8.0 ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT OF AN EXISTING WAREHOUSE FACILITY


LOCATED AT NSAWAM IN THE NSAWAM ADOAGYIRI MUNICIPALITY OF
THE EASTERN REGION.

In pursuance of the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1994, Act 490 (Section 2 (i) and
12 (1)) and the Environmental Assessment Regulations 1999, LI 1652 and on the basis of
the information provided in the Environmental Assessment Form (EA1) this
Environmental Permit is issued authorizing Feiya Engineering And Trading Com.Ltd
to commence The construction of a Warehouse Facility located at Nsawam in the Nsawam
Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern Region.

9.0 CONDITIONS OF PERMIT

9.1 Commitment to Project Specification


Comply with all project specifications, mitigation, monitoring and other Environmental
Management provisions outlined in Form EA1. The project involves the construction of a
warehouse and garage facility.

9.2 Location
The project is located at Nsawam in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern
Region.

 Land take-3.87 acres.

9.3 Compliance with the Following Mitigation Measures


Comply with the following mitigation measures:
 Provide first aid kit
 Provide septic tank or bio digester with adequate capacity for liquid waste
 Provide fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment
 Provide waste bins at vantage points for solid waste disposal
 Provide adequate parking space
 Plant trees around the facilities.
 Construct a high block fence wall around the offices and shops
 Restricting activities to acceptable hours of the day
 Concrete flooring around the building

9.4 Compliance with Fire Precaution (Premises) Regulations 2003, LI 1724


 Provide appropriate fire prevention/fighting equipment on site as recommended by the
Ghana National Fire Service.
 Install fire alarms at the station.
 Obtaining Fire Certificate from Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

9.5 Noise and Sanitation


 Comply with the appropriate EPA permissible noise levels. Ensure that noise levels
do not exceed 55 dB (A) during the day i.e. 06:00hrs-22:0hrs and 48dB (A) at night
between 22:00hrs-6:00hrs.
 Comply with existing Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly’s bye-laws on noise
and sanitation.

9.6 Compliance with Factories, Offices and Shops Act 1970


 Comply with the requirements of the Factories, Offices and Shops Act, 1970 (Act 328).
consult with the Factories Inspectorate Department in order to satisfy the requirements
of the Department and the Act.

9.7 Compliance with EPA Quality Guidelines


Comply with EPA Quality Guidelines/Schedules.

9.8 Compliance with Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly’s Bye-Laws


Comply with appropriate Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly’s bye-laws governing
Operations of warehouses and garages

9.9 Completion Note


Notify EPA of completion of project infrastructural development works.

9.10 Notification of Changes
Notify EPA of any major changes in the planned development of the project contrary to
information provided in form EA1.

9.11 Other Relevant Permits


Notwithstanding this permit, the project is further subject to other relevant regulations
and Permits pertaining to the sector and must be observed.

9.12 Permit Awareness


 A copy of this permit shall be displayed prominently on the premises at all times.
 All staff at the premises shall be familiar with the conditions of this permit.

9.13 Permit Transferability


This permit is not transferable. It covers only FEIYA ENGINEERING AND
TRADING COM.LTD proposed
(Warehouse and Offices) located at Nsawam in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality of
the Eastern Region.

9.14 Permit Renewal


The permit must be renewed after eighteen (18) months by submitting the necessary
application to the Agency.

9.15 Validity Period


This permit is valid for a period of eighteen (18) months from the date of issue and Shall
expire on FEBRUARY 05, 2020.

9.16 Revocation, Suspension and Refusal of Permit


The Agency shall revoke or suspend a permit issued or shall refuse to renew permit
where:
 The provisions and conditions of the permit are not being complied satisfactorily
with.
 The continued operation of the project poses risk to the environments, public health
and safety.
 The operations by the proponent have deteriorated below the required standard.

9.17 Penalty for breach of conditions of the Environmental Permit
Providing false information or failure to comply with any or observe all the permit
conditions above shall:
 Attract administration penalties as shall be prescribed by the Agency.
 Attract the necessary fines as prescribed under Regulation 26 of the Environmental
Assessment regulations 1999, LI 1652.
 Render this Environmental Permit invalid.
 Lead to suspension or revocation of this permit or prosecution.
