Proposal for TED Club

Dear Ma’am,
This is to request your patronage and help in starting an official TED club in the
school. I believe that such an endeavour can be extremely beneficial for the
school and students alike.
A TED club will provide a platform through which students will be able to
express themselves on any idea of their choice. Apart from enhancing their
speaking skills, it will also help avert stage fright and boost confidence.
Fundamentally, it is a 13-session training program which will support students in
developing presentation literacy skills.
Throughout the club cycle, participants will be choosing an idea of their own, on
which they will be preparing a presentation to be submitted to TED at the end
of the cycle. During club meetings, participants will be practicing their
presentation in front of an elected jury, which will provide the participant
feedback. Participants will also be participating in calls with other TED club
participants around the world to discuss their ideas. If selected by TED, a club
member may also be invited to New York, USA to present on the official TED
stage.
This may also be integrated into the school curriculum as part of GS(General
Studies) of be kept as a separate activity.
Requirements to Apply for TED Club:
 Club Leader: To be elected among students.
 Club Advisor (Adult):Ma’am

We believe that with your permission and backing, we can make this endeavour
a big success and also host a TED event in our school if this gains the required
traction.
