CONTRIBUTION TO SCHOOL & COMMUNITY

● Advised as consult to the UNHCR on nationwide and worldwide roundtables concerning refugee
education, safety and vulnerability in urban environments.
● Created and fostered an ongoing partnership between Sunway International School and the UNHCR
regarding refugee education initiatives and support within Malaysia.
● Created the APEX Survivor Challenge, an obstacle course race organized and run by volunteer
students in order to raise funds for UNHCR backed education initiatives in Malaysia.
● Co-developed the Sunway National Poetry Slam, an annual event hosting between 8-10 schools in a
competition of performance poetry in support of arts based career choices.
● Co-developed Science Games Day (.com) to foster an interest in math and science career choices,
while promoting an equal access event that benefits both international schools and underfunded teams
from rural Malaysia and refugee schools alike.
● Volunteered as support teacher at EC Drury High School learning resources and life skills departments.
