Phish stands as an acronym for, “philanthropic ideas, strategy, and heart.” Comprised
of eight powerful, youth individuals from Indiana, Alabama, Minnesota, and Iowa, Phish
works as a liaison for the 13 Dekko Foundation youth pods located nationally. By
organizing free-admission youth pod retreats every two years, Phish connects youth
philanthropists and encourages individual pods to share their community involvement,
current struggles, and leadership process to augment youth development.

quality of life of Whitley County. This eighteen-member pod improves Whitley County
with the aids of volunteerism, grant-making, and spread of philanthropic education.
One of HANDS many success is “Charitable Champions.” Through Charitable Champions, 8th
grade students learn philanthropic skills through short videos and small workbooks.
Before the end of the 18 week course, 8th graders research various nonprofit
organizations and their needs subsequently writing a grant request up to $5,000 to the
HANDS Foundation to aid a nonprofit of their choice.
