SYSTIMAX Products 1-1
Introduction
SYSTIMAX is a ‘Brand’ name for a group of structured cabling

products that contain many other ‘sub’ groups of products such
as ‘GigaSPEED’ and many trade-marked individual products
such as ‘iPatch’.
It is important to understand how these products relate to each
other, which Category they support and understand that all
SYSTIMAX copper products are ‘backwards compatible’.
Product choice and mix shall remain the remit of the SYSTIMAX
D&E trained Engineer.
SYSTIMAX Copper Product Range

SYSTIMAX is a ‘Brand’ name for SCS Products
PowerSUM exceeds CAT5E & GigaSPEED XL exceeds CAT6.
GigaSPEED X10D also exceeds the10GBaseT standards
CAT3 Products such as the M1 module and 1010 cables are
available for voice backbones

Copper Cables
It is no longer recommended by the standards to use CAT3

cables in the horizontal. CAT3 is allowed for use in the
backbone to support applications such as voice, BMS systems
and’ legacy’ systems.

SYSTIMAX cables are coded for jacket type (1 digit):
1= Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) to NEC code rating CM.
2= Plenum, consisting of Fluorinated-Ethylene-Propylene (FEP)
covered pairs and low-smoke PVC jacket to NEC code rating
CMP.
3= LSZH, High Density Polyolefin covered pairs and jacketed in
a low-smoke non-halogen compound to IEC332 part 3 fire code
rating.
Note:- Not all cables are available with different jacket types
Choice of these should remain that of a SYSTIMAX Qualified

D&E trained engineer.

1061/2061/3061 High Performance Cables (Exceeds CAT5E)
 This cable is available in all regions but in EMEA it is only

available in the 3061 LSOH version. In NAR it is available
in 1061 PVC jacket and 2061 plenum jacket versions only.
 The illustration shows a cross-section of SYSTIMAX high
performance UTP cable, released in 1990. All the
conductors are solid 24-gauge with low-loss insulation.
 The dotted lines represent the cylindrical space claimed
by the pair along the length of the cable because of the
tight twists. Around the cable is a low-loss sheath or
jacket.
 This cable is available on reels or in ‘We-Tote’ boxes.
When in ‘We-Tote’ boxes the cable is printed in footage
markings down from 1000ft in 2ft increments. This makes
the remaining amount in the box easily identifiable and
will reduce cable scrap.
 Note the 25 pair version of this cable is now CAT5
compliant.

 This cable is available in all regions but in EMEA it is only

available in the 3071 LSOH version. In NAR it is available
in 1061 PVC jacket and 2061 Plenum jacket versions only.

 GigaSPEED cables have a tighter, twist scheme than the
1061 cable, lower production tolerances and have a tighter
bundle twist, which improves the NEXT performance far
more.
 1071 does not require a central flute but has a bi-sector
tape to improve performance. It can be pulled from a ‘We-
Tote’ box. When in ‘We-Tote’ boxes the cable is printed in
footage markings down from 1000ft in 2ft increments.
This makes the remaining amount in the box easily
identifiable and will reduce cable scrap.

GigaSPEED XL 1571 XL is a Category 6 U/UTP Cable designed

to be run outdoors or buried. It has a black polyethylene jacket
and the pairs are contained inside it with a gel flooding
compound. The cable is suitable for those environments where
UTP has to be run externally. To protect this cable when run
outside, lightning protection devices are usually fitted at each
exit point of the buildings it is running between. Suitable
precautions should be taken to block the gel in the cable to
prevent it leaking out. To comply with standards the cable
should run no more than 5 meters into a building.

1091/2091/3091 GigaSPEED X10D High Performance
The 91 series cable is designed to give channel performance

exceeding Category 6A specifications and in addition has
substantially improved alien crosstalk performance by using a
unique inner finned jacket design.
The cable performance has been greatly improved using
SYSTIMAX Labs’ Cable Twist Accuracy Technology. Externally,
all 91 series cables have a round smooth shape for easy
handling and termination. The cables are designed to pass the
demanding 6-around-1 channel test that SYSTIMAX Labs
believes is the best measure of ‘real world’ performance in
installations including bundled cables. The test results account
for the power sum total of alien crosstalk noise from 24-pairs in
six cables surrounding a single 4-pair cable.
All 91 series cables have been specified to 500 MHz, to support
high bandwidth applications operating at 10 Gb/s. The X10D
UTP cable solution offers a guaranteed channel performance
above that of the standard.

The electrical performance is guaranteed to meet or exceed the

channel specifications of Amendment 1 to ISO/IEC 1180:2001
Class EA, and ANSI/TIA 568B.2-10 Category 6A, up to 500 MHz
when used as part of a GigaSPEED X10D UTP Channel in
registered SYSTIMAX installations.
The 4-pair construction features a finned inner jacket surface

and a flute member that provides the extra margin of
performance required for high-bandwidth applications. The
cable versions are:-
• ETL Listed - 1091B riser-rated CMR and CMG and 2091B

plenum-rated CMP
• IEC Certified - 3091B LSZH tested to IEC 60332-3, IEC 61034,
and IEC 60754-2
1091B and 2091B are ETL Verified Category 6A.
Packaging
The 91B cables are designed to support network speeds up to 10

gigabits per second, and qualify for the SYSTIMAX 20-Year
Extended Product Warranty and Applications Assurance when
included as part of a registered SYSTIMAX GigaSPEED X10D
channel.

91B cables come on reels, or in We-Tote® boxes for easy
installation, storage, and transportation. Various labeling will
identify the different cable jacket versions and the solution type.

1291/2291/3291 GigaSPEED X10D F/UTP Cable
 x291 is a 4 pair construction cable with an aluminum foil

tape and central ‘X’ flute. The flute provides the extra
margin of performance required for high bandwidth
applications.
 Used with the X10D F/UTP components this cable meets

the X10D guaranteed performance level.
 This cable is supplied on 305mt (1000-ft) reels

1010 Cables
The 1010 non-plenum cable design is composed of 24-gauge

solid copper conductors insulated with PVC and jacketed with
PVC. The 1010 cable provides a low-cost option for those
needing Category 3 capabilities. The 1010 cables are rated
CMR/MPR. This cable is intended for use in both the
horizontal and intrabuilding backbone elements of a structured
cabling system. 1010 cables are available in 4-, 25-, 50-, and 100-
pair sizes.

Category: - GigaSPEED X10D (CAT6A) compliant
Panel Description: - 32pr panels (8 x 4pr cables) in a 12 way or 4 way vertical frame.
The cables are punched down onto the blocks, cutting off the
excess tails with VP360 bits in a D Impact tool. They are then
terminated with 4pr dual row connecting blocks as required. A
clear plastic cover is fitted over the top making the cables
visible for checking. The patchcords ‘lock’ into place
preventing accidental disconnection whilst working on the
panel field. Can be wall mounted or panel mounted using
appropriate mounting frames.
Cable Applications: - Designed specifically for the X10D range of cables but can also
be used for GigaSPEED XL and also multipair cables for both
voice and data.
Common Sizes: - Available in 128pr (4 panel) or 384pr (12 panel) wall mounted
(4 or 12 way) frames. Supplied as kits complete with back
frame, wiring blocks, connecting blocks, cover and label
holders. Frames come ready snapped together and can be
extended vertically a maximum of 3 x 12 panel high as required
to make large patching fields.
Tooling Required: - Special VP360 bits which fit into the standard D-Impact tool
must be used using the High setting. These cut off 1pr of wires
at a time. There is also a 4pair bit available that fits the 788H1
tool. The 788H1 tool should also be used to seat the blocks
using the VP360 head.

PATCHMAX 360 Panel

Category:- GigaSPEED GS3 (CAT 6)
GigaSPEED GS6 (CAT6A)

Panel Description:- PATCHMAX panels allow for termination to be made from the
front or the rear because its 6-Jack modules can be pivoted
forward for access. The system also features the termination
manager component used on the 1100GS panels and cable
management at the rear. This panel can be terminated from the
front or rear making it very adaptable. Panels all have the
stainless style finish.

Cable Applications:- Suitable for wide range of cables but specifically designed for
use with the 91B series Category 6A 4pr cable.
Common Sizes:- Available in 24 and 48 port versions in both 1100 and

PATCHMAX style utilizing the same style 1100 6-port modular
jack modules. This panel has the cable support troughs
mounted on the rear bar to aid efficient cable management.

Panel Description:- 6 port modular jack modules mounted in 19” panels with cable
management hoops built onto front of panel. Unique design
allows modules to be hinged forwards for inspection and also
turned 135º for stable termination using the cable management
hoops.

Cable Applications:- Suitable for wide range of cables including multipairs, both
voice and data, and also 4pr cables.

together. It is designed to fit in M-series faceplates, Keystone

panels. Adapters available depending on outlet type required.

Cable Applications:- Suitable for all 4pr cables from SYSTIMAX range. Can also be
used for internal SYSTIMAX fiber terminations.

Additional Information:‐ This is a low profile box that has been designed to make it
ideal for consolidation point type applications. It has a slim
design being 203mm x 305mm x 38mm (8” x 12” x 1.5”)
allowing it to be installed in a variety of places, such as under
false floors, inside paneled furniture or even mounted on the
wall! The box utilizes four removable 6-way panels that can
take a variety of connectors including M series copper
modules, MGS600/MGS400 and MPS100E.
Being a universal ZWB, 6 way fiber panels can also be
supplied. These will hold the couplers for ST, SC and LC
connectors.
If using fiber terminations a fiber optic spool kit must be fitted
to allow the correct management of the fibers.

Can also be used for internal SYSTIMAX fiber terminations. If
used for the GigaSPEED X10D Solution, high density MGS
caps must be fitted.
Additional Information:- The CommScope® M36CPP Data/Communication Distribution

Box is a zone wiring box (i.e.consolidation point (cp)) that
provides 36 positions for CommScope copper and/or fiber
connectors. It is intended to mount above ceilings or below
floors in open office buildings. The M36CPP Distribution Box
Assembly comes with: connectors bracket, plenum cover,
plenum box, foam fence, fiber reel (optional to use), foam
retainer, bushing (optional to use), fire foam, interconnection
label and installation instructions. It measures 46mm x 485mm
x 359mm and weighs 6.2kg so is a big box! (1.82” x 19” x14”)

Cable Applications:- Suitable for 4pr cables from SYSTIMAX range x061 or x071.
Can also be used for internal SYSTIMAX fiber terminations.
The M32CCP and M48CCP Boxes can be used for
GigaSPEED X10D installations providing the high density
caps are fitted.
Additional Information:- The M32 is 332mm x 355mm x 110mm (13” x 14” x 4.25”) and is
specifically designed for underfloor / plenum type
applications. The design includes a rectangular knock-out
85mm x 65mm (3.35” x 2.56”) to be used in conjunction with a
standard dual gang electrical box. In addition to this there are
12 x 19.5mm (3/4”) knockouts, 6 per side that can be used for
glands or conduit.
The box has one fire foam entrance and four fire foam exit areas
for plenum rated cables.
The M48CCP has the same dimensions as the MC32CPP box
above and is to the same specification. The space for the extra
16 ports available in this ZWB has been gained by utilizing the
full box for the terminations excluding the 110A termination
block
The design of the box allows up to 32 ports of various
configurations using M series type copper modules, fiber
connectors as well as providing a space for a 100pr 110A
copper panel.

Faceplates

FACT SHEET

Information:- Faceplates vary between countries; with some the modules fit
directly to the rear and others require shutters. There are many
different varieties available in the SYSTIMAX range with flush
mount, surface mount and also designer faceplates for
furniture. Other options include 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 ports and even
flexible varieties. Reference should be made to the product
guide as these differ from region to region.
The single gang six-plex faceplates (M16, M26FP, M26C) will

only support 4 positions loaded with GigaSPEED X10D
MGS600 information outlets for the GigaSPEED X10D Solution.
The other positions can be used for other cabling types, but the
MGS600 must be grouped together either from the top or from
the bottom.

Additional Information:‐ GigaSPEED patchcords (CAT6 / XL) are high bandwidth cords
specially designed to support high performance system level
requirements built into the GigaSPEED XL cabling solutions.
The modular plugs apart from being easily identifiable with the
red insert, has an anti-snag feature making the cords easier to
use in the patch fields. There are many different versions
available including length, color and construction.

360GS10E Modular Patch Cords
The360GS10E modular patch cords are have solid conductor

cordage together with built-in anti-snag features on the
modular connectors. These cords are easy to recognize having
aqua inserts inside the RJ45 modular jack a blue colored insert
in the connector.
The cords are designed to be used with the 91B series 4pr cable
and are available in lengths from 1 meter. Being a smaller
diameter ( 7.11mm) than the standard X10D cords they offer
greater density in horizontal and vertical cable management.
VisiPatch 360 Cords
VisiPatch 360 (CAT6A/X10D) Cords are designed with rounded

connecting blocks making them snag free. Available in 1pr and
4pr configurations for cross connects. Hybrid cables from
VP360 to RJ45 modular jacks are also available.

products. There are a large variety of options for both cables
and administration panels. All require termination to the
