Lesson plan Defining and non-defining relative clauses

Name:
Date:
Time:
Class/ Level:
Stage of course:

Aims:
a. General – to review and practice defining and non- defining relative clauses
b. Specific:
- to review and practice the English pronouns
- to review and practice the relative pronouns
- to review and practice the relative adverbs
- to review the grammar of defining and non- defining relative clauses

Possible problems:
Some students might have discipline problems. Some students might not know the
English pronouns – that is way I consider relevant to start the lesson with a revision of
them first, than to move to relative pronouns and their uses. Some students might feel
uncomfortable coming to the blackboard and writing/ transforming pronouns and
sentences in front of their classmates.

Teaching techniques:
Communicative, deductive and inductive methods are going to be used.
Eliciting, dialogue, grammar games and drills, rewriting drills, transformation
drills, gap filling, pair and group work …
