I have read the class syllabus and understand that:
I must check Mr. Anwar’s website at: https://lajoyabiology.weebly.com for updates prior to each class
period so that I come prepared. I must check Mr. Anwar’s website at https://lajoyabiology.weebly.com for
updates whenever I am absent from class so that I am aware of what I missed.
If I am absent, I am responsible for getting in touch with the teacher to turn in work that was due on the
date of absence AND to establish a timeline for makeup work that was assigned during the date(s) of
absence(s). I WILL NOT ASK FOR EXTRA TIME IF I FORGET.
If I missed a test/quiz on the date of absence, I must be ready to make it up on the date of return, or
otherwise prearranged with the teacher.
BEFORE returning to class, if any exceptions are to be made, I am responsible for knowing upcoming
quiz and test dates. I am not excused from a test/quiz if I am absent the class day prior to the
scheduled test/quiz. Exceptions must be prearranged (teacher has time to respond to request) with my
teacher through email or phone call, either by myself or through my parent(s), BEFORE the day of the
test/quiz.
I am responsible for getting any missed class notes from Mr. Anwar’s website or from a classmate.
Being absent does not exempt me from learning information that I missed. I will be held responsible
for ALL the work I miss
Assignments and test/quiz scores are Studentvue and Parentvue. I am responsible for keeping track of my
own grade, and that if it falls below a C average, I must contact my teacher to establish a strategy for
improving it. While I am encouraged to work collaboratively with my classmates, I shall not ask
anyone to allow me to copy his/her work, so I could receive credit. I shall not receive any credit as a
result of such action, and my parent(s) will be notified. Recurrent incidences will result in further
disciplinary action. I shall not solicit information from other students about the content of any test/quiz,
nor reveal the contents of any test/quiz. Such action is considered cheating and will result in disciplinary
action.
