause is just or otherwise),
who gets flared up with family pride, calls, (people) to fight for their family
honour, and supports his kith and kin (i. e. fights not for the cause of Allah
but for the sake of this family or tribe) - if he is killed (in this fight), he dies
as one belonging to the days of Jahiliyya. Whoso attacks my Ummah
(indiscriminately) killing the righteous and the wicked of them, sparing not
(even) those staunch in faith and fulfilling not his promise made with those
who have been given a pledge of security - he has nothing to do with me and
I have nothing to do with him." [Sahih Muslim (3/1477) No. 1848, Musnad
Ahmad (2/306) No. 8047, Sunan al-Nasa'i (7/123) No. 4114, Sunan Ibn
Majah (5/95) No. 3948]

…NOTHING SHALL BE LEGITIMATE TO A MUSLIM WHICH BELONGS TO A

FELLOW MUSLIM UNLESS IT IS GIVEN FREELY AND WILLINGLY…
- it means that to con a Muslim is haram
- to rip-off a Muslim is haram

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Anyone who
carries arms against us is not one of us. Anyone who cheats us is not one of
us." [Sahih Muslim (1/99) No. 101]

In one variant of his is that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) passed by a heap
of grain and put his hand into it and his fingers came upon some dampness.
He said, "Owner of this grain, what is this?" He said, "The rain caught it,
Messenger of Allah." He said, "Why did you not put it on top of the heap so
that the people could see it! Anyone who cheats us is not one of us." [Sahih
Muslim (1/99) No. 102]

- to usurp the property of a Muslim is haram

2564]
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (RA) said: A man came to the Messenger
of Allah (SAW) and said: O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if a man
comes wanting to take my property? He said: “Do not give him your
property.” He said: What if he fights me? He said: “Fight him.” He said: What
if he kills me? He said: “Then you will be a martyr.” He said: What if I kill
him? He said: “He will be in Hell.” [Sahih Muslim (Vol. 1, pg. 124) No. 140]

- to steal from a Muslim is haram

- to rob the orphan is haram

Indeed, those who devour the property of orphans unjustly are only
consuming into their bellies fire. And they will be burned in a Blaze. (An-Nisa
4:10)

- to borrow money with the intention not to pay it back

Abu Huraira narrated the Prophet (SAW) said: “The one who gets married
with the intention not to pay dowry to his wife is a fornicator. And the one
who borrows money with the intention not to pay back is a thief.” [Ibn
Hibban in ‘al-Majruheen’ (2/261) No. 941]

Suhaib al-Khair narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Any man who
takes out a loan, having resolved not to pay it back, will meet Allah as a
thief." [Sunan Ibn Majah (3/486) No. 2410]

We have so many people like this in the community

- who borrow money without paying it back
- they have no shame

…DO NOT, THEREFORE, DO INJUSTICE TO YOURSELVES…

- this statement means we are not allowed to oppress each other

On the authority of Abu Dharr al-Ghifaree (RA) from the Prophet (SAW) from
his Lord, that He said: O My servants! I have forbidden dhulm (oppression)
for Myself, and I have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one
another… [Sahih Muslim (4/1994) No. 2577]
Narrated By Anas: the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Help your brother
whether he is an oppressor or an oppressed," A man said, "O Allah's
Messenger! I will help him if he is oppressed, but if he is an oppressor, how
shall I help him?" The Prophet said, "By preventing him from oppressing
(others), for that is how to help him." [Sahih Bukhari (9/22) No. 6952]

Narrated By Ibn Abbas: The Prophet sent Mu'adh to Yemen and said, "Fear
the supplication of the oppressed, for there is no barrier between it and
Allah." [al-Bukhari (1496) and Muslim (19)]

Abu Hurayrah (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger said, "Three prayers are
surely answered: the supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the
traveller, and the supplication of the father for his son." [Sunan Tirmidhi
(5/502) No. 3448, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/30) No. 3862, Musnad Ahmad
(2/258) No. 7501, Sunan Abu Dawud (2/89) No. 1536]

It is worthy of mentioning that when you oppress people;

- you have to give them your salah, zakat, saum and hajj; on the day of judgement
- because the only currency Allah will accept on the day of judgement is your pious
deeds
- you and your US dollar can go to hell

Abu Huraira (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Whoever has
wronged his brother with regard to his honour or something, let him ask him
for forgiveness before the time when there will be neither dinar nor dirham,
and if he has any good deeds it will be taken from him in proportion to the
wrong he did, and if he does not have any good deeds (hasanaat), some of
the other person's evil deeds (sayi’aat) will be taken and given to him to
bear.” [Sahih Bukhari (3/129) No. 2449]

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Do you know
who is the bankrupt?" They said: "The bankrupt among us is one who has
neither money with him nor any property." He said, "The real bankrupt of my
Ummah would be he who would come on the Day of Resurrection with Salat,
Saum and Sadaqah (charity), (but he will find himself bankrupt on that day
as he will have exhausted the good deeds) because he reviled others,
brought calumny against others, unlawfully devoured the wealth of others,
shed the blood of others and beat others; so his good deeds would be
credited to the account of those (who suffered at his hand). If his good deeds
fall short to clear the account, their sins would be entered in his account and
he would be thrown in the (Hell) Fire." [Sahih Muslim (4/1997) No. 2581]

…Remember, one day you will appear

before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So
beware, do not stray from the path of
righteousness after I am gone…
All of you, when you see this statement; Surah al-Waqi’ah 56:1-3 comes to
mind
- because waqia means; the reality that you cannot escape from
- know that one day you will meet your Lord and answer to your deeds

When the Occurrence occurs, there is, at its occurrence, no denial. It will
bring down [some] and raise up [others]. (Al-Waqi’ah 56:1-3)

So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, And whoever does an
atom's weight of evil will see it. (Az-Zalzalah 99:7-8)

…DO NOT STRAY FROM THE PATH OF RIGHTEOUSNESS AFTER I AM GONE…

- Allah says also do not become Shia in 6:159

Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects - you, [O
Muhammad], are not [associated] with them in anything. Their affair is only
[left] to Allah; then He will inform them about what they used to do. (Al-
An’am 6:159)

- Shia means breaking up into splinter groups

But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in
what it has, rejoicing. (Al-Mu’minun 23:53)

Allah says in 23:53

- that one of the signs of the later times is that man will break into splinter groups
- and they will be happy with their aqeedah, even if it is a dodgy aqeedah
- aqeedah means their creed, their beliefs

…O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE

WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW
FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well,
therefore, O People, and understand words
which I convey to you. I leave behind me
two things, the QURAN and my SUNNAH,
and if you follow these you will never go
astray…
…NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH
WILL BE BORN…
- when you read this statement of the Prophet (SAW); 33:40 comes to mind

Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the
Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets. And ever is Allah, of all things,
Knowing. (Al-Ahzab 33:40)

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “My
likeness and the likeness of the prophets before me is the likeness of a
person who built a house, made it beautiful and made it complete, except the
place of a stone in the corner. So people began to go round and to wonder at
him and say: ‘Why have you not placed this stone?’ I am that stone and I am
Khatam an-Nabiyyin (the Seal of the Prophets)". [al-Bukhari (3535) and
Muslim (2286)]

Anyone who claims that there is a Prophet after Muhammad (SAW) is an

infidel
- you are not allowed to eat his slaughter
- he is not allowed in Makkah
- you cannot marry your daughter to him
- he cannot inherit the property of a Muslim
- when he dies, you are not allowed to wash him, pray over him
- or bury him in the graveyard of the Muslims
- this person is a 5 star kaafir
- this is the plight of the Qadiyani's and the Nation of Islam
- they are 5 star kaafirs because they believe in a prophet after Muhammad (SAW)

…I LEAVE BEHIND TWO THINGS, THE QURAN AND MY SUNNAH, AND IF YOU
FOLLOW THESE, YOU WILL NEVER GO ASTRAY…
- 4:59 comes to mind as you read the statement of the Prophet (SAW)

O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in
authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and
the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the
best [way] and best in result. (An-Nisa 4:59)

This is the most appropriate ayah to explain the words of Muhammad (SAW)
- Another verse, 33:36, comes to mind

It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His
Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any
choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has
certainly strayed into clear error. (Al-Ahzab 33:36)

You are not allowed to be self opinionated

- you have to surrender to Quran and Sunnah

But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O
Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among
themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you
have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission. (An-Nisa 4:65)

- Allah swore by Himself in the above ayah

Al-Hafiz Abu Ishaq Ibrahim bin 'Abdur-Rahman bin Ibrahim bin Duhaym
recorded that Damrah narrated that two men took their dispute to the
Prophet (SAW), and he gave a judgment to the benefit of whoever among
them had the right. The person who lost the dispute said, "I do not agree."
The other person asked him, "What do you want then" He said, "Let us go to
Abu Bakr As-Siddiq." They went to Abu Bakr and the person who won the
dispute said, "We went to the Prophet (SAW) with our dispute and he issued
a decision in my favor." Abu Bakr said, "Then the decision is that which the
Messenger of Allah (SAW) issued." The person who lost the dispute still
rejected the decision and said, "Let us go to 'Umar bin Al-Khattab." When
they went to 'Umar, the person who won the dispute said, "We took our
dispute to the Prophet (SAW) and he decided in my favor, but this man
refused to submit to the decision." 'Umar bin Al-Khattab asked the second
man and he concurred. 'Umar went to his house and emerged from it holding
aloft his sword. He struck the head of the man who rejected the Prophet’s
decision with the sword and killed him.
But no, by your Lord, they can
have no Faith, until they make you judge in all disputes between them... (An-
Nisa 4:65)). [Tafseer Ibn Katheer (2/351-352)]

…All those who listen to me shall pass on

my words to others and those to others
again; and may the last ones understand
my words better than those who listen to
me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I
have conveyed your message to your
people.”
[The last sermon of the Prophet (SAW) also known as Khutbatul
Wada’. It is mentioned in almost all books of Hadith. Sahih Al-
Bukhari refer to the sermon and quoted part of it. See Al-Bukhari,
Hadith 1623, 1626, 6361) Sahih of Imam Muslim also refers to
this sermon in Hadith number 98. Imam al-Tirmidhi has
mentioned this sermon in Hadith nos. 1628, 2046, 2085. Imam
Ahmad bin Hanbal has given us the longest and perhaps the most
complete version of this sermon in his Musnad, Hadith no. 19774]

…This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor
upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion… (Al-Ma’idah 5:3)
The above ayah is clear evidence that Muhammad (SAW) did not hide the
message
- he conveyed the message and fulfilled his mission

Tariq bin Shihab reported that a Jew came to 'Umar and said: "Commander of
the Faithful, there is a verse in your Book, which you recite. Had it been
revealed in connection with the Jews, we would have taken it as the day of
rejoicing. Thereupon he said: 'Which verse do you mean?' He replied: "...This
day I have perfected your religion for you and I have completed My favours
upon you and I have chosen al-Islam as religion for you... (Al-Ma’idah 5:3)"
Umar said, 'I know the day when it was revealed and the place where it was
revealed. It was revealed to Allah's Messenger (SAW) at 'Arafat on Friday."
[al-Bukhari (45) and Muslim (3017); the wording is from Muslim]

Even though the farewell khutbah was short he (SAW) did not leave anything
out
- it was comprehensive
- he covered all of the subjects that are relevant to social justice
- and to unite the various communities

Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: I have been
given superiority over the other prophets in six respects: I have been given
words which are concise but comprehensive in meaning; I have been helped
by terror (in the hearts of enemies): spoils have been made lawful to me: the
earth has been made for me clean and a place of worship; I have been sent
to all mankind and the line of prophets is closed with me. [Sahih Muslim
(1/371) No. 523]
