Subject: Expand Conservation Through the National Wildlife Federation

Dear Mark,

Upon researching support to African leopards, I believe it would be beneficial to contact the National
Wildlife Federation and request a partnership and list African leopards as an adoptable animal on their
website.

Leopard Population Declining

Recently, we have made efforts to increase conservation of African leopards. The Limpopo leopard
conservation has done a wonderful job providing us with ways of tracking and learning about the
species; however, despite these efforts, their numbers continue to decline. As the leading African
conservation organization, we are the main line of defense against extinction. Until recently, leopards
were not the target of poachers but with the decline of the tiger’s population poachers have turned
their eyes to leopards. Because it is a recent event, not a lot of attention is currently being brought to
the declining numbers of this creature.

Partnership with NWF

Worldwide attention should be brought to this issue and to do so we should start by requesting
partnerships with other organizations. The United States of America is one of the world’s most powerful
countries and they have powerful conservation efforts. If we were to contact the National Wildlife
Federation (NWF), American’s largest organization, and request the African leopard be included in their
adoptable animals it would provide not only money but bring attention to the animal’s needs.

Conservation Benefit of Partnership

Currently, the only leopard that is adoptable in the NWF website is the snow leopard. This leopard is not
native to America, yet they support Asian effort to protect this species by gaining them money through
funding and attention. The money people spend adopting these animals can be used directly towards
conservation efforts such as new equipment and pay for more workers. As more people adopt these
animals, more people learn about the population issues they face. Many Americans simply may not be
aware of the issues the African leopard faces because it seems a world awaythey are on the other side
of the planet.

Marketing Benefit of Partnership

As part of the marketing team, we are responsible for gaining the public’s attention and support in
conserving the animals in our country. With the increased conservation money from NWF donations, we
could dedicate more funds to advertising conservations. An entire country is made more aware of the
issues leopard’s face and even if they do not provide the money by adopting one, the word will spread,
and more people will desire to adopt.

I hope you consider the possibilities NWF can provide.

and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,
