of VIGO
STEP ONE, configuring the USB PD3950 modules
Step note
Before running step one, please insert the USB PD3950 modules into the PC, in the order of systems.
Example; you have 3 systems, insert the module connected to system 1 first ending with the module
that is connected to system 3. If you have multiple networks on the same system (More PD3950
modules for 1 system), insert the first network, then the second and so on.

Extra notes
- Normally for a carousel system with a palletizer the carousel is the first network and the
palletizer is the second.
- On a Flexspeed system, insert the carousel first, then the standalone machines, then the
palletizer (If any)

Each of this guide lines needs to be done once for every PD3950 module that is being connected,
with the exception of Guide line 3.

To configure the PD3950 modules first open the VIGO application, by clicking the VIGO shortcut that
has been installed onto the Desktop

Guide line 1, settings up masters


Inside the VIGO Software, locate KC_CUC: and unfold this. Now locate PD3950 and unfold this
aswell. Right click the PD3950 field and click "Set P-NET Node Address" as shown in the below
picture

A new Window will open, prompting "No Response, timeout" ("Ikke noget svar, tid udløbet" in
Danish in the screenshot):
As shown above, type in the Serial number that is locate on the label on the PD3950 black module in
the textbox saying "Serial Number". Then type in "4" in the textbox saying "Number of Masters" and
click Apply. You window will now change to the following:

If the window reports the error 1168 after doing this (Net short circuit) then swap the A and B wires
on connected to the PD3950 module.

When the windows looks like the above, close it.


Guide line 2, Setting up license
Next thing we need to do is to setup the License for VIGO. Do this by entering the License menu
found in the top under "Files -> License -> License Server":

Clicking this will open the following window:


As shown first select "License Server" from the Get VIGO License from dropdown box. After having
done this, type or select (See below) " KC_CUC:USBModules.USB interface 1.PD3950 USB To PNET
Interface net1" in the License Server textbox.

It's possible to select the workspace to check for license. To do this click the "MIB" button to the
right of the License Server field to allow for selection inside the workspace. Here select the "PD3950
USB To PNET Interface net1" as shown in the following image.

When selected (You will need to double click) press Ok and the window will close. If there's no error,
the license has been successfully located.
Guide line 3, setting up Baudrate

To allow for configuration of the Baudrate, the writeenable flag needs to be set to true. In order to
do this navigate to the WriteEnable flag as shown in the below image. This images shows only for
the USB interface 1, but the procedure is the same for each USB interface (PD3950)

When found and selected, enable the value field, by clicking on the value checkbox in the top
When checked, the window will look as the following

Here type in True instead of False and press ENTER. Doing this will set WriteEnable to enabled.

When WriteEnable has been set, it will be possible to set the Baudrate. To do this navigate to the
Baudrate field as shown below. Here set the value in the value field to 9600 and press enter. Repeat
this step for each module.
