Bio:

The workshop on dance will be conducted by bina jawwad and her two daughters,
zainub jawwad and ismet jawwad. Bina Jawwad who has been conducting classes since
the past 40 years, Zainub conducting since 15 years and Ismet since past 8 years
have deviced and created their own syllabus which is followed in Lahore Grammar
School, Learning Alliance and many other educational networks.
Their workshop is based on this syllabus which will cover the basic exercises in
Kathak and the basic body movement of contemporary leading to achieving ease of
coordination within mind and body.

We will use dance as a tool to actively tackle blocks and inhibitions that might
arise due to social conditioning of our patriarchial and mysogynistic society. The
children will learn how to actively listen to their bodies and to bring the various
discordant elements into harmony.

Makaam-e-Aman:
Through the performance the audiences will be transported in the inner realm of
peace and harmony through music and dance. softness, mellow executing that energy
into the audiences (inner peaceful being/hearts). tool of music - raags, sufi poets
composition and using eastern tradition of ragas.

Harsakhian:
Troupe is basically Bina and her three daughters who are all trained eastern
classical/folk singers. Singing kalaam niche, revered saints of this society,
vernacular folk singers - oral tradition via from generation to generation, not
strictly document.

Bio:

Lawyer by profession, have been singing since the age of 5. And oh yeah musical
achievement Bin Roye and Zinda Bhaag. Learnt from Pervaiz Paras, Taj Asadee, Riaz
Ali Qadri and Baba Ghulam Muhammad Chand, Bina Jawwad.

APMC performed when 1988, recently in 2015. Mateela Film Festival, Solo Program
Amateur November 2016, also a member of Harsakhian who's performed both
domestically and internationally.
