FD2000
Beam smoke detector 10 - 100m

General

The FD2000 series products consists of an infrared transmitter,

a receiver and a control unit. They are designed to be used
where point smoke detectors are not applicable due to height or
inaccessibility. The control units have relay outputs for alarm
and fault and may therefore be monitored by all types of fire
panels.

Installer friendly

The control unit, which contains the threshold settings and test
meter output, may be conveniently mounted at ground level.
Wiring is restricted to a minimum as no connection is required
between transmitter and receiver. The low power consumption
of the units allows the powering of multiple sets from a single Standard Features
power supply without compromising the system's autonomy.

A wireless alignment tool reduces installation time considerably. E Range from 10 to 100m
On difficult sites the receiver and transmitter may be used in E Up to ceiling heights of 25 m
reflective mode by mounting the transmitter and receiver next to E 12 to 24 VDC
each other and using passive reflectors. E Low current consumption

When smoke is present in the beam path, the received signal is E Retro operation through prisms
reduced by a level determined by the density of the smoke. In E Ground level electronics
the event of the smoke reducing the signal strength between E Easy wiring and alignment
the obscuration threshold and 93% for a period between 8 to 10 E Conforms to BS5839 part 5
seconds, the fire alarm output is activated. To optimise for every E VdS approved
environment, the units provide three selectable alarm E Atex flame-proof version
thresholds, each set for a different % obscuration.

An automatic gain control prevents nuisance alarms caused by

long term signal degradation, e.g. in the case of dirt build up.
Total obscuration (> 90%) will generate a fault and not an
alarm.
