Our Mission
TO PUT FAITH IN ACTION TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF THOSE IN NEED
For the past 72 years Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe has remained dedicated to finding
solutions to some of the most pressing social challenges individuals, children, and families face, regardless
of race, religion, country of origin, disabilities,
age, or sexual orientation right here in our communities.
With a staff of 85, over 200 volunteers, and your support, we provide more than
12,500 individuals and 5,400 families with a broad spectrum of services throughout
central New Mexico.

Center for Educational Opportunity
Our students work on completing their basic education leading
to attainment of their High School diploma, learning English to
improve their job performance or to participate in their
children’s education, or begin a pathway to citizenship. Our
classes empower those who are marginalized due to limited
education, language, cultural barriers, and immigration status.
Sixteen outstanding teachers and staff are dedicated to our
students’ success. They offer classes, office hours, tutoring, and
online support.
Success Points:
Over 1,000 adult education students from all walks of life and from all around the world attend our classes
Classes are taught six days per week at Catholic Charities campus
Classes are offered in Rio Rancho and many Albuquerque Public Schools sites
We will begin offering classes at Los Lunas High School in the fall of 2018
Twenty-five roofing apprentices have advanced to journeyman status
Success Points:
Our Team Refugee program has matched 26 families with volunteer teams, assisting several families to
permanent supportive housing, and others to improved job prospects – all the while improving the English
of our families and sharing friendship and community.
Our mentoring program matched 53 children with volunteer mentors for academic support and
friendship. This summer we collaborated with the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History for a summer
camp, culminating in a tile mosaic art piece expressing the children’s ideas of home, currently on display in
the museum.
In a global study by Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities (FADICA) and Boston College’s
Center for Social Innovation, our Team Refugee program was noted as one of 64 uniquely Catholic,
innovative, high-impact ministries that are helping refugees and migrants around the world.
Center for Self-Sufficiency and Housing Assistance
Catholic Charities understands that many of the issues
threatening to disrupt and destabilize a family can only be
addressed after the family is housed. We provide support to
families and individuals battling homelessness through the
following programs:
La Luz - Providing families with dependent children in
Albuquerque and Sandoval County with up to 24 months
of housing assistance and case management
Partners in Housing - Housing individuals and families
that have experienced long-term homelessness and have
a disabling condition. The goal is to help them stabilize
their lives and begin to address health issues
Rental Assistance Program - Helps people with their past-
due rent or helps house them and assists them for up to 8
months of case management
Hibernian House provides low-cost senior citizen housing based on need and availability
Success Points:
More than 580 individuals and families in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties have been helped
93% of families and individuals housed graduated the program “stably housed’
87 families avoided eviction from their home
All families are assisted with furniture and household items to establish their new home
In 2017 we served 188 households and 600 household members
Success Points:
Thousands of immigrants have become legal permanent residents, naturalized (U.S.) Citizens and
DACA beneficiaries
99% approval rate on waivers of unlawful presence, allowing applicants to remain with family in the
United States
Center for Community Involvement

works at Catholic Charities and provide outreach to Catholic and non-
Catholic institutions and individuals to promote social justice and the
common good. Through our volunteer program, we recruit, vet and log
over 15,000 volunteer hours a year, supporting every center in our
agency.
