I Chronicles 29: 10

David Praised the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly saying, “praise be to you, O LORD, God of our
father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.
PRAISE GOD IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES
We rejoice greatly in everything we do because God is an everlasting help in times of needs.
Aim: we always aim to have an everlasting relationship with God even though we undergo different trials in
our life.
The book is an open testimony for us, as we see the many circumstances that happened in the life of
Israel. They were conquered by the Assyrians, and the Babylonians. They always fight with the
philistines and at times they fought each other. However, at times they call unto God for help, God is ever ready
to hear them, to listen to their plea, understand them, and be always a refuge for them.
Brethren, as we move on with the message we are to consider these things…
1. Praise God in times of Terror
Terror means “to be feared”, dreadful, ---- at times when Judah was fighting the ammonites, and the arameans,
Joab said, “be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The LORD will do what
is good in His sight” (I chro. 19: 13).
we need not to fear our foes, but trust and fear God. God is terrible by reason of His awful greatness, his
infinite power, His inscrutable dealings, His perfect holiness, His covenant faithfulness, his strict justice and
dreadful judgment.
2. Praise God in times Failure
Failure means “to leave out” – in the course of time, Satan defiled David by enticing him to make a census for
Israel. He excluded Levi and Benjamin so God got angry with David. He punishes David because of it. But
David asked for forgiveness “He said, I have sinned greatly by doing this. Now I beg you, take away the guilt of
your servant. I have done a very foolish thing” (I Chro. 21: 8)
In I Chron. 21: 26 – David build an altar to the LORD there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship
offerings. He called on the LORD and the LORD answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt
offering.
3. Praise God in times of Destruction
Destruction means “to perish” – the friendship of David with king nahash of the Ammonites was destroyed by
Nahash’s son hanun by seizing david’s men, “Hanun seized David’s men, shaved them cut off their garments in
the middle at the buttocks, and sent them away” (I Chron. 19: 4)
4. Praise God in times of Depression
Depression means deposed, degraded, hindered or a change off from perfection to imperfection. David thought
that he will build the temple for the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD. But God hindered him. In I Chron. 17:
4, “go and tell my servant David, this is what the LORD says: you are the one to build me a house to dwell in”.
In verse 11, God said, ‘when your days are over and you go to be with your fathers, I will raise up you offspring
to succeed you, one of you own sons, and I will establishe his kingdom. in verse 12, it says “he is the one who
will build a house for me, and I will establishe his throne forever.
David answered, in verse 26 – 27, “O LORD, you are God! You have promised these good things toyour
servant. Now You have been pleased to bless the bhouse of your servant, that it may continue forever in you
sight; for You, O LORD, have blessed it, and it will be blessed forever”
5. Praise God with the utmost part of your heart
Utmost means “highest degree”, our text implies the highest degree of worshipping God from the innermost
part of our heart. Like David who went on through perils in life, he praised God though confronted not to build
a house for the LORD.
Summary and Conclusion:
It is the same with us, when depression, terror, failures, destruction comes our life we need to remember that
God is always there for us. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Psalms 46: 1
