1 Preface

1.1 Instrument introduction

Micro plate washer SAR-520B is the matching equipment for Sunostik latest Micro

plate reader. It can be used for plate washing or reagent adding during the

microanalysis of chemistry, medical and biochemistry.

1.2 Features

 Convenient operation, top reliability, neatly washing, few left liquid, universal
micro plate washer.
 Suitable for different users with the extra function: bottom rinse, two-point
aspiration, shaking, volume adjustment, etc.
 Large LCD indicates all in chinese, the user can operate it easily step by step.
 The instrument with high-automatic allow the user proper edit the rinse
program which can be memorized in system automatically for the future
selection
 The lotion is directly taken out from the lotion bottle to the washer and
transfused to the plate; the waste liquid will vent from the washer to the waste
bottle directly through the silicon tube after washing.

4 Installation

4.1 Unpacking

It is a precision instrument which should be handled careful in particular.


 Detail check about the packing & seal condition on receiving to find whether it
is full packed and intact sealed. Unpack it and take out the instrument and all
accessories (see the below indicator chart).
 Read this user’s manual carefully before installation. Do not discard the
packing material which will be used for the future transportation.

4.2 Location and Requirements

The instrument must be situated on a flat worktable in dry and non-corrosive


environment, keep away strong electromagnetic and heat sources ((such as
motors, centrifuges, etc.).
Avoid exposed to direct sunlight or strong artificial light.
Inside temperature 10 30 ( the best is 25 ) Humidity ≤80%.

It is most important to make the equipment enter into the good circuitry which
should be in good ground connection.

If the equipment is working under the situation beyond of the scope
limitation value or without good ground connection, It will influence the
function of equipment, the equipment will be caused by damage.

4.3 Accessories installation

Take out the lotion bottle and waste bottle and install them on the correct
position
Take out one washing needle and hang it at the correct bracket (8 or 12
needles is optional)
Take out the silicon tubes and connect them with the liquid system according
to the color.

Please take down the washing needle from the bracket when connecting with the
tubes

5.2 Application

5.2.1 Switch parts

The position of power switch and socket is in the same line, the fuse is in the
middle of them, they have the power filtering function They are all on the
back of the instrument.

There are 2 kinds washing needles (8 & 12) which can be selected according
to the plate
---Washing needle 8 match with the plate 8 head/rank

The washing needle should be hanged on the bracket and moved by the
bracket

5.2.4 Stage holder

Stage holder is used for holding the micro plate & washing parts, the left there
is a washing trough in which process the washing, the right is the stage
position with the standard size

5.2.5 Lotion bottle & waste bottle

Lotion bottle is used for filling the Lotion and distilled water, use the lotion for
plat washing, and the distilled water for bottle, tube & needle washing
Waste bottle is used for filling the waste lotion which must be discarded before the
bottle is full filled, or the waste lotion will cause the damage of the pump of
the instrument.

6 Operation

6.1 Self-detection

Pressing the button “On”, you will see the display as below:

6.2 adjustment

6.2.1 adjustment

There is a default program saved in the system, you can use the “Adjust” function
to reset it according to the specification of your micro plate reader, the operation is
as below
Select “Adjust” on the main menu by shift key and enter, the below map will be
indicated

left of the plate cup, the range is 0-30 adjust parameter“03” is flashing (“03” is for
example only, different instrument with different parameter).
Press the “confirm” key 3s and release the key when the mark “ “ is displayed,
use“+” &“-” key to adjust the distance, “+” key is for right moving of the needle,“-”
key is for left moving of the needle.
After the left distance adjustment is completed, press “confirm” key to continue
the next position adjustment.

When putting the sample board, if the 300ul is full, please adjust the injecting
time, set injection volume 300ul, when the cursor is on the point of 12 or 250ul,
please press “Enter”, when the cleaning head moves the fist row of the sample
board, please add water to 300ul, if it is not 300ul, Use “+ or -” to adjust the
injection time, repeat until the water is 300ul

6.3 Plate washing

6.3.1 Enter the washing mode

Select “Wash” on the main menu by shift key and enter, the below map will be
indicated

In this menu, The indicated data is the last performing data ,adjusts the following
digit may choose procedure witch containing the cleaning solution, washes the

Put the plate on the stage groove flatly ,the cursor flashes in random numeric
keyboard position then press enter key to confirm, by now, the instrument
according to procedure to carry on the cleaning the enzyme board.

During the washing, the below map will be indicated

6.4 Program edit

There are 100 washing modes (0-99) which data can be edited & revised, the
operation is as below:

There are 100 washing modes,chooses a procedure, takes its number as
washes the board procedure number. Move the shift key to the “Program” No.
position and use “+” or “-“ to select the No.

Press the key shift for moving the cursor to the “Aspirate time” .use “+” or
“-“ to select Aspirate Time.the range of the time from 0.1 to 1 each shift 0.1s

Affusion mode ,there are two kind of mode:Aspirate Affusion and Aspirate
mode. Under the A.A mode interface the needle aspirate the liquid first
time ,then Affuse the water into the plate ,under Aspirate mode interface the
needle just Aspirate first time not Affusion

Press the key shift move the cursor to the Affusion mode.use “+” or “-“ to
change the digit for setting the plate mode, there are ten kinds plate mode
The program edit is completed after the above setting, a new produce data
can be saved in the system automatically. If there are some items not need to
be revised during the setting, it can be jumped over

If there are some thunderbolts, you can press the “Reset” key to
stop the washing

7 Maintenance

7.1 Needle unblock & clean

There is a unblock needle in the part list


When the washing needle is blocked by the crystal and unworkable, firstly use
the unblock needle to clean the crystal, and then process the tube washing
program
When you use the unblock needle to clean the crystal, the instrument must in
work stop condition.
If it is necessary, you can exchange the exit & entrance of the tube during you
clean the crystal by the unblocked needle, and then process the washing
program several seconds, comeback the exit & entrance of the tube after
complete the washing.

7.2 Tube maintenance & replacement

The glue tube should be replaced if the color change or aging phenomena is
found for the lotion tube, waste tube and washing head tube.
During the tube replacement, pay attention to the tube specification and
connect method, the connection must be fastness to prevent air leak.
There is a movable baffle in the left of the instrument which is fixed by the
screw, you can open it and find the tube nip valve. If the pipette is unworkable
after long time using, it may caused by the agglutination of the tube & nip valve,
you should clear the problem according to the below map:

Take out the pipette and lightly knead the distortion part for renewing, and
then re-fixed the pipette with the nip valve, but you should fix it at a new
position which is near the distortion part.

7.3 Fuse replacement

The fuse is on the back of the instrument, it is between the power switch and
socket, rating current is 2A. The instrument must be in unplug condition
when you replace the fuse.

If the replaced fuse is burned up when you power on the


instrument, do not change the fuse with bigger current, you must
stop the instrument operation and contact with our professional engineer to
deal with this problem

7.4 Routine maintenance

Use rinsing or litmusless cloth to clean the instrument, any detergent and
rubbing material is unavailable.
Use wet-cloth and water to clean the parts which are blacked by the detergent
or some mordant substance.
Use plentiful distilled water to rinse the tube when you finish one set washing
program
Use plentiful distilled water to rinse the tube when you complete your work
Replace the glue tube in time if there are some damage is found.
Discard the waste lotion in the waste bottle in time to prevent the instrument
pump damage by the waste lotion vacuum.
Clean the surface of the instrument by the dis-rubbing lotion monthly
Normative operation can extend the lift of the instrument, don’t use any hard
substance (nail or strident material) to key-press the keyboard.
