2018 National Conference and Engineering Week

CALL FOR PAPERS

Institution of Engineers Rwanda in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure is
organizing the 2018 Engineering Week and National Conference to be held from 19th to 25th
August 2018. The National Conference will be organized with linkages of Eastern African
Federation of Engineering Organizations (EAFEO) and Federation of Africa Engineering
Organizations (FAEO).

The main objective of the National conference is to discuss and to identify implementable
infrastructure projects and those in pipeline and the role of practioners in the engineering sector to
actively participate in the implementation of those projects, thus supporting rapid economic
transformation, enhancing employment creation and inspiring actions towards a positive change. The
Conference will run alongside the engineering week and will be held at the Intare Convention Arena
(ICA) in Kigali.

The event will feature comprehensive technical programs and speakers will be drawn from various
policy making Institutions, academia, built environment, ICT and Industry and it will be a platform
to bridge gaps between policy makers, sectors, disciplines, practitioners and researchers. The
organizing Committee of the National Conference invites you to submit the abstract of your original
paper on the under listed topics. If your abstract is accepted then you will be invited to submit a full

Abstract submission Deadline: 15thJuly 2018

Decision for acceptance/rejection of Abstracts: 20thJuly 2018
Final Paper Submission: 10th August 2018

Continuous Professional Development:

Members of the Institution of Engineers Rwanda will earn 2 CPD Points by attending
the conference. Authors will earn 3 CPD Points and Co-Authors will earn 2 CPD
points.
