MISSIONS UPDATES
Tim & Marsha Judy—As Tim and I
were driving home, we pulled to a stoplight
and sat for the light to change. In that
minute, I Iooked around at people wearing
heavy coats, scarves and even some in
boots. It hit me - fall was here! In just a
couple of weeks, we experienced a serious
change in weather. We’re going through
serious change constantly because we’re
preparing to move back to the states next
Spring. That means....I don’t want to miss
“the last anything” here in Ukraine. There is
more work here to do. There isn’t a day that
goes by that I don’t say to the Lord
“whatever you want, wherever you want”.
Please pray for us not to miss anything the
Lord has for us to do while we are here.

Burmese families as they are separated from
loved ones are our concern. Some are left
behind in Myanmar while younger ones
come to Thailand to find work and send
money back home. Pray that we will be

Sermons covering the Book of Philippians
have been translated into Burmese and are at
the printers. Pray this will be a tool to keep
young pastors and cell leaders "on track" as
they teach God's Word. Continue to pray as
our work progresses in the translation of the
Sermon on the Mount and the Book of Mark
into sermons. It is really indescribable what
our Lord and Savior Jesus has done and
continues to do in the lives of the Burmese
people. The election in Myanmar is Nov 7.
Pray for a miracle and freedom of the people.
Dave & Terri McInnis— Just pray for
David to get his strength back. It’s been
hard this time. The PET is scheduled for
Sept 23rd which will tell us if the cancer is
gone and then we can go from there. Thanks
so much for your prayers and keeping us in
the loop.

most of Spain placing their hopes and trust in
images/statues (saints and or works). You
see Spaniards wearing jewelry with their
patron saint on it, as a protection from harm
and a safety net against bad things happening
to them. You see thousands of Spaniards
line the streets during the Easter week to pay
respect to their patron saint or the statues of
other saints. Spaniards who made a promise
for something during the year or on
someone's behalf will walk in the procession
as a form of payback to their patron saint.
Religion in Spain is marked by tradition and
superstition. There is a lot of mysticism and
new age type of beliefs. You don't see
Spaniards praying very much at all, let alone
in public. Religion is a super private thing
for Spaniards today. They will talk about
almost any other topic, but not religion. In
post-modern Spain religion just doesn't play
a part in most Spaniard's lives. The younger
generation has basically no foundation of
what the Bible says or means in their lives.
In Spain the most important thing is
whatever makes you feel good.

September has been a month of great growth for the Music Ministry! As we resumed our Fall
Program, I never thought we would see such a BIG increase in attendance for the children, youth
and Cornerstone Choir! Thanks to all the parents for their support of the children’s/youth choirs.
The NEW High School Ensemble is up and running...we have 18 enrolled! There is still time for
anyone at any age to join one of the many choirs. Come see and hear what we are doing . . .

It is getting close to that time of year again. This will be our 8th year playing in the NWBA —
Northwest Basketball Association.
All students in Middle School and High School who are not playing school ball are invited to play in this
exciting league. The first game will be January 8th and the season will conclude with a tournament
March 3rd - 5th. As in the past there will be four Divisions. There will be a HS and MS girls league and
a HS and MS boys league. Registration forms are available in the FLC or in the Church Office.
Registration fees are $20 per person. Students are encouraged to invite their non-church friends to
play; however only 4 non-church members are allowed on each team.

Church-wide Prayer Focus for
October:
PRAYING FOR THE WORLD
October's First-in-Prayer focus will be a
month-long time of prayer for the
world. This will coincide with the
World Vision's Day of Prayer 2010 on
Friday, October 1st. There are variations
as to the number of countries, but 195
includes the 192 members of the United
Nations, plus the Vatican City and
Kosovo, and Taiwan. Are there 195
individuals/families at Cornerstone that
are willing to commit to pray for one
country (or more) for 31 days? Our aim
is to cover the entire world in prayer for
the month and beyond.
For the month of October, there will be
a world map on display in the
Commons. Please stop by and pick a
country to pray for and sign your
name on it! Perhaps, your family is
from there, or you visited that country

life-changing things he suggests is to
pray for the world. He suggests a site
for detailed information on every nation

Over the course of a year you could
pray intentionally for every nation.

Praying for Teachers, staff, students
and families: PRAISE: Let us praise
the LORD and HIS call for us to pray.
Last month teachers and others were
recognized in a special Sunday eve
Prayer Service. The following
Wednesday night Back-to -School-Bash
offered a Prayer Booth for students to
come and pray for their teachers. The
teachers they prayed for, if the student
desired, received a copy of that prayer to
encourage them and saying which
student had prayed for them. Let us pray
that those students and teachers would
be blessed by the LORD…

prayer for teachers, staff, students, and

THE OCTOBER LIBRARY THEME IS “Fall for Jesus…At the Library.” The Fall-themed
bulletin board and window display feature many new Christ-centered books and DVDs. Come by and take a look!

ICE CREAM SOCIAL AND STOCK THE LIBRARY EVENT – There was a great turnout for ice cream and fellow-
ship on Sunday night, September 19th. The Cornerstone library received over 65 donated books and DVDs that everyone can
enjoy for many years to come. In addition, Lifeway is sending a check for approximately $270 which was 15% of the total sales
that evening. The library also received generous monetary donations from individuals in the congregation. This money will be
used to purchase new materials for the library throughout the year. Thank you for supporting your church library!

Blue barrels are located in the Commons
and beside the WEE School Office.
Each month a food item is collected in
the barrels and donated to local agencies
who give the food items to those in need.
