To Whom It May Concern,

My name is --------------- and I taught -------------- at ----------- Secondary School. I have known ----------- for
three years and taught her for two years in my biology class.

--------- has repeatedly demonstrated her commitment to her own education. The situation at her home
never deterred her from working extra hard to achieve her childhood goal. She is one persistent child.
Being one of the youngest teachers in the school, I was reluctant to become her mentor but she kept
pestering me with activities and past examination questions she wrote, even outside biology. She
finished her biology syllabus within the first term which gave her ample time to revise and actually
practise on her fellow students. She has always been a forerunner and takes initiative whenever tasks
are given, like when I placed her with the weakest students in a debate. She took it upon her stride to do
all the research and managed to present convincing points which in turn motivated her teammates and
they won. Failure is not an option for her. Determined and selfdriven it even shows with the excellent
marks she scores.

--------- is equally vibrant. She demands command in everything she does in a pleasant manner. She
refuses to associate with people who do not share the same mindset she is in, which is mature and
focused. She is affiliated to many youth organizations and is not selfish with her brilliant mind. When
she was nominated to be head girl, she gracefully declined stating she had “many souls to save”,
referring to the students she tutors in lower classes. Opinioned as she is, she even led students to write
a petition requesting the school head to build new computer lab and have internet access in the school,
just because she had difficulty researching for her agriculture project.

Having risen above her poor background and even more driven, I believe ------ is an asset everywhere
she lands. Her determination and hunger for success makes her dynamite and she would pull every stop
to prove she is worth it, given an opportunity. She has mastered the art of working hard, coming from
schools of poor technology and not enough teaching aids, she has learnt to push to achieve. Selfless and
kind she is, gives motivation to other children who want to rise above their current situations. ------ is
worth investing in and given a chance.

Yours sincerely,

(Teacher’s name)
