f the urge to have a juicy steak strikes, look no further than Yun
Soon Western Food in Kota Kinabalu. This cosy establishment locat-
ed in Lintas Plaza may look like any other coffeeshop at first glance
but since opening its doors some 2 years ago it has gained a reputa-
tion for serving some of the best grilled delights in town. The name Yun
Soon has its roots in Tenom, where it was established some 40–50
years ago and is known for its coffeeshop fare. Today, the name is also
synonymous with Western-style grilled favourites. Many people claim
that Yun Soon serves the best grilled lamb chops in town; they are best
enjoyed with a generous serving of their home-made black pepper
sauce. Diners can also choose from a variety of other sauces including
mint, salsa, mushroom and garlic. Chunky beef steaks, grilled to your
preference, are also a favourite here. Every bite is truly satisfying and
the generous portion makes this a meal value for money. All grilled
dishes are served with baked beans, coleslaw and crinkle-cut French
fries. If you cannot do without a serving of steaming white rice, order
the black pepper lamb or salsa lamb which come with rice. The great
thing about Yun Soon is that most meals also come in kid-sized por-
tions, perfect for small appetites. Check out the Yummy Menu for chil-
dren, a combination of chicken wings, chicken and cheese cocktail
kebab, French fries and a salad. Other must-tries on the menu are the
fish & chips and the simply irresistible grilled chicken chop. Weekends
and public holidays are a busy time and many wait in line to get a
table. We promise you the wait will be worthwhile!
Kedai Kopi Yun Soon (Yun Soon Western Food) is located at 27-0,
Lintas Plaza, Lorong 2, Jalan Lintas, Luyang, Kota Kinabalu. Grilled
dishes are served from 6:00 –11:00 pm daily (closed on Mondays
and Chinese New Year). For more information, please contact
Kenny Shiau at 013 803 8332.

ust Relax in Kota Kinabalu offers a great soothing experience for
the tired and stressed body, right here in the heart of city. The
relaxation centre is particularly known for its body relaxation ther-
apy sessions, using a myriad of techniques including traditional shiatsu
and Chinese-style methods. Each session may last up to 60 minutes,
depending on your preference. Foot reflexology is also a specialty, ideal
for those who have spent a great deal of time on their feet, be it traips-
ing through shopping centres or climbing Mount Kinabalu! Let the pro-
fessional therapists knead your aching soles, leaving you relaxed and
rejuvenated. Many people also swear by the ear-candling sessions. This
unique technique (which is comfortable and completely painless) is
believed to remove toxins from the body and help to alleviate
headaches. If it’s smooth and flawless skin you desire, try the hand and
foot scrubs which get rid of dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling
baby smooth.
For a bit of everything, try out the packages which combine the
above-mentioned sessions to suit your needs. Just Relax is a cosy, clean
and comfortable establishment, with 10 trained therapists to cater to
your needs. Its strategic location makes it easily accessible to those
staying around the city area. Pamper yourself at Just Relax!

Hari Pahlawan
Petagas
21 Januari 2007
P
ahlawan Petagas merujuk kepada orang-orang berani yang
kecundang akibat serangan Tentera Tentera Imperial Jepun pada
Januari 1944.
