Material Manager

The Material Manager is a separate program that can be started in Layplan using the button Edit
Quantity Lists. The quantity list created in Layplan, including the project data, is automatically
transferred to the Material Manager.

The Material Manager can be opened for editing independently of Layplan.

Program interface

The left-hand side of the screen contains folders, which in turn contain the quantity lists drawn
up.
Layplan enters the complete quantity list for the birdcage or cylindric scaffold into a folder during
transfer. The contents of the selected folder, folder information or the project data can be
displayed on the right-hand side of the screen.

In the lower part of the screen is the complete article catalog, from which articles can be
transferred to individual folders.

Editing the Quantity List

Mark the line (click on left-hand button) to activate the Qty. box for overwriting. The new quantity
can be entered (overwrite mode). Click directly into the Qty. box to obtain the insertion mode.

Click

Add article – A marked article is transferred from the article catalog in the specified quantity to
the current folder

Delete position – the line marked in the current folder (Art. Pos.) is deleted.

Edit special parts – Articles not contained in the article catalog can be entered.

Accelerator

Underneath the indicated quantity list is the Accelerator box. If you know the article number of
an article to be added, you can enter it into the left-hand box. Press ENTER to go to the right-
hand box, where you enter the quantity and then confirm it by pressing ENTER. The article is
transferred to the current folder.

Folders

When transferring from Layplan to the Material Manager, for example in the case of a facade
scaffold, a folder with the appropriate materials needed is created for each facade. The weight
and the price are displayed.

New folder – creates a new empty folder

Delete folder – removes the marked folder

Copy folder – copies the marked folder

+Autocad – the parts lists previously created and saved in Autocad are transferred to the
marked folder

+Layplan – quantity lists previously generated in Layplan and saved are entered

+Scafplanner – data can be transferred from the older scaffolding construction software
SCAFPLANNER

The date and the name can be changed by clicking on the appropriate box.

Under Factor, you can enter a factor for the overall quantity list – individual facades that are
identical only have to be counted once and then receive the required factor.

This factor can also be negative, for example to allow construction sections to be deducted from
a material pool (e.g. folder 1).

View

Total list – Sum of all folders incl. the factors

Maximum list – From the individual folders, the maximum quantities in each case are
combined, e.g. for ascertaining the total material requirement when
sections of a construction project have to be successively provided with
and then cleared of scaffolding.

Missing material – If folders are deducted from one another, the negative quantities can be
displayed here.

Report

With Report, material lists can be printed or exported.

Printing of the logo and of the prices can be deactivated.

Data can be exported or sent by email from the print preview.

Tools – Settings

User-specific settings can be made here.

In addition to project and import directories, a stock file can also be automatically inserted as
Folder 1 prior to each program startup.

The catalog file is up to date at the initial installation, and the path stated is initially empty. In the
event of changes to the catalog file, updates can be entered at "1 st Catalog file” or “2nd Catalog
file”.

The VIS configuration permits connection of the Material Manager to other sales systems
(optional).

SOFTWARE LICENCE AGREEMENT
Subject of the contract
Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG grants a licence to use the software listed herein to the
Licensee subject to the conditions of this contract.
Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG reserves the right to offer future goods and services including
software, updates, upgrades and support services subject to changed conditions; there is
no legal entitlement to this. Without prejudice to this reservation, this contract shall be
deemed to be a Framework Agreement for all Layher software products for which the
Licensee will order or acquire licences in the future.
The contract shall come into effect by a written and mutual agreement or by an
order/confirmation of order which is confirmed by Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG.
Granting of a licence
The Software Licence Agreement gives the Licensee the right to use a copy of the Layher
software product which is acquired with this licence on an individual computer subject to
the condition that the software is only used on one computer at all times. Any change of
the defined computer may only be made with the approval of Wilhelm Layher GmbH &
Co. KG. If the Licensee has acquired multiple licences, it may always only have the number
of copies in use for which it owns licences.
The Licensee may only exercise the usage rights conferred in this contract after it has paid
the licence fee in full.
Restrictions
The Licensee shall not be entitled to sell or loan the software, but it shall be entitled to
transfer the rights arising from this Software Licence Agreement on condition that the
Licensee hands over all copies of the software and the entire written accompanying
materials and the recipient declares in writing that it accepts this Software Licence
Agreement. The change in the usage rights shall be notified to Wilhelm Layher GmbH &
Co. KG when it arises by sending the signed Software Licence Agreement.
The software may not be transmitted by telecommunication except for support purposes.
The Licensee may not attempt to break the software down to its components (disassemble),
break it down to object codes (decompile), simulate it (reverse engineering), modify it in
any way whatsoever or use it in any way that does not comply with these contractual pro-
visions. The Licensee may not in any way change the authorisation code which it receives
from Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG.
Updates, upgrades to the licensed software
Insofar as any updates and upgrades are implemented, Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG
shall endeavour to design them in such a way that they normally include the functions
and features of the previous version to the same extent or a similar extent. However,
upgrades may contain deviating functions and features and be subject to a new program-
ming logic.
Changes in the software to bring it into line with the latest technical knowledge may
mean that the import of stored project data could require conversion work and extra
manual input by the Licensee of the upgrade, e.g. to add individual parameters and/or to
fill newly added data fields.
In any case, the installation of an update/upgrade always requires careful and thought-
ful organisational preparations. Before installing any update or upgrade, the Licensee
shall be obliged to obtain information about any different performance features, program
sequences and data structures and the effects that these may have on its specific appli-
cation, and to make a backup of its existing data.
Warranty
The contractual software is designed for a variety of possible applications and is unable
to take into account every conceivable application in all its details. No specific characte-
ristics of the software are agreed and assured apart from the explicitly documented per-
formance features. Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG does not guarantee the accuracy or
applicability of the results obtained from the use of the program or the user manual.
Status April 2006
Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG guarantees for a period of 90 days from the date of
receipt that the software generally works in accordance with the accompanying product
manual.
Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG excludes any further warranty for the software, the asso-
ciated manuals and the written materials which accompany the software.
The Licensee shall support Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG in localising any defect by
providing printouts, system descriptions or data.
Limited liability
Any liability of Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG for damage or loss suffered by the licensee
on any legal grounds – including delay, impossibility of fulfilment, inferior fulfilment and
extra-contractual (tortious) liability – is excluded unless the damage or loss results from
a violation of a significant and major contractual duty (cardinal obligation) by Wilhelm
Layher GmbH & Co. KG or is caused by any gross negligence or deliberate action of
Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG.
In no case shall Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG be liable for any consequential damage
or loss which is atypical and therefore not foreseeable. Similarly, Wilhelm Layher GmbH
& Co. KG shall not be liable for damage or loss insofar as the Licensee could have prevented
it from occurring by taking reasonable action - especially by making program and data
backups and by providing sufficient product training for the users.
In any case, any liability of Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG shall be limited to the amount
which the Licensee has actually paid for the product.
Copyright
The software is the property of Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG and is protected from
copying by copyright laws, contracts and treaties and other national and European legal
provisions.
The Licensee may either make a single copy of the software exclusively for back-up
purposes or archiving or transfer the software to a single hard disk insofar as the Licensee
stores the original exclusively for back-up and archiving purposes.
Disassembling, decompiling and reassembling of the software are not permitted. Under
no circumstances may the Licensee remove notices concerning copy protection or property
rights from the software or its copies.
The Licensee shall not be entitled to make copies of the software manuals or any other
written materials which accompany the software.
Violation of the licence conditions
Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG shall be entitled to terminate the licence agreement in
the event of any serious violations. The usage right of the Licensee shall cease when the
notice of termination is received. Any copies which still exist shall be destroyed.
A serious violation shall especially be deemed to exist if the Licensee violates its agreed
obligations and restrictions or if it makes contractually prohibited copies of Layher soft-
ware.
Supplementary provisions
The General Terms of Business of Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG and any other enclosed
special Terms of Business for specific products shall apply as supplementary provisions to
this agreement.
No supplementary agreements to this contract have been made. Any changes to this
contract must be agreed in writing; this also applies to any waiver of this requirement of
written form. If any individual provisions of this contract should be or become invalid, this
shall not affect the validity of the other provisions.
