MONDAY—EVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 17-20
Monday, September 3
Deut. 32:5…their spot is not the spot of his children…
Heavenly Father and Holy Lord:
I thank you I know the “sweet spot,” secret spot, the spot which proves I am
a child of God. It would be presumptuous for me to try and decide this based on
my own feeling or opinion, but your word reveals it clearly. I thank you I know
with CERTAINTY where I will spend eternity, because I have your word of
revelation to guide me. This is the same spot I pray for others to find this fall!
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of
God…
I pray for __________ and __________ Lord, let them receive Jesus Christ
into their heart and life, and be made a child of God.
John 1:12 …even to them that believe on his name:
I pray for __________ and __________ to believe on the name of Jesus,
and simply from their heart trust the finished work of Christ crucified, now exalted
to be their redeemer. This will make them a member of the family of the Most
High. Whatever else they may not have or may not know, if they have this they
have the privilege to become a child of God. Lord, make it so! Make it now!
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Here it is in a nutshell. Christ shows up as shepherd, his sheep recognize him,
they trust him, then move to follow him. Lord, may someone in my network of
neighbors, family and friends come to know you in the same mutual knowledge
and constant connection I have with you as your child. This is the “sure spot,” an
indelible mark of being saved and belonging to the family of God. I beseech you
O Lord, let not this year end until they commit their souls to Christ! So give us
souls this fall for eternity, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

TUESDAY—FOCUS ON CHRIST’S LIFE
Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 21-24
Tuesday, September 4
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the
same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Heavenly Lord:
Without you I can do nothing. And if I am a branch, then I am designed bear
fruit. Apart from you I can produce nothing, make nothing, create nothing,
accomplish nothing. Let me bear the fruit of the Spirit expected from someone
with the gifts of the Spirit, and spiritually in union with Christ.
What great fruit ought to come from such a root! Being a branch in you Jesus,
what special species I should produce! Yet I can do nothing if there is not a
constant union. Let me use that thought to help me fulfill Paul’s commands to
† 1 Thess. 5:16-19 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit.
Am I sure to take Christ with me? If I am on my way, do I ever stop and say,
“I am without the Master. I dare not go another step”? Make the abiding
consciousness of your presence through your Spirit (communion with you) the
basic fundamental element of my strength and spiritual power.
For acknowledging the Spirit’s presence brings his power. Power to change
the human will, power to enlighten minds of the lost to the things of God, power
to influence their attitude toward repentance and faith—surely these things come
only from you. Do I really believe that, or do I rely on self?
The power lies with the Master. The might is not in the sword, but in the
Spirit who wields it. We must have Christ in our pews, in our aisles, in our pulpits,
and in my cubicle when I stand up to speak for him. Make me feel him with me,
even to the end of the world! Give me grace to acknowledge you in all things today
so revival will be on my path. I ask it for Jesus’ glory. Amen.
FRIDAY— CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY

Friday, September 7
Dan. 9:9-10 To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have
rebelled against him; Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his
laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
Almighty and Merciful Father:
We have sinned and strayed. Like lost sheep, we have wandered from your
will and followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have
offended your holiness, and left undone those things we should have done, while
we have done those things we ought not to have done. There is no soundness in
us apart from the holiness your Spirit provides. But!
1 Cor. 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom,
and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
So Lord, we count on your mercy, not because of our merits, but because of
the sanctification purchased for us by Jesus Christ with his bloody sweat in the
garden, and his death on the cross. Have mercy Lord, upon us miserable offenders.
Spare those who confess their sins. Restore those who repent. Do this for us today,
according to the promises you declare in your word, and so revive us again toward
your Eternal Purpose.
Grant most merciful Father, for your Son Jesus’ sake, that we may live God-
like lives today. The thing that pleases you most is righteousness, and in all
soberness of prayer we claim the righteousness of Jesus as our breastplate against
the tempter. Give us conquering grace over the Evil One, and through your
bountiful goodness deliver us from the bonds of those sins that in our frailty we
commit. Keep our church pure for your greater usefulness.
Grant this, O heavenly Father, for Jesus Christ’s sake and to the glory of your

Wednesday, September 5
2 Cor. 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but
our sufficiency is of God;
My Lord and My Father:
From the depths of my soul, smitten with an absolute self-loathing and self-
despair, I admit this truth via Paul. Down on my knees and out of my mouth, I
admit it. This is not just the compliment to Jesus that politeness requires. No, this
is a confession of soul that says, Lord I often act like a good-for-nothing do-
nothing, and become a fruitless, barren branch. I am dry and rotten without you,
and I feel this in my inmost soul. Be not far from me! Quicken and revive me
with your presence today.
Heb. 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and
supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and
was heard in that he feared;
If without you I can do nothing, then I am crying to never be without you! I
come with strong crying and tears to entreat your abiding presence, and the sense of
your Spirit in revival. You come to those who seek; therefore I will never stop
seeking you.
Many times, prayer is the appointed means to convey the blessings you
already intend to give. Help me consequently constantly use it for that, and may
the result increase every day! I do not want a life independent of you. I am the
branch and you are my vine, but you will not be with me unless I humbly submit
to you. I will not argue over the supremacy of my life. Here, I give myself away,
and yield my body to you. I am willing to be, to do, and to suffer according to your
will. Give me the splendor of a faith that measures itself by the Christ in whom
it trusts. Do this for Jesus’ sake and glory. Amen.
SATURDAY—IN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 37-40
Saturday, September 8
Psa. 41:3 The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt
make all his bed in his sickness.
Lord I Cry to You:
I claim this Psalm as a promise for those who consider the poor (verse 1). I meet
many “poor in spirit” every day. To consider means I must instruct, give skill, teach,
make to understand, make wise, and guide them wittingly. Let that be my mission
this weekend and next Wednesday, because then this promise is mine!
When I am down, make me do something. In my hour of languishing
(sorrow) you, as the God of the weak and needy, will bless me as I minister truth
to the weak and needy. Let everlasting arms lift my soul from the doldrums. This
is how to deal with depression! If I am bored and not depressed, then let boredom
teach me the real insignificance of this life, and the significance of you.
How near you come to my infirmities of mind, body and emotions. Who ever
hears this about the old gods of the pagans or Greeks? Who ever hears this about
the gods of India, China or Allah? This language is unique to my Heavenly Father.
You become my nurse and attendant when I take ministry to others. Though you
smite with one hand, you still sustain with the other.
It is a blessed fainting if, when falling, I land in your arms Lord, and get
carried from there. Grace is the best medicine! Divine Fatherly love is the safest
energy drink! It makes my soul as strong as a giant (even when my bones are
breaking).
There is no doctor like you, Lord. There is no tonic like your word. There is
no wine like your love. If I have failed in my duty to instruct the poor in spirit, then
today I see what I am losing. Make me their friend and helper, and guide to Christ.
For I ask it in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
“Oh,” says one, “I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer.” And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into God’s presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayer—the posture, the
time, place—rather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
