STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The massive movement towards becoming globally competitive and unprecedented explosion
of free trade and exchange worldwide has brought about immense opportunities to develop
newer tools and methodologies in the field of financial management. It is this changing and
challenging milieu to which I intend to contribute by evolving meaningful and optimal solutions
to various problems of finance. Thus, I intend to make up a career in Management, Finance &
Accounting wherein I could advance my analytical approaches to the process of financial
management.

To achieve my goal, I need to learn and explore about the recurrent developments in the
financial sector and acquire hands-on experience of financial analysis and its technological
applications. A Master's Degree will not only provide me with a theoretical understanding of the
arena but will also give me an in depth idea of practical approaches in aiding managerial
decision-making and research skills to enable me to develop an expertise in the core areas of
financial strategies. In the wake of present times, where the world economy is on a fast track, I
have a keen interest in studying about the effects of increase in global communications on
international finance decisions. My interest vests in understanding the working of the Foreign
exchange markets, hedging foreign exchange risk, and corporate financial strategy including
mergers and acquisitions.

To give a substantial form to my passion, I have paid due attention. I am currently pursuing my
bachelors in economic honours from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (Decision of final
semester is awaited). In studying finance I have been particularly inclined towards genres like
accounting, macro economics and banking. Strong quantitative skills, familiarity with computer
applications and experience gained while working on various school projects have helped me
to develop sharp analytical abilities and have given me the confidence to tackle advanced
problems on a macro level. My avid interest in sporting activities like Squash and Basketball
has further added a flare in my overall personality. I look forward to applying these abilities to
the immense opportunities available at your prestigious university.
Building on my educational background and my research interest, I would like to pursue a
Master’s program in Management, Finance & Accounting from your esteemed University. That
