1 Introduction

Microwave Active Denial System (ADS) takes electronic control system of the
target as attacking object, it adopts non-lethal directional high power microwave to
disable the normal operation of the electronic device or cause its failure..

2 System Composition

The main composition of the proposed microwave ADS is shown as below, and
the sytem block diagram is shown as Fig.1:

¾ Converse Power Supply(PS): Converse the storage battery DC24V

into AC220V

¾ Charging PS: provide primary energy

¾ Pulse power generator: multi-level energy storage and accumulation

¾ Gas circuit control system: provide insulating gas

¾ High power signal generator and antenna array: generate RF signal

and radiate into space.

Function

The main effective objects of the mobile microwave ADS are the electronic
control system of modern vehicles, it can attack the control units of vehicle to

disable it, so as to force the target vehicle to stop. This system can also be
used to jam against the illegal use of video/audio digital device, thereby
prevent secret recording. Besides, the microwave ADS can jam against the
remote controller of IED by utilizing the high power pulse signal to disable it.

Applications

In case the terrorists/suspects drive into important sites, break the barriers or
escape, the microwave ADS can force the suspects’ vehicle to stop, so as to
reduce the harmfulness of the criminal activities.

Main Features

¾ By utilizing electromagnetic wave to attack suspect target to stop it

quickly without contact;

¾ With fast scanning of electromagnetic wave, no consideration of

ballistic trajectory, it can be up to 100% shooting;

¾ Special operating principle, harmless to personnel;

¾ Disguised installation and easy operation;

¾ By generating high power pulse, it can disorder/break the function of

electronic devices in the application of anti-IED
(Improvised-Explosive-Device).

Function

The portable microwave ADS is used to jam or destroy the electronic device
(such as digital camera, monitor, laptop, etc.) in certain area, it can cause
the device lose normal function temperately or permanently and prevent
illegal data collection effectively without any physical contact.

Main Features

¾ Disturb the normal operation of electronic device such as

communication terminal, camera, monitor, wireless eavesdropping
device, computer and network, etc.

¾ The installation of the equipment can satisfy the requirements of

camouflage and disguise.

¾ The system adopts storage battery for power supply, which can be
charged by commercial power.
