NEW ERA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF LAW LOGO DESIGN

My take on the need for a new design for the New Era University, College of Law
Logo took inspiration in a combination of both classical, modern and symbolism that in
my opinion is a well thought design in regards to aesthetics and convenience when it
comes to use for various printing materials.

First of let’s start from the exterior shape, I used a CIRCLE OR SPHERE design
in which it represents a cycle where such like the study of Law, is a continuing study even
after one becomes a member of the bar in relation to Canon 5 of the Code of Professional
Responsibility. Because the study of law in an evolutionary cycle to which “a lawyer be
updated in the latest laws and jurisprudence. Indeed, when the law is so
elementary, not to know it or to act as if one does not know it constitutes gross
ignorance of the law.” (A.C. No. 6353, 27 February 2006).

For the shape background I used a “METALLIC GOLD GRADIENT PALLET” to

which to give it a realistic Gold design. An outline of “PURPLE” Color like to its meaning
it represents a combination of the stability of blue and fierce of red, it often associate with
power, ambition, dignity and wisdom.

The Font used for the School name and College is “COPPERPLATE GOTHIC
BOLD” that is in a semi-circle to be perfectly fitted inside the circle design

Now let us proceed to its inner circle design, for the is a plain “WHITE CIRCLE
WITH A PURPLE OUTLINE” to which White represent goodness, simplicity and faith and
it is a convenient use when it comes to commercial use. Overall is a combination of the
INC Flag and symbolism of justice.

The “GREEN KOTONIS OR LAUREL WREATH” represents victory and honor to

which it is reference to the Greek and Roman Times. As such the wreath has 9 pair of
leaves and a single leaf in the end to which it represents the usual years it take for a
person to study Law from the undergrad which take 4 years, law school by 5 years with
the time to study for the bar exams and the single leaf that represents victory in one’s
sacrifice to be better. Also the Foundation year can be found in its center in
“RICHARDSON BRAND REV BOLD” font.

The FIDES, DEUS, LEGIS align with the School’s core value is placed below the
scale in ““RICHARDSON BRAND REV BOLD” font and Purple color.

Lastly, is the various combination of the center logo, it is a variation of a torch,

sword which is also similar in color to the external background gradient with a outline and
details of purple while the shield is in a silver color with a candelabrum. The Scale is a
combination of a “SCALE, TORCH AND SWORD”, where the SCALE represents balance
which Lady Justice Holds where it doesn’t side to anyone, nor to status or standing. The
FLAMING TORCH in the top represents passion and dedication, also the flame spells
“INC” inspired from the Centennial logo of the Iglesia ni Cristo. The SWORD represents
power of the law to punish and deliver justice. Finally is the “SILVER SHIELD WITH THE
CANDELABRUM” represents the power of the law to protect and defend the innocent
while the Candelabrum was an inspiration from the INC Flag logo.

Overall, my approach for this design is in perspective of a vision of a aesthetic,

progress and success. Thank you
