Paper title Presentation of a software tool for the analysis of technical parameters of subtitles and its
application to DVD series
Abstract Studies on Audiovisual Translation have undergone an unquestionable development during the

accessibility.
The objective of our paper is to introduce a new software tool that has been developed within
the framework of a Doctoral Thesis, and which will be used for the technical analysis of subtitle

they have undergone all the intermediate production stages in the translation process.
Thanks to this system, we have been able to carry out a diachronic analysis of more than a dozen
television series. The preliminary data we have so far reveal that there has been a clear evolution
along the past five years with regard to two main parameters: reading speed and length of
pauses between consecutive subtitles.
