Formulate Your Super


Power into a Simple Statement
Now that you’ve gotten some insight into your super power. Take a few
moments to formulate your unique gift into a short, simple statement.
This statement isn’t for anyone other than you. It doesn’t need to be perfect.
It’s simply designed to help you recognize and remember your super power.
Once you know this about yourself, you can even evaluate tasks
opportunities through the lens of is this aligned with my unique abilities? If
not, you may want to consider delegating that task to someone else or
turning down that opportunity to make space for things that are truly in your
genius zone.
Here’s an example of my Super Power Statement:
Conveying the essence of who someone really is through words, images and
experiences.

Step 1. Who You Are
Prioritize the 6 attributes that comprise who you are and how you make
people feel based on how important you think they are to your personal
brand:

Label these from 1-6 with 1 being the most important.

If you think a particular attribute is essential to how you come across in the
world -- just like the horns, back and undercarriage of our bull -- also put a
star next to it. Because these are the elements you really want to accentuate
and amplify. These are the elements that allow you to become MORE of who
you already are and tap into the YOUest version of you.

Step 2. What You Do


Take a moment to prioritize the 3 elements of what you do or the results you
get for yourself and others.
But a star by any elements that you feel truly set you apart. Remember that
you don’t need to star any of these if they don’t feel essential to what makes
you YOU.

Step 3. What You Produce


Prioritize the 6 elements of what you produce or how you express who you
are and what you do through the assets you create. Label them in order of 1-
6 where 1 is the most important. Put a star next to any that truly accentuate
what makes you different.

Step 4. Who You Know
Never forget that your personal brand happens at the intersection of you and
your audience. It’s a
combination of how you present yourself and how your audience receives
you. The attributes you embody and express and how those attributes impact
your audience.
The relationships in your life can form a huge part of your personal brand.
Take a moment now to prioritize and star the 3 elements of WHO YOU KNOW:

Step 5. Prioritize Your Top 3-5


Elements
Now that you’ve prioritized all 4 areas of your personal brand blueprint -- who
you are, what you do, what you produce, and who you know -- it’s time to
choose the top 3-5 elements that really differentiate you in the market. Just
like the horns, back and undercarriage of Picasso’s bull.

This, of course, may change as you work your way through Personal Brand
Power, but I think it’s important to choose your priorities now and then adjust
from there. That way, you’ll know where to focus your attention and effort.
I’m going to teach you all these elements over the next 4 modules, but I want
you to know that you can’t be and do it all.
A personal brand becomes powerful in that it’s a caricature of sorts, just like
Picasso’s bull, you’re choosing the elements that really reflect the essence of
who you are, and you’re stripping away or de-emphasizing the things that
don’t matter quite as much.
So your exercise for the week is to not only choose the top 3-5 elements of
your personal brand (and actually number them in order of importance) but
to start observing these elements in other people, especially the people you
admire and follow.
I’ll also be building out the Personal Brand Showcase as we work our way through this course, so
you have another place to turn to for ideas and inspiration.
