FIRST SPEAKER OF AFFIRMATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. We are from affirmative team as an affirmative team we are strongly
believe that every children should get complete immunization. But before that, let me introduce
ourselves. My name is Sutarini as a first speaker of affirmative team, as an affirmative team I
will deliver the motion, definition, background, and also the argument from social point of view.
And Elfira as a second speaker of affirmative team, as a second speaker she will deliver the
argument from health and economy point of view and also she will do some rebuttal. And the
last Mega as the third speaker of affirmative team, and she will deliver her rebuttal and also she
will conclude why believe with the motion.

So our motion today is this house believe that every children should get complete
immunization. And we are as an affirmative team we are strongly believe with the motion. And
the definition of the motion is immunization is a procces to inject a vaccine into children’s body
and the vaccine is a biological preparation that improves immunity to a particular disease. A
vaccine typically contains an agent that resembles a disease-causing microorganism, and is often
made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe, its toxins or one of its surface proteins. The
agent stimulates the body's immune system to recognize the agent as foreign, destroy it, and
"remember" it, so that the immune system can more easily recognize and destroy any of these
microorganisms that it later encounters. And now we just talk about immunization in Indonesia.
And then the children must complete their immunization to keep them in health condition and
also prevent the children from dangerous disease such as measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B,
pneumonia, meningitis, influenza, tetanus, diphteria, TBC, etc. There are some type of vaccine
like live, attenuated, inactivated/killed, toxoid (inactivated toxin), subunit/conjugate. And every
child must get the complete immunization like Hepatitis B , this child get this vaccine when they
born, and the best time to give the vaccine is before 12 hours after baby born. This vaccine can
prevent the contagious of Hepatitis B disease from mother to baby during the partus. Polio, this
children get this vaccine four times before they get 6 months. The first when the baby born, the
second when they get 2 months, 4 months and 6 months. This vaccine can prevent the measles.
The children need to get this vaccine just once, and the baby need to get it before they get 3
month. This vaccine can prevent the Tuberculosis bactery which can broke their lung and their
meningen. Campak, the children just get this vaccine twice, first when they get 9 months and 24
months. This vaccine can prevent the pneumonia, diarrhea and also it can damage their brain.
Pentavalen (DPT-HB-HiB) Pentavalen is the collaboration between DPT vaccine, HB vaccine,
and HiB. This vaccine can prevent 6 diseases like difteria, pertusis, tetanus, hepatitis B,
pneumonia, meningitis. This vaccine will given 4 times, when they get 2 month, 3 month, 4
month and 18 month.

If the children not get the complete immunization they will be more easy to get sick, and
they will suffer the measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, pneumonia, meningitis, influenza,
tetanus, diphteria, TBC, etc. which is can be contagius by bacteria, virus and also fungus. This
just because their immune system not get any help from other substances. And the Madame
Chair of the Team Empowerment and Family Welfare (PKK) Center, Vita Gamawan Fauzi. she
said there are 1,7 billion children death due to they didn’t get any vaccine. And Immunization is
a basic right of the child to be protected from harmful diseases. So said Giving immunization
against measles and polio aims to boost immunity in under five years old children from measles
and polio infections. immunization needs to be properly disseminated to the community. To that
end, the PKK team with all its cadres at all levels with duties and functions has the task of
counseling, motivating and mobilizing families to follow the necessary programs. It can be done
by having family record, data of pregnant mother, birth, infant mortality, mother giving birth,
and data of pregnant woman's death. This needs to be our concern because if the Dasa Wisma
group runs well, then the program data can we get accurately. The provision of immunization is
one of the priority programs of the health sector in the prevention of disease in children. It is
important that children grow strong and healthy. said, currently estimated 1.7 million deaths in
children, or about five percent in children under five occur because they have not received
immunization. Madame Chair of the Team Empowerment and Family Welfare (PKK) Center,
Vita Gamawan Fauzi said “About 1.7 million infant deaths have not been immunized, so an
effective way to suppress morbidity and mortality rates is the immunization movement," she
said. The immunization efforts will be more effective if coverage and quality is optimal. And the
PKK have to implement the PKK National Community Working Group, where the team of PKK
mobilizers all agreed to succeed the 10 basic programs of PKK, including health, healthy
planning, and environmental sustainability. The implementation of the campaign of measles and
polio, is the third phase of activities conducted by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the
PKK Central team, with targets to be achieved ranging from children aged 0-59 months to polio,
and 9-59 months for measles . The immunization program is a disease prevention program from
the Ministry of Health that is claimed cost effective to prevent diseases that can be prevented by
immunization (PD3I). Type of PD3I disease is Hepatitis B (jaundice), tuberculosis (coughing),
Diphtheria, Pertussis (whooping cough / cough hundred days), Tetanus (seizures), Polio (Lame
Disease) and Measles (gabag).

That’s all my argument, thank you

SECOND SPEAKER OF AFFIRMATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. I’m Elfira as a second speaker of affirmative team will deliver the
argument from health and economy point of view. Immunizations can save your child’s life.
Because of advances in medical science, your child can be protected against more diseases than
ever before. Some diseases that once injured or killed thousands of children, have been
eliminated completely and others are close to extinction– primarily due to safe and effective
vaccines. Polio is one example of the great impact that vaccines had have in the United States.
Polio was once America’s most-feared disease, causing death and paralysis across the country,
but today, thanks to vaccination, there are no reports of polio in the United States. Immunization
protects future generations. Vaccines have reduced and, in some cases, eliminated many diseases
that killed or severely disabled people just a few generations ago. For example, smallpox
vaccination eradicated that disease worldwide. Your children don’t have to get smallpox shots
any more because the disease no longer exists. By vaccinating children against rubella (German
measles), the risk that pregnant women will pass this virus on to their fetus or newborn has been
dramatically decreased, and birth defects associated with that virus no longer are seen in the
United States. If we continue vaccinating now, and vaccinating completely, parents in the future
may be able to trust that some diseases of today will no longer be around to harm their children
in the future.

Not only do vaccines save lives, they save money too. It is always cheaper to prevent a
disease than to treat it. The routine childhood immunization program in one birth cohort saves
$13.6 billion in direct costs. Every dollar spent on childhood immunizations saves $18.40. In
Colorado, the cost of treating 538 children hospitalized for vaccine-preventable diseases in one
year totaled $29.2 million.

That’s all my argument, thank you.

THIRD SPEAKER OF AFFIRMATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. I am Mega as third speaker of affirmative team and I will deliver my
rebuttal the opinion of second speaker of negative team and I will conclude why believe with the
motion. I disagree if you say that the vaccine is dangerous and the content in the vaccine may
cause the children or baby to have autism because in the vaccine, aluminum (hydroxide) is
required as an adjuvant given in very small doses. Adjuvant serves to help strengthen the
immune response in people who receive vaccination. Along with aluminum, the antigen will be
recognized much faster by the body than the antigen alone because aluminum can keep the
antigen at or near the injection site and activate the presenting cell antigen. Dr. Piprim B.
Yanuarso, SpA(K) as a member of the IDAI said the use of aluminum salts in vaccines is
declared safe and effective, the amount of aluminum content in vaccines is very small, equivalent
to those found in 975 mL of formula. While the content of the thimerosal in the vaccine is also
harmless because timerosal is very affective in killing germs and bacteria. Timerosal in vaccine
is the result of ethyl mercury. This substance will not accumulate in the body because it is
quickly metabolized and can be excereted through the urine. In the 90s, timerosal was often
associated with the incidence of autism. The issue ends with the withdrawal of the timerosal
from the vaccine composition. However, after the timerosal withdrawal, the number of cases of
autism remains high and tends to increase. This indicates the absences of sufficiently robust data
to conclude whether there is or is not a timerosal relationship with autism. So, do you think the
vaccine is still dangerous for the children?

Well, here I will affirm that the affirmative team strongly believes that every children
should get complete immunization for their body’s defenses. As already said by the first and
second speaker of affirmative team that the vaccine is a biological preparation thet improves
immunity to a particular disease. A vaccine typically contains an agent that resembles a disease-
causing microorganism, and is often made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe. The
agent stimulates the body’s immune system to recognize the agent as foreign, destroy it and
“remember” it, so that the immune system can more easily recognize and destroy any of these
microorganisms that it later encounters. In Indonesia, the children must complete their
immunization to keep them in health condition and also prevent the children from dangerous
disease such as measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, pneumonia, meningitis, influenza, tetanus,
diphtheria, TBC, etc. And the immunization also can save your child’s life, because of advances
in medical science, your child can be protected against more diseases than ever before. For the
example smallpox vaccination eradicated that desease worldwide. Your children don’t have to
get smallpox shots anymore because the desease no longer exists. Vaccine can save your money
too. It is always cheaper to prevent a disease that to treat it.

So, complete immunization is very important for the health and defense of the body for
children. If the children not get the complete immunization they will be more easy to get sick,
and they will suffer the measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B etc. Keep in mind that it is better to
prevent than to cure.

That’s all my rebuttal and conclude from me, thank you.

REPLY SPEAKER OF AFFIRMATIVE TEAM

Thank you moderator. Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and
Gentlemen. I am Ari Purnamawati as reply speaker of affirmative team. In this occasion I want
to say every children should get complete Immunization. Because in social view we believe the
children must complete their immunization to keep them in health condition and also prevent the
children from dangerous disease such as measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, pneumonia,
meningitis, influenza, tetanus, diphteria, TBC, etc. There are some type of vaccine like live,
attenuated, inactivated/killed, toxoid (inactivated toxin), subunit/conjugate. The children need to
get this vaccine just once, and the baby need to get it before they get 3 month. If the children not
get the complete immunization they will be more easy to get sick, and they will suffer the
measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, pneumonia, meningitis, influenza, tetanus, diphteria, TBC,
etc. which is can be contagius by bacteria, virus and also fungus. This just because their immune
system not get any help from other substances. In economy view immunization not only do save
lives, they save money too. It is always cheaper to prevent a disease than to treat it. The routine
childhood immunization program in one birth cohort saves $13.6 billion in direct costs. Every
dollar spent on childhood immunizations saves $18.40. In Colorado, the cost of treating 538
children hospitalized for vaccine-preventable diseases in one year totaled $29.2 million.

So, immunization is very important for the health and defense of the body for children. If
the children not get the complete immunization they will be more easy to get sick, and the will
suffer the measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, pneumonia, meningitis, influenza, tetanus,
diphteria, TBC, etc. Keep in mind that it is better to prevent than to cure.

That’s all replay from me, thank you. Time I retrun to Moderator.
FIRST SPEAKER OF NEGATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. We are from negative team as an negative team we are strongly believe
that every children should not get complete immunization. But before that, let me introduce
ourselves. My name is Rai as a first speaker of negative team, as an affirmative team I will
deliver my rebuttal and my argument from health and government point of view. And Aryya as a
second speaker of negative team, as a second speaker she will deliver the argument from health
and religion point of view and also she will do some rebuttal. And the last Andre as the third
speaker of negative team, and she will deliver her rebuttal and also she will conclude why
believe with the motion.

I will give my rebuttal to first speaker of affirmative team. I do not agree with your
opinion because there is still an exclusive ation for the immune system to increase and make
natural antibody, if the vaccine is done when the immune system is not good, instead of the same
will make the child become ill, and make the child becomes traumatized because of puncture of
the needle injections from immunization. In addition, many of us know if the cadres are not all
running maximally to do counseling to the family about the importance of immunization seen
from the reaction of children after immunization, making parents reluctant to give immunization
to their children.

Vaccines can cause serious and sometimes fatal side effects. According to the CDC, all
vaccines carry a risk of a life-threatening allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) in about one per million
children. The rotavirus vaccination can cause intussusception, a type of bowel blockage that may
require hospitalization, in about one per 20,000 babies in the United States. Long-term seizures,
coma, lowered consciousness, and permanent brain damage may be associated with the DTaP
(diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis) and MMR vaccines, though the CDC notes the rarity of the
reaction makes it difficult to determine causation. The CDC reports that pneumonia can be
caused by the chickenpox vaccine, and a "small possibility" exists that the flu vaccine could be
associated with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a disorder in which the person’s immune system
attacks parts of the peripheral nervous system, in about one or two per million people vaccinated.
The National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) says that vaccines may be linked to learning
disabilities, asthma, autism, diabetes, chronic inflammation, and other disabilities.

Vaccines are unnatural, and natural immunity is more effective than vaccination. Even
pro-vaccine organizations state that natural vaccination causes better immunity. The Children’s
Hospital of Philadelphia notes that "It is true that natural infection almost always causes better
immunity than vaccines. Whereas immunity from disease often follows a single natural
infection, immunity from vaccines occurs only after several doses." Mayo Clinic states that
natural infection "often provides more complete immunity than a series of vaccinations." Kurt
Perkins, DC, a chiropractor and wellness expert, stated, "A vaccine violates all laws of natural
immune defenses by taking a potential pathogen along with all the TOXIC ingredients
(aluminum, formaldehyde, adjuvants, etc.) directly into your blood system. This process would
never occur in building natural immunity. That last sentence is kind of an oxy-moron. Immunity
is a natural thing. Vaccines are an artificial thing."

The government should not intervene in personal medical choices. Medical decisions for
children should be left to the parents or caregivers. Barbara Low Fisher, Co-founder of National
Vaccine Information Center, stated, "If the State can tag, track down and force citizens against
their will to be injected with biological products of known and unknown toxicity today, there
will be no limit on which individual freedoms the State can take away in the name of the greater
good tomorrow." Ron Paul, MD, former US Representative (R-TX), in an Oct. 19, 2011 article,
"Government Vaccines – Bad Policy, Bad Medicine," stated, "intimately personal medical
decisions should not be made by government… Freedom over one’s physical person is the most
basic freedom of all, and people in a free society should be sovereign over their own bodies.
When we give government the power to make medical decisions for us, we in essence accept that
the state owns our bodies."

That’s all my argument. Thank you.

SECOND SPEAKER OF NEGATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. I’m Aryya as a second speaker of affirmative team will deliver the
argument from health of view. I will give some rebuttal, I am not agree with your opinion
because in Indonesia has been the death of infants due to immunization for example On May 31,
2005, Angga a 4.5-year-old boy from Tasikmalaya died 2 hours after polio immunization and
followed Riri Agustiani baby 9 months who also died after immunization on June 5, 2005. While
in Depok West Java, a toddler named Nabila also died a week after the injection. And there are
still other cases that occur in Indonesia as well as in other countries.

Vaccines contain harmful ingredients. Some physicians believe thimerosal, an organic

mercury compound found in trace amounts in one flu vaccine for children and other vaccines for
adults, is linked to autism. Aluminum is used in some vaccines and excess aluminum in human
bodies can cause neurological harm. Formaldehyde, also found in some vaccines, is a
carcinogen, and, according to VaxTruth.org, exposure can cause side effects such as cardiac
impairment, central nervous system depression, "changes in higher cognitive functions," coma,
convulsions, and death. Glutaraldehyde, a compound used to disinfect medical and dental
equipment, is used in some DTaP vaccinations and exposure can cause asthma and other
respiratory issues. Some flu vaccines contain cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMB), a
compound used as an antiseptic, which can be a skin, eye, and respiratory irritant. Some polio,
TD, and DTaP vaccines contain 2-phenoxyethanol, an antibacterial that is a skin and eye irritant
that can cause headache, shock, convulsions, kidney damage, cardiac and kidney failure, and
death. Some vaccines for the flu contain chicken egg protein, which can be harmful to children
who are allergic to eggs. Some vaccines for PCV, HPV, DTaP, Hep A, Hep B, and Hib contain
yeast proteins which, according to VaxTruth and Joseph Mercola, MD, an alternative medicine
proponent, contain MSG that can cause migraines, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), asthma,
diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Lou Gehrig’s disease, ADD, seizure, and stroke.

Mandatory vaccines infringe upon constitutionally protected religious freedoms. Several

religions oppose vaccines and mandatory vaccinations. The First Amendment of the US
Constitution states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof." In the ruling for Cantwell v. Connecticut (1939; 9-0), the
US Supreme Court held that state and local governments’ infringement upon religious freedom
is also unconstitutional. Some Christian Scientists consider vaccinations against their religion
because founder Mary Baker Eddy stated that the "calm, Christian state of mind is a better
preventative of contagion than a drug, or than any other possible sanative method… the ‘perfect
Love’ that ‘casteth out fear’ is a sure defense." Amish communities do not view all
vaccinations as "necessary" and some believe that vaccinations weaken the immune system.
The Church of Illumination states that "the teachings of the Church unequivocally affirm that
injections of vaccines and inoculations are a violation of these biblical teachings…
Immunizations and vaccinations are a form of blood pollution because they have devastating
effects on the regeneration of the soul that each Church member seeks to attain." The Universal
Family Church believes that parents should decide whether their children should be vaccinated
and that "God intends the health decisions of individuals should… be honored by all
authorities."

That’s all about my arguments. Thank you.

THIRD SPEAKER OF NEGATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. I am Rai as third speaker of affirmative team and I will deliver my rebuttal
the opinion of second speaker of negative team and I will conclude why believe with the
motion. I do not agree with your opinion, it does not make sense if you inject the disease into a
child's body and with certain processes will improve health. The body has its own way of
defense depending on the vitality of the moment. If under conditions, the body will be able to
fight all infections, and if the condition is decreasing, the body will not be able to fight the
infection. And you can not change your fitness by putting any toxins into your body.

Diseases that vaccines target have essentially disappeared. There is no reason to

vaccinate against diseases that no longer occur in the United States. The CDC reported no cases
or deaths from diphtheria between 2003 and 2011 in the United States. Fewer than 51 cases and
10 deaths per year from tetanus were reported between 1994 and 2011. Polio has been declared
eradicated in the United States since 1979. There have been fewer than 21 deaths yearly from
rubella since 1971 and fewer than 25 deaths yearly from mumps since 1968.

Most diseases that vaccines target are relatively harmless in many cases, thus making
vaccines unnecessary. The chickenpox is often just a rash with blisters and can be treated with
acetaminophen, cool compresses, and calamine lotion. The measles is normally a rash
accompanied by a fever and runny nose and can be treated with rest and fluids. Rubella is often
just a virus with a rash and low fever and can be treated with acetaminophen. Rotavirus can
normally be treated with hydration and probiotics. As you said before, immunization is urgently
needed, but just as the 1st and 2nd speakers said, inappropriate immunization only endangers the
child undergoing the immunization itself.

That’s all about my argument. Thank you.

REPLY SPEAKER OF NEGATIVE TEAM

Thank you moderator, Good Morning Mr, Chairman and Madam Chair. Ladies and
Gentlemen, I am Padmayunita as replay speaker of negative team. In this occasion I want to say
that every child should be fully immunized, because in social terms we believe that children must
complete their immunizations to stay in good health. But here why it is mentioned that there is
still an exclusive ation for the immune system to increase and make natural antibody. If the
vaccine is done when the immune system is not good, making children sick and traumatized by a
needle puncture from immunization. in Indonesia there has been infant mortality due to
immunization for example on 31 May 2005, Angga a 4.5 year old boy from Tasikmalaya died 2
hours after polio immunization and still many other cases that occurred in Indonesia and on the
other side. Vaccines contain harmful ingredients. Some physicians believe thimerosal, an organic
mercury compound found in trace amounts in one flu vaccine for children and other vaccines for
adults, is linked to autism.

FIRST SPEAKER OF AFFIRMATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. We are from affirmative team as an affirmative team we are strongly
believe that abortion should be legalized. But before that, let me introduce ourselves. My name is
Rai as a first speaker of affirmative team, as an affirmative team I will deliver the motion,
definition, background, and also the argument from social point of view. And Aryya as a second
speaker of affirmative team, as a second speaker she will deliver the argument from health point
of view and also she will do some rebuttal. And the last Andre as the third speaker of affirmative
team, and she will deliver her rebuttal and also she will conclude why believe with the motion.

So our motion today is this house would abortion should be legalized. And the
definition of the motion is Abortion is an action to terminate a pregnancy by expending a
conception before the fetus can live outside the womb. It is a medical abortion or in medical
science. There are various reasons why real abortion should be legalized in our country and that
reason is just as much and-actually-as powerful as the reasons it has been to make it a criminal
offense. All these reasons are just as important, both to the mother and her child. With the
prohibition of abortion, false clinics, inexperienced shamans and pretenders who say they can
have an abortion and are safe, whereas all they do is malpractice that is very dangerous for
women. All non-sterile tools, drugs used-are not legal drugs. Some dukuns use a more terrible
method by putting some kind of potion into the woman's uterus through her vagina.

Doctors and licensed hospitals will refuse an abortion request unless the baby is dead or
for other urgent medical reasons. If, abortion whatever the reason is legalized, and provided with
adequate facilities such as tools, legal medicines and competent doctors, such cases may be
considerably reduced. The death of women due to illegal abortion or permanent damage to the
genitals can also be reduced to a minimum. Places of illegal abortion and malpractice do not
need to be visited by women who choose to have an abortion, because there is a special, legal,
and safe clinic. So, do not include abortion as an option for not wanting to kill, but he does not
want the child at all, instead he is 'killing' his son who was born into the world inwardly. Inner
killing, as bad as physical killing. However, at least if he had an abortion (which was considered
a physical killing) he would not give a useless and miserable life to a man who did not even ask
to be born from him. The community's negative stigma about pregnancy outside marriage and
abortion is caused by the disagreement of the moral values held, the narrow way of thinking and
the lack of knowledge. Legal abortion does not mean giving fertilizer and water to free sex
behavior, especially among teenagers. Legal abortion has nothing to do with free sex
(irresponsible sex). WRONG sex education is the cause of many irresponsible sex behavior
among teenagers. Sex education at home and school as far as I can see is almost all wrong. This
will be discussed with different topics. Prevention of free sex begins with proper sex education,
but if something that does not fit the plan occurs, legalized abortion may be an option.

That’s all my argument, thank you

SECOND SPEAKER OF AFFIRMATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. I am Aryya as second speaker for the affirmative team and I will
continuing my team's case this morning abortion should be legalized. Today I will be talking to
you about health points. In a country that legalizes abortion, the country reasoned because it
already has health workers and health technology that has been better. So the risk of getting
complications is smaller, as well as they can take advantage of advances in medical technology.
In addition, this abortion will be done because it has been through conditions, as this action
should be done to save the life of a critical mother. Still, health workers still need to minimize
the intervention to take abortion, while the causes of abortion can be prevented and overcome. If
any abortion is justified, and provided with adequate facilities such as tools, legal medicines and
competent doctors, the death of women due to illegal abortion or permanent damage to the
genitals may also be minimized. Places of illegal abortion and malpractice do not need to be
visited by women who choose to have an abortion, because there is a special, legal, and safe
clinic.

That’s all my argument, thank you

THIRD SPEAKER OF AFFIRMATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. I am Andre as third speaker for the affirmative team. As my colleague
said, abortion is not always considered a crime because in one side abortion has a positive side.
from a social point of view, if an abortion is legalized it will make criminals who want to
commit crimes such as false clinics, inexperienced shamans and people who say they can do an
abortion and are safe, when all they do is malpractice which is very dangerous for women. All
non-sterile tools, drugs used-are not legal drugs. Some dukuns use a more terrible method by
putting some kind of potion into the woman's uterus through her vagina and in terms of health
there is also a positive impact that is having health workers and health technology that is
better. So the risk of getting complications is smaller, as well as they can take advantage of
advances in medical technology.
In addition, this abortion will be done because it has been through conditions, as this
action should be done to save the life of a critical mother. Still, health workers still need to
minimize the intervention to take abortion, while the causes of abortion can be prevented and
overcome. well here I also want to emphasize that we strongly agree if abortion is legalized
That’s all my argument, thank you
REPLY SPEAKER OF AFFIRMATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. Iam Julianita Dewi as reply speech of affirmative team. In this occasion I
want to say unequivocally that abortion should be legalized. Because Doctors and licensed
hospitals will refuse an abortion request unless the baby is dead or for other urgent medical
reasons. If, abortion whatever the reason is legalized, and provided with adequate facilities such
as tools, legal medicines and competent doctors, such cases may be considerably reduced. The
death of women due to illegal abortion or permanent damage to the genitals can also be reduced

FIRST SPEAKER OF NEGATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. We are from negative team as an negative team we are strongly believe
that every children shoul get complete immunization. But before that, let me introduce ourselves.
My name is Sutarini as a first speaker of negative team, as an affirmative team I will deliver my
rebuttal and my argument from social point of view. And Elfira as a second speaker of negative
team, as a second speaker she will deliver the argument from health, religion and social point of
view and also she will do some rebuttal. And the last Mega as the third speaker of negative team,
and she will deliver her rebuttal and also she will conclude why believe with the motion.

Abortion is a very common thing happening in our world. Many people are for abortion,
but they do not realize how bad it is. They do not know about it to the full extent. Abortion needs
to be illegal, except for cases such as rape or if the mother will die. Abortion is more dangerous
than actual child birth. Having an abortion also leads to many physical and emotional affects that
no one would want. Women are having abortions for very selfish reasons and there are way too
many abortions a year. I feel so strongly towards abortion because many women have an
abortion when their child is going to be special needs or have deformities. I want to study in
Special Ed in college and become a Special Needs teacher. So their lives are very important to
me, and I do not want to lose anymore of these kind hearted, amazing people. It is not right.

Did you know that abortion is actually more dangerous for the mother than just giving
birth to the child? Mothers are in much higher risk with abortions. According to Women’s care
center of La Grange, large studies in Denmark have shown that there is a shockingly high risk of
death among women who have first trimester abortions. Louisiana's department of health states
that first trimester abortions have high death risk because of complications such as pelvic
infection, incomplete abortion, blood clots in the uterus, etc. Most women don’t realize how
dangerous it could actually be for them to go through with abortion. Also a Danish study of
nearly half a million women have found that women who have a first trimester have a 89%
higher risk of death within the first year after they have the abortion, compared to other women
who have not had an abortion. So why do we still have so many abortions? Women need to
realize the harm it has on their life. With a ten year period doctors still found an 80% higher risk
of death for these women who have had an abortion. It also states that women who had an early
or late abortion have significantly higher mortality rates within 1-10 years after their abortions.
10 years is a very long time for anyone having to worry about their life and health. Is that really
worth it?

Higher death rates with abortion than normal childbirth isn’t the only thing women
should worry about. Abortion leaves women with plenty of physical and emotional side effects
that no one would want to go through. According to americanpregnancy.org some of the physical
side effects are vomiting, diarrhea, damage to the cervix, heavy bleeding, infection or sepsis, it
goes as far as to death also. They have stated the emotional side effects: with regret, insomnia or
nightmares, suicidal thoughts, relationship issues, eating disorders, and anxiety. These side
effects are terrifying and question a woman’s life. These effects are needed to keep in deep
consideration. Women do not realize the effect on them after their abortion, they need to keep
these effects in their mind. We have a way to take these awful effects away so let’s do it.

The number of abortions being done a year is such a high and scary number. Most
abortions are done for unneeded reasons. These women and men aren’t owning up to their
consequences. They are taking the easy selfish way out. According to CNN news, the last
recorded year of abortions was in 2012 and it was 699,202 abortions, these are just the ones
recorded. There could be more. Whether there are more or not 699,202 is still a screaming
amount of deaths of these little babies. Pcuc.org states that women give three main reasons for
abortion. Three-fourths are because the baby would interfere with work, school, and other duties,
three-fourths say they can’t afford a child. Then half say they don’t want to be a single parent.
Only 12% have one for physical or health problems, and only 1% are because of rape. These
statistics show that the main reasons for abortions are because the parents aren’t owning up to
their mistakes. Population would fight me on this and say that tho.

That’s all my argument. Thank you. Time I return back to moderator.

SECOND SPEAKER OF NEGATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. I’m Elfira as a second speaker of affirmative team will deliver the
argument from health, religion and social point of view.
I will give some rebuttal. Second speaker of negative team said has been available
some clinics that provide facilities for abortion into a great opportunity for teenagers who are
having an abortion. This condition makes more and more teenagers to have abortion and the
chance of death of mother and child is getting bigger. Abortions also cause psychological
damage. A 2008 peer-reviewed study published in the Scandinavian Journal of Public Health
found that "Young adult women who undergo... abortion may be at increased risk for subsequent
depression." A peer-reviewed 2005 study published in BMC Medicine found that women who
underwent an abortion had "significantly higher" anxiety scores on the Hospital Anxiety and
Depression Scale up to five years after the pregnancy termination. A 2002 peer-reviewed study
published by the Southern Medical Journal of more than 173,000 American women found that
women who aborted were 154% more likely to commit suicide than women who carried to term.
A 1996 study published in the British Medical Journal reported that the mean annual suicide rate
amongst women who had an abortion was 34.7 per 100,000, compared with a mean rate of 11.3
per 100,000 in the general population of women. An Apr. 1998 Journal of Social and Clinical
Psychology study of men whose partners had abortions found that 51.6% of the men reported
regret, 45.2% felt sadness, and 25.8% experienced depression.

In social point of view, abortion is murder. The killing of an innocent human being is
wrong, even if that human being has yet to be born. Unborn babies are considered human beings
by the US government. The federal Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which was enacted "to
protect unborn children from assault and murder," states that under federal law, anybody
intentionally killing or attempting to kill an unborn child should "be punished... for intentionally
killing or attempting to kill a human being." The act also states that an unborn child is a
"member of the species homo sapiens." At least 38 states have passed similar fetal homicide
laws. Instead of having the option to abort, women should give their unwanted babies to people
who cannot conceive. The percentage of infants given up for adoption in the United States
declined from 9% of those born before 1973 to 1% of those born between 1996 and 2002. As a
result of the lack of women putting their children up for adoption, the number of US infant
adoptions dropped from about 90,000 in 1971 to 18,000 in 2007. Around 2.6 million American
women were trying to adopt children as of 2002, according to the US Department of Health and
Human Services.

In religion point of view, abortion is the killing of a human being, which defies the word
of God. The Bible does not draw a distinction between fetuses and babies: the Greek word
brephos is used in the Bible to refer to both an unborn child and an infant. By the time a baby is
conceived, he or she is recognized by God, as demonstrated in Jeremiah 1:5: "Before I formed
thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee..."
The Sixth Commandment of the Bible's Old Testament, "Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20:13),
applies to all human beings, including unborn babies. In the Hindu religion, the holy text
Kaushitaki Upanishad states that abortion is an equivalent misdeed to killing one’s own parents.
The BBC states that "Traditional Buddhism rejects abortion because it involves the deliberate
destroying of a life."

That’s all my argument. Thank you.

THIRD SPEAKER OF NEGATIVE TEAM

Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, Ladies and Gentleman, and all the
member of the house. I am Mega as third speaker of negative team and I will deliver my rebuttal
the opinion of second speaker of affirmative team and I will conclude why the negative team
disagree with the motion. Second speaker of affirmative team said that if a legalized abortion
could reduce the occurrence of complications in women who have an abortion and I disagree
about it. Because if abortion is legalized then many women will have an abortion. Especially in
Indonesia many teenagers who have been doing free sex and when have a pregnancy out of
wedlock then they will have an abortion. If abortion is legal it means supporting teens to have
free sex and they will be very easy to have an abortion.

Well, here I will affirm that the negative team disagree with the motion about this house
would abortion should be legalized. As already said by the first and second speaker of negative
team that abortion is more dangerous than actual child birth. Having an abortion also leads to
many physical and emotional affects that no one would want. Louisiana’s department of health
states that first trimester abortions have high death risk because of complications such as pelvic
infection, incomplete abortion, blood clots in the uterus, etc. Higher death rates with abortion
than normal childbirth isn’t the only thing women should worry about. Abortion leaves women
with plenty of physical and emotional side effects that no one would want to go through. Some
of the physical side effects are vomiting, diarrhea, damage to the cervix, heavy bleeding,
infection or sepsis, it goes as far as to death also. They have stated the emotional side effects :
with regret, insomnia or nightmares, suicidal thoughts, relationship issues, eating disorders and
anxiety. And in social point of view, abortion is murder. The killing of an innocent human being
is wrong, even if that human being has yet to be born. Unborn babies are considered human
beings by the US government. The federal unborn victims of violence act, which was enacted “to
protect unborn children from assault and murder,” states that under federal law, anybody
intentionally killing or attemping to kill an unborn child should be punished for intentionally
killing or attemping to kill a human being”.

Abortion is very dangerous. So, if the abortion is legalized then many women especially
teenagers who will have an abortion very easily without them will think about the impact that
will result from the abortion itself such as vomiting, damage to the cervix, infection or sepsis,
even lead to death as well.

That’s all my rebuttal and conclude from me, thank you.

REPLY SPEAKER OF NEGATIVE TEAM

Thank you moderator. Good Morning Mr. Chairman and Madam Chair, lady and
gentlemen. I am Dwi Apriani as reply speaker of Negative team. In this occasion I want to say
unequivocally that abortion should not be legalized. Because in health this condition makes more
and more teenagers to have abortion and the chance of death of mother and child is getting
bigger.Abortions also cause psychological damage. In social point of view, abortion is murder.
The killing of an innocent human being is wrong, even if that human being has yet to be born.
Many people are for abortion, but they do not realize how bad it is. They do not know about it to
the full extent. Abortion needs to be illegal, except for cases such as rape or if the mother will
die. Abortion is more dangerous than actual child birth. Having an abortion also leads to many
physical and emotional affects that no one would want. Abortion leaves women with plenty of
physical and emotional side effects that no one would want to go through. The physical side
effects are vomiting, diarrhea, damage to the cervix, heavy bleeding, infection or sepsis, it goes
as far as to death also. They have stated the emotional side effects: with regret, insomnia or
nightmares, suicidal thoughts, relationship issues, eating disorders, and anxiety. In religion point
of view, abortion is the killing of a human being, which defies the word of God.

But, affirmative team believe that, if, abortion whatever the reason is legalized, and
provided with adequate facilities such as tools, legal medicines and competent doctors, such
cases may be considerably reduced. The death of women due to illegal abortion or permanent
damage to the genitals can also be reduced to a minimum, it should not, many permanent damage
will be experienced in women who have abortion. Many believe that do not include abortion as
an option for not wanting to kill, but he does not want the child at all, instead he is 'killing' his
son who was born into the world inwardly. They also believe the community's negative stigma
about pregnancy outside marriage and abortion is caused by the disagreement of the moral values
held, the narrow way of thinking and the lack of knowledge. So, our argument had better than
affirmative team’s argument.

That’s all my replay. I return the time to moderator.
