K.S. Krishnamurthy’s constructive criticism on

Muhurta
This issue is very special for 3 reasons. Firstly, this is the birth month of Prof. K. S. Krishnamurthy and it
was our please to provide many rare photographs from Krishnamurti Commemoration Number published
in 1972. These days one finds hardly any discussion on the inventor of KP method, his ideologies, his
thoughts, his world view about astrology and the original, untainted version of KP. A quick and cursory
look into the discussion forums will show that almost all discussions are about personal ‘belief’ about KP,
but no discussion on the original thinking and contribution of Prof. K. S. Krishnamurthy.

So, in this issue of JASA, we have taken up one of the most abused approach of KP astrology---
Muhurta. Vedic approaches to Muhurta, and by that I mean the original Sanskrit classics on Muhurta, not
the modern work, have very strong and well ordained systems of finding the auspicious time. And it is
equally difficult and complex too to find an appropriate good time for a particular type of work for a
particular person.

Unfortunately, in KP method, all of us have forgotten what Prof. K. S. Krishnamurthy said about
Muhurta. Worse, we may not even know what were KSK’s thoughts and solutions about Muhurta in KP.
These days it has become fashionable for many discussants, self-styled reviewers and knowledge-less
authors to churn out anything in the name of KP, be it Muhurta or a mundane prediction.

We are happy that on page 53 we have provided excerpts of KSK’s writing on how to use and
integrate Muhurta in KP astrology. It will be surprising to many KP buffs (who have no knowledge about
Vedic methods), that till today they are believing that Earth is the center of Universe!

Our second reason for happiness is that since the research work of the Brotherhood of Light and the
Church of Light (thanks to the yeoman efforts of late C.C. Zain) since early 1940’s, effects of trans-
Saturnine planets on human life is quite well established. Pluto—whether astronomers like to categorize it
as planet or not—does have effect on human affairs. But still we find discussion on internet forums—led
by self-proclaimed astro-gurus and reference-givers, with the help of their spurious research—painstaking
effort to deluge the masses that Pluto have no effect on human affairs.

In this regard, Sri Subhash Ektare’s research effort is very commendable, especially because not
only he did the research on correct methodological lines showing that Pluto does have an effect on non-
marriage cases to a large extent, he also exposed the spuriousness of so called “research” that others try to
pass on to the public, and more so, if they are the reviewers of their own magazines and at the same time
publish their own research. Not only Pluto has effect, Neptune too shows its effect every moment. Way
back in 1979 in A&A, article on Neptune’s effect and usage through KP was published. We have given an
excerpt from this article to dispel wrong notions in the minds of readers, which, unfortunately, gets injected
by self-styled KP reference givers on the internet.

JASA Vol 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011

Out last reason for rejoicing is for the fact that we have crossed the 5000 reader mark just within
4 months of the launch of this journal! Frankly, this was unimaginable. Trying to understand the reson
behind this, we asked some of our readers and the common theme seem to be the following:

 High degree of scholarship in the articles published

 Articles are practical and make relevance in application
 No dogmatic mindset shown to the authors
 Focus on original KP method and empirical research
 Research papers and original ideas and not mere transliteration of KP method
 Encouraging free thinking and allowing criticisms in the publication
 No reviewers to pass judgments and dogmas

A look at the above reasons cited by readers, it is quite evident that these were the order of the day
in the field of KP astrology. We at JASA are very delighted to provide to the KP and stellar astrology
reading and practicing public something that they have longed for.

In this issue, Prof. K. S. Krishnamurthy’s article on Birth time rectification has been provided for
the benefit of all readers across the world. There is massive debate on different methods of BTR. I am sure
this article will be an eye opener, not only for BTR but also to understand the ‘person’ KSK—his immense
broad-mindedness and erudite scholarship.

Dr. NVRA Raja has revealed many secrets in his article. If readers carefully reads—and also reads
between the lines—then surely they can understand the immense benefit hat his article carries for daily life.
Dr. Raja’s father’s system has also been used by Mrs. R. Vijayalakshmi in her article about diagnosing
diseases. Both these articles are on Meena 2 stellar method and will help the reader to understand that
solution to horoscopic problems can be approached in many successful ways.

Sri Vijay Kumar’s article is an eye opener for all. His article is important for two reasons. Firstly,
he has shown that if methods are correct, results will converge. In his article he has shown how KP and his
invented technique LSP (having JASA Idea Index) can be suitably used to answer many complex life
problems. Secondly, his article is important because he is utilizing the basic tenets of KP—sublordship—to
develop and augment an accurate system of prediction. Readers will find his article very practical and
applicable.

Apart from these, scholars like K. S. V Ramani ji from India, Vediko from Italy and Dr. Rao
Nemani from the USA have contributed articles which are very unique in their own way. Ramani ji’s
article is a very clear exposition on Baskara Cuspal interlinks method. Many learners and practitioners,
who do not understand how to approach and utilize CIL methods, must read Ramani ji’s serialized articles
since the inaugural issue of this journal. Similarly, Vediko has shown through his crystal clear analysis how
to approach the most critical component of astrology—passing judgment on longevity. Last but not the
least, Dr. Nemani’s third part on Kashyap Hora Nadi is a ready reckoner for any practicing astrologer.

This issue is, therefore, unique in many ways. And I hope that you will enjoy every bit of it.

Good Luck!

CUSPAL SUB LORD LINK THEORY - BASIC PRINCIPLES

In the Cuspal Sub-Lord Theory, an innovation of late Guruji Sri K.S. Krishnamurthy, he fine tuned the
mathematical part of calculation of all the 12 Bhavas by using the western method of Placidus system,
which gave him success in accuracy in prediction deviating the same from the traditional astrology system.
Further his finding of 249 sub lords for predicting accurately the events crowned him further to pin point
the events. In his method, Planet of the Bhava point in question and its star lord are treated as the source
and matter respectively and the sub-lord as decider, whether the Bhava matter is fruitful or not. In
Baskara astrology he retained the same method of calculation. But in the matter of finding the results, he
has further gone deep into the sub lord of the cusp. He has taken the Cuspal Sub lord with its links as a
planet of source for the Bhava and has taken its star lord with its links as matter or Sambhav. Finally, the
Sub lord of the Cuspal sub lord with its links as the decider. The links mean here that a Planet may be a
Cuspal Sub lord for that Bhava indicating/signifying that Bhava. But at the same time, the same planet
may be cuspal sub lord for other Bhavas, indicating the affairs of those Bhavas. Sri K.Baskaran’s research
thought hovered towards that direction that if a Planet as Cuspal sub lord gives the result of that Bhava,
why not the same planet as cuspal sub lord of the other 11 Bhavas can be clubbed together to get the
copmbined results of all such Bhavas, so that the results of all the Bhavas can be brought for the concerned
planet, when considering the prediction. To explain this, please see the following example.

Sagitarius Lagna native. His lagna point falls under Placidus system at 249 deg.51’44”.sign lord is Jupiter,
star lord Kethu and sub lord is Saturn. Upto this, it is the Lagna Bhava even as per K.P.System also. Now
as per Baskara Astrology , the point 249 deg,51’44: is treated as entry point of Lagna Bhava. (Similarly all
other points of other 12 Bhavas are taken as entry point for all those Bhavas). . In the above case, the sub
lord is Saturn for Lagna Bhava. Same Saturn is Cuspal Sub lord of 10th Bhava also, as may be seen from
the table below.Pl. note such same planets holding different CSLs of Bhavas.
11
JASA Vol 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011

In Baskara Astrology, this Saturn of Lagna Bhava CSL links with 10th Bhava as CSL too. So when we
analyse the Planet Satn. for prediction, we are to take Saturn as signifying both 1 and 10 by the link that it
has. Similarly its star lord with its links and sub lord with its links as CSLs of other Bhavas are to be dealt
in the same way Take Jupiter.. Jupiter is Cuspal sub lord of 4th Bhava and also CSL of 6th and 7th Bhavas.
Hence Jupiter links with 4th, 6th and 7th Bhavas. While considering the results of Jupiter, we are to take that
Jupiter links all the three 4th, 6th and 7th Bhavas by virtue of it being the CSLs of all these Bhavas, as the
Cuspal Sub lord influences all the relevant Bhavas.
This is called Cuspal Sub lord Interlink theory of Baskara Astrology. Following table and explanation
below that will give clear idea to readers about the Cuspal Sub Lord Interlinks.

.Full chart of the example chart is given below: Sagitarius Lagna native.

How to find out the fate of the Bhavas? (1) Lagna Bhava Fate : Let us take in a format as below:

(1) CSL Saturn (1)(10) -- Star lord Kethu (1)(9)* -- Sub lord Jupiter (4)(6)(7)

/----------------------------------------------------------/ /------------------------------/
Source Matter/Sambhav Decider

Note : (1) Bracketted figures are the links of other Bhavas each planet has. (2) Kethu does not have any
CSL of its own in any Bhava. In the absence of it, its star lord position is to be taken. Here star lord
position is taken. (even if there is no star lord position, then the position of the planet is to be taken. Kethu
is in 9th. This is how the linkages are taken. First two are Source & Sambhav
respectively. Lagna bhava is about self effort (all about self). For this, 1st stage is to see whether the
planet is beneficial or not through its star lord. 2nd stage is weather the star lord is beneficial or not
through its sub lord, who is the decider. Baskara rule is 1,2,3,5,9.11 position from its own Bhava are
12
JASA Vol 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011
beneficial. 8 and 12 position is bad and will prevent the function of the planet. 4 and 10 are unfavourable.
6 and 7 are neutral. It will be beneficial if many are favourable and it will be bad if many are unfavourable.
It depends upon the nature of query or the matter under consideration.

Ist Bhava : (a) Now 1st. we are to see whether the CSL Planet Saturn is favourable through its star lord
Kethu. To Saturn’s link of 10th Bhava, star lord Kethu’s 9th Bhava is 12th to 10th. So it will prevent the
function of 10th of Saturn during its Kethu Dasa or sub periods, because Kethu does not hold CSL of any
Bhava.

(b) Next let us see whether CSL Saturn is favourable through its sub lord who is the decider. Sub lord
Jupter’s 4th link is unfavourable to 1 of Saturn, Jupiter’s 6th & 7th are neutral. To star lord of 9th, Jupiter’s
(S/L) of 4 and 6 are unfavourable and 7th is 11th to 9th and 3rd to 7th Pra-Vriddhi, which is very favourable
giving the result doubly benefit than expected. So 7th here changes from neutral to good for the CSL of 1.
So effective interlink is 1,7,9, being odd No. the result will be relating to Lagna dependent Bhavas i.e. self
effort, relationship with friends, partner etc. and religious matters inclined. This is how the fate of the
Lagna Bhava is decided.

IInd Bhva: CSL is Moon, whi is CSL for 5th Bhavam also. In format :

CSL Planet Moon (2)(5) -- Star lord Venus (8)(11) -- Rahu (12)
/-------------------------/ /--------------------------/ /-------------/
Source Matter or Sambhav Decider

Moon is CSL here. In Baskara Astrology, the treatment of Moon is another new findings by
Mr.K.Baskaran. Moon when it is cuspal sub lord, Moon does not give steady or permanent results.
This is because, all the planets rotates around the Sun when Moon only rotates around the earth. All the
planets are, therefore fixed in the same place at birth of a chart till his end of life. So other than Moon, all
the other 8 planets are permanent planets giving results according to the place, where they are placed at
birth. Moon is fast moving planet and also as it is assigned the job of denoting Dasa, Bhuddhi and anthara
etc., it changes the star as and when the Dasa or Bhuddhi changes. So in the above case of 2nd Bhava,
Moon is Cuspal sub lord. It will not give the steady or permanent results as other planets. Please see in the
above example chart, Moon is in the star of Venus and sub of Rahu. What does it indicate? It shows at
the time of Birth the native’s birth took place in Venus Dasa, Rahu Bhukthi. As the age grows for the
native, with the movement of Moon, suppose the current Dasa is Juoiter and Mercury Bhuddhi, then we are
to take the position as Jupiter star as Moon’s star and Mercury as her Bhuddhi lord and we are to see their
links and find out the favourability or otherwise. This is the novel approach of Sri K.Baskaran in his
research to deal with Moon unlike in other system.

IIIrd Bhava CSL is Mercury and he is also CSL of 9th Bhava. In format :

CSL Mercury (3)(9) -- star lord Venus (8)(11) -- Sub lord Kethu (1)(9)*
/------------------------/ /-------------------------/ /---------------------------/
Source Matter Decider

Note: Kethu is not sub lord of any cusp. He is star lord of 1 & 9th Bhavas and also posited in 9th. The Rule
is (1) when a Planet has CSL of its own of other Bhavas, all the Bhavas so linked should be taken. (2) If
there is no CSL of its own of other Bhavas, then its star lord position should be taken.

(3) If there is no star lord position also is there for that planet, then its actual placement of Bhava should be
taken.
In this case, to the CSL Planet and to its star lord Planet, the sub lord who is the decider is not 8 or 12
counted from the links of them. Hence the the matter indicated by those linkage will not get disrupted or
block the function. Hence the effective interlinks are 1,3, 9,11 all odd Bhavas related to Lagna dependent
13
JASA Vol 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011
affairs. All are good such as 1,3,9,11. for the affairs of Lagna dependent. In this Kethu period will help
Mercury period.

IVth Bhava. CSL is Jupiter. He is also CSL of 6th and 7th Bhavas. In format :

CSL Jupiter (4)(6)(7) -- star lord Rahu (12) -- Sub lord Saturn (1)(10)
/------------------------/ /----------------------/ /--------------------------/
Source Matter Decider.

To the CSL Planet and its star lord Planet Rahu, the sub lord linkages are not 8 or 12th position from its
Bhavas. Hence there is no blockage of function. 4th, 6th and 7th will function alright without block.
Effective interlinks are 1,7 if we consider marriage or other affairs pertaining to Lagna dependent; and
4,6,10,12 when we consider material dependent Bhavas. e,g, if native desires to build house (4th), he will
have opportunity to invest amount (12). If he desires job, it will be good by the linkages of 6 and 10, good
income it being material benefit Bhavas.

Vth Bhava:CSL Moon (2)(5)* -- Star lord Venus (8)(11) -- Rahu (12)

Same remarks as of 2nd Bhava above.

VIth Bhava. CSL is Jupiter)

) Same as 4th Bhava above
VIIth Bhava -do- -do- )
VIIIth Bhava CSL (8)(11) -- Star lord Sun (1)* -- Rahu (12).
/-------------------/ /----------------------/ /-----------/
Source Matter or Sambhav Decider
Note: Star lord Sun has no CSL of its own or star lord. Hence his residential position of 1st Bhava is taken.
For this 1, the Sub lord is 12th (12th position). Hence 1 will be blocked and will not function. So effective
interlink is 11th as odd Bhava (11th will proliferate 12 (Vriddhi). Native will get general Success in respect
of Lagna dependent and 12th even Bhava in respect of material matters. i.e. general Loss.

IXth Bhava CSL: is Mercury. He is also CSL of 3rd Bhava: Same remarks as for 3rd Bhava above.

Xth Bhava CSL is Saturn. He is CSL of Lagna Bhava also. Same remarks as of Lagna Bhava.

XIth Bhava:Venus. Venus is CSL for 8th also. Please see remarks against 8th Bhava.

XIIth Bhava CSL Rahu. In format :

CSL Rahu (12) -- Star lord Jupiter (4)(6)(7) -- Sub lord Jupiter (4) (6)(7).
/-------------------/ /------------------------------/ /------------------------/
Source Matter or Sambhav Decider

As per Rule, if the same planet appears twice, one will be treated as decider. Here for Rahu’s 12th link, the
decider’s 7th is 8th to 12th. So 12th function will be blocked by 7th Bhava. Actually 12th Bhava here is
devoid of 12th Bhava strength. 4th is 5 from 12th. It is good. 4th Bhava is good for 12th
Bhava though it is devoid of strength.

A broad idea of Cuspal Sub lord Interlinks and how to decide the fate of each Bhava have been given by
me as above. In this, the Planet (CSL) will give thro’ its star lord one result and the same planet thro’ its
sub lord will give either favourable or unfavorable results. Such results can be classified into four
categories.

14
JASA Vol 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011
(1) Rule 1: In our examination of a Bhava’s fate, the Cuspal Sub Lord thro’ its star lord indicates
favourable results and the same CSL thro’ its Sub lord indicates unfavourable results. The net
result will be as follows:

The Bhava result will be very fruitful in the beginning for some time. It cannot be enjoyed continuously
i.e. . Permanently. An example for this :

CSL of 2nd Bhava Saturn (2) -- Star lord Mercury (6) -- Sub lord Jupiter (9)

Here the star lord’s link of 6th is 5th counted from 2nd of CSL. - Result favourble. i.e the financial position
of the native will get increased. At the same time. Sub lord’s link of 9th Bhava is 8th from the CSL’s 2nd
Bhava. It is very unfavourable to 2nd Bhava. This indicates that whatever the native earned, he will spend
them all lavishly. At the same time, the star lord of Saturn, Mercury links with 6th. This is 4th to the sub
lord link of 9th counted from Mercury’s 6th. This 4th being unfavourable to the Sub lord’s 9th, it will stop
the continuous of the favourable situation enjoyed by the CSL through its star lord.

(2) Rule 2. The Cuspal Sub lord thro’ its star lord gets unfavourable results and the same CSL thro’ its
Sub-lord indicates favourable results. The net result will be as follows :

The native may not be able to enjoy the results of the Bhava for some time, thereafter it will be very
favourable and he could enjoy continuously at a later stage. Example:

CSL of 2nd Bhava Saturn (2) -- Jupiter (9) -- Mercury (6)

Star lord’s link 9th is 8th to 2nd when counted from 2. It is bad & unfavourble. The native will be unable to
manage his finance properly and will spend lavishly. At the same time, the Sub-lord’s link of 6th is 5th when
counted from 2nd, it indicates good cash flows for the native, increased money. At the same time, for the
star lord’s 9th link is 10th to Sub lord Mercury’s link of 6th. So the sub-lord will resist the 9th bhava function
and stop it. This is in some way helps the 2nd Bhava to function effectively. Especially, if the star lord’s
link gets 8th or 12th when counted from the questionable bhava, the star lord’s function will get blocked at
once. Next is 4th Bhava and next to 4th is 10th Bhava will make the Planet in question to lose its strength.

(3) Rule 3: The Cuspal Sub-Lord Planet of a Bhava under examination, if its star lord and sub-lord are
favourable to it, the native will enjoy all comforts without any hitch. Of that Bhava. Example:

CSL of 2nd Bhava is Saturn (2) -- Star lord Mercury (6) -- S/L Jupiter (4)

Here to 2nd Bhava, the star lord’s link of 6th comes as 5h when counted from 2. This is favourable. i.e. the
native’s financial position will grow day by day. Instead of spending lavishly, he will be in the mood of
getting growth of money. Further 2nd Bhava is 3rd to 4th, when counted from 2nd and it is 11th to 4th when
counted from 4th. Generally this 3/11th position is more beneficial than the trine. This 4th Bhava indicating
the properties, the native will change his cash in hand to the properties. It may be noted that Mercury the
star lord’s 6th Bhava link too is 11th to the S/L’s link of 4th and from S/L’s 4th it is 3rd to the star lord. 3rd is
always proliferating Bhava i.e doubling the benefit than expected called Pravriddhi, while 2nd I called
vriddhi ordinary increase. This means here both star lord and sub-lord strengthens the 2nd Bhava resulting
in growth of money day by day.
Rule 4: The Cuspal sub-lord of a Planet of the Bhava under examination, if its star lord and sub-lord both
are in undesirable Bhavas, the native will not get advancement in his financial matters and he will always
be having problems in finance. Example:

CSL of 2nd Bhava is Saturn (2) -- Star lord Mercury (9) --- Sub lord Jupiter (1)

15
JASA Vol 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011
Here to 2 , Star lord’s 9 is 8 , very bad; again to the 2 , sub lord’s link of 1 Bhava is bad, it being 12th
nd th th nd st

1st Bhva when counted from 2nd. Thus in both cases, it is quite bad position. Readers may imagine his
financial position. Apart from the above, there are different effects of the Cuspal sub-lord interlinks such as
Inner effects, outer effects, which will be dealt with in my next article.

The chart is being analysed as follows:

The co-ordinates for judgment

In a natal chart, the harmonious life with spouse is promised if Lagna and 7th house gets linked with the 5th,
7th and 11th house. The marital discord starts when lagna, 7th house and 11th house associate with the 4th, 6th,
10th and 12th house.

Analysis by conventional KP norms

1. Look whether there is a promise for marital discord in the chart.

Note the association of lagna sub-lord Mercury. Lagna sub-lord is Mercury, which falls in the star of 7th
lord Jupiter placed in 3rd house. Venus (sub-lord of Mercury) is gets placed in 12th house. This indicates
possibility of marital discord. Sub-lord Venus as 5th lord placed in 12th house crashes the emotional
content in marriage and the native may get hurt due to bruised emotions (5th house).
2. Look to the 7th house

7th cuspal sub-lord is Mercury again. As per earlier analysis, Mercury gives result of 12th house due to
its sub-lord Venus placed in 12th house, indicating fair chances of discord.
Since, both lagna and 7th cusps are lorded by Mercury as sub-lord; both the lagna and the 7th house point
towards the marital discord. The signification of 12th house causes both the native and spouse to
participate in mutual discord. Since, Mercury signifies 7th lord Jupiter at the stellar level, the marriage
may continue amidst discord.
Analysis by Life Sensitive Points (LSP) principles

Refer my article in Inaugural and second issue of JASA (Jul-Aug 2011 and Sep-Oct 2011) for the
concept and usage of LSPs.
1. Calculate Vivaha LSP to check the quality of marital life.

- 18 -
JASA Vol. 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011
Due to night birth of the native, the Vivaha LSP is calculated by the formula (Saturn -Venus + Lagna).
There is no need of adding additional 30deg, as the Lagna falls between Venus to Saturn. By the
manipulation of the longitudes, the Vivaha LSP falls in Virgo 23-02-44 (d-m-s) lorded by Sign lord
Mercury, Star lord Moon, Sub lord Sun and Sub-sub lord Saturn.
Note as follows.
a. Vivaha LSP falls in the 4th house, thus the issue of happiness and contentment (4th house) gets
paramount importance in marital life.

b. Sub-lord of Vivaha LSP is Sun.

Sun falls in the lagna, thus the native could be a good egoist due to the nature of Sun itself and
the native could set guidelines for her self-esteem due to Sun placed in lagna. Since, Sun is not
strongly placed, these indications may not be that dominant.
Sun falls in the star of 8-9th lord Saturn, that brings the subject matter of marriage break-off (8H)
and issues raised by the spouse (9th house). Since, Saturn is strong lord of 9th house only, the
subject matter of marriage break-off may remain in background and main issues of concerns
could be raised by the spouse (9th house).
Sun is placed in the sub-lord of Jupiter (lord of 7th and 10th house) placed in 3rd house, thus the
issues of marital life get zeroed down to marriage (7th house) and profession (10th house).
Further note that the core person to influence her marital life could be her father-in-law (3rd
house: 9th from 7th house).
Thus, the broad direction set by the Vivaha LSP seems to be due to serious intervention by
father-in-law in the marital life of the native. The native could maintain her self-esteem by her
own way of life.
2. Let us now calculate Santap LSP that shows how the miseries come in life.

Due to night birth of the native, the Santap LSP is calculated by the formula (Moon -Saturn + 6th cusp).
There is no need of adding additional 30deg, as the 6th cusp falls between Saturn to Moon. By the
manipulation of the longitudes, the Santap LSP falls in Gemini 20-03-53 (d-m-s) lorded by Sign lord
Mercury, Star lord Jupiter, Sub lord Jupiter and Sub-sub lord Jupiter.
Note as follows.
a. Santap LSP falls in 12th house meaning that the miseries in life could be due to the clouds of
marital discord.
b. Jupiter is the sub-lord of Santap LSP placed in 3H, hinting that father-in-law could be the giver
of miseries. At the stellar level, Jupiter falls in the star of Venus placed in 12th house which
brings about the subject matter of marital disharmony.
Note that Jupiter is placed in the sub of Rahu placed in 2nd house of kutumba. This certainly
points the fact that father-in-law could instigate such matters that could bring about and the
rejection of spouse in the entire family (2nd house).
3. Let us now calculate Shatru LSP that shows the presence of enemies in life.

Due to night birth of the native, the Shatru LSP is calculated by the formula (Saturn - Mars + Lagna). There
is no need of adding additional 30deg, as the lagna falls between Mars to Saturn. By the manipulation of the
longitudes, the Shatru LSP falls in Gemini 06-42-15 (d-m-s) lorded by Sign lord Mercury, Star lord Rahu,
Sub lord Rahu and Sub-sub lord Rahu.
Note as follows
a. Shatru LSP falls in 12H that shows hidden enemies who work behind eyes.

- 19 -
JASA Vol. 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011
b. Rahu is a strong planet, as there is no planet in its star, thus the placement of Rahu in 2nd house
is very significant, meaning that the whole set of family members could be inimical to the native
and the native could be isolated by rejection.

c. We had noticed in para 1b and 2b that father-in-law could be the cause of problem and miseries
subsequently by way of Jupiter placed in 3rd house. Note that Jupiter falls in the sub of Rahu
which confirms the role of father-in-law instigating for her marital disharmony.

Dasha sequence
Native was married in 2006 in Venus-Saturn-Saturn period. Note that dasha lord Venus and antar-dasha
lord Saturn fall in the sub of Rahu and as said, the native could face the torment of marital discord from
father-in-law from the inception of marriage.
The present antardasha period was that of Mercury in dasha of Venus. Since, Mercury was found to be
placed in the sub and sub-sub of Venus, placed in 12th house, it was inferred that the marital discomfort was
ongoing at present.
Conclusion
In view of the above analysis, I was of the opinion that the native was continuing the marital life in
disharmony and the main culprit is the father-in-law who could instigate discord by acting secretly in the
family.
Facts of the case

The native contacted me later to give me the following facts of the case, which are as follows.

1. The discord with the spouse was ongoing in the form of heated arguments all the time and ended with
the talk of divorce.
Arguments from spouse may be seen from 9th house. Venus is the sub-lord of 9th cusp which is placed
in the star of Mars in 4th house (arguments in family) and in the sub of Venus placed in 12th house
(discord). This confirms the said facts.

2. The role of father-in-law was confirmed who initiated partiality favoring other daughter-in-laws from
her day of marriage, thus depressing the native and developing hatred for him. It was confirmed that the
native did not have any talking terms with him.
Note that lagna sub-lord Mercury was placed in the sub of Venus (sub-lord of 9th cusp of father-in-law).
Since, both Mercury and Venus fall in the sub of Venus placed in 12th house, the discord was the result
of all actions from the side of native and father-in-law.

3. The spouse was equally vocal towards and wanted divorce but somehow the marriage was going.
Refer the analysis at #2 (under analysis by conventional KP norms) that explains the situation.

KP analysis beats medical diagnosis for longevity: A real life case of my friend’s

In my personal database, i have some real personal life cases that i feel very happy that some of the
predictions came true in the right direction. This case is very important for me, my friends mother was in
hospital since 2 months and the doctors were not able to make a right diagnosis of the problem. They
decided that maybe she had a tumor in her head with only 1 or 2 months of life? So i ask my friend if i
could try to predict her lifespan with the help of astrology as one of my major interest and research is to
find a perfect rule for longevity. So i ask my friend to give me a number for an horary chart analysis and
the number was 21 , i then cast the chart and these are the details.

Horary chart rotated to 4th cusp (Mother)

Name: ANTONIETTA
Date & Time : 2009-03-09 17:28:29
Place Name : Ostialido; Regione Lazio; Italy
Latitude : 041:44:00 N
Longitude : 012:17:00 E
Time Zone : 01:00:00 East of UT
Question : MOTHER LONGEVITY
Event : Health: Danger to Life
kph number : 21 (of 249)

Analysis details

Sometimes, the ruling planets help’s the astrologer to select the right dasha ,Bhukti and antara, but also
sometimes ruling planets don’t help especially for the antara period. In this case I was lucky and the R.P.
helped me for selecting the right Dasha period.

Rules for longevity

Short life: Asc sub-lord should signify houses Maraka,Bhadaka and 6,8,12.
Medium life: Asc sub-lord should signify houses 1,5,9,10,11 and 6,8,12 with no bhadaka planet.
Long life: Asc sub-lord should signify houses 1,(3,8),5,9,10,11 with no bhadaka planet.

Note: In horary chart , if there is a maraka or bhadaka planet especially in the star-lord of sub-lord
the longevity is not more than 2 or 3 years. If there is only signification of maraka or bhadaka planet
in the sign-lord and not in star or sub the chance to survive is big.

Ascendent is Cancer and sub-lord is Mercury for the rotate chart and bhadaka is 11th cusp. Asc sub-lord
Mercury in 11 and owns 3,12. Star lord is Rahu in 10 house conj with Jupiter in 10 and owns 6 & 9. In sub
of Rahu in 10 house conj with Jupiter in 10 and owns 6 & 9 houses. So the sub-lord Me signification are: in
sign 11(bhadaka),3 & 12. In star & sub signify 10,6&9. The presence of the bhadaka planet was only in the
- 22 -
JASA Vol. 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011
sign and not in the star or sub so I was not sure about her longevity determination as i was emotionally sad
about the situation. I thought maybe looking in the dasha period it would be more clear?

Casting time Ruling Planet details

Starlord signlord sublord
Lagna : Ve Su Ma
Moon Ke Su Ra
Day lord Mo

Dasha lord running of Ketu from 09/03/09 to 13/09/12

Ketu in 4, sign lord is Moon in 5 and owns 1. In star of Saturn in 5 owns 7(maraka) and 8. In sub of Rahu in
10, conj Jupiter in 10 owns 6(disease) & 9.
The situation seemed clear, her longevity is very short ? Ketu is also in Ruling Planets.

I proceeded with the analysis to find the bhukti lord period.

Bhukti lord runnig was of Rahu
Rahu in 10, conj Jupiter in 10 owns 6 (disease) and 9. Star lord Moon in 5 owns 1. In own sub.
This bhukti was not harmless for her longevity and in R.P.

Next bhukti of Jupiter in 10 owns 6, 9. In star of Moon in 5 owns 1. In sub of Venus in 12, owns
4,11(bhadaka). Could be harmless by the presence of 11(bdk) in sub but not in R.P.

Next bhukti lord was of Saturn in 5, owns 7 (mrk),8. Star-lord Venus in 12 owns 4 (end of life) & 11)
badhaka). In sub of Mercury in 11(bdk) and owns 3,12 (exit). This period by the presence of harmless
signification of maraka, bhadaka, 8(danger), 4(end of life) and 12(exit from this world), but Saturn was not
in R.P.

Next and last bhukti period of Mercury in 11 and owns 3,12. Star lord is Rahu in 10 house conj with Jupiter
in 10 and owns 6,& 9. In sub of Rahu in 10 house conj with Jupiter in 10 and owns 6 & 9 houses. Mercury
not in Rulling Planets. This gave me confidence because none of these bhukti lord was in the ruling planets
so Ketu dasha was not the end. So ascendent signification by the presence of Bhadaka planet only in sign
was not so harmful for her lifespan but to be very sure I looked at the next dasha lord.

Next dasha lord of Venus from 03/09/12 to 13/09/32

Venus in 12(exit) owns 4(end of life) & 11 (bdk). Starlord Mercury in 11(bdk) owns 3 & 12(exit). In sub of
Venus in 12(exit) owns 4(end of life) and 11 (bdk). This period was so clear that it was the end and also
Venus was in the ruling planets.

Conclusions

When i met my friend in the hospital i told him that his mother longevity was not that short and would
survive the 1 or 2 months of life given from the diagnosis of the doctors. After a weak the doctors change
there diagnosis and told my friend she had diabetes and her life was not in danger. We are now in
September 2011 and she is still alive, so, many times the ruling planets helps the astrologer to make a
correct prediction and in this special case I was very lucky and happy to be right.

Email: sunilalaka@yahoo.com Website: www.astrologyask.com

A highly qualified lady was in search of a new job as her previous job was terminated and that’s why asked
me “When will I get a new job” and she furnished the birth details to me. They are as follows:

DOB: 8TH Dec. 1979

TOB : 13.55 P.M.
POB : Kolkata 22N34 ;88E22

The query was solved on 10th Nov. 2008 with help of Four Step Theory with the following notations.

** No Planets in star of Moon-Mars-Saturn

** Venus in own star.

Rule : To get the new job, 10th sublord should be strong significator of 2 or 6 or 10 house and
supportive bhava are 1 and 11. The native will get the job during chain of DBA.

The bracketed houses are strong significators as per 4 step theory. As the lady was doing the job previously
hence I have not seen the Significations of 10th sub and started searching for DBA.

At the time of judgment she was under Venus Dasa Moon Bhukti from 10th Dec. 2007 to 10th Aug. 2009.
Now let us check the signification of dasalord Venus.

PLANET : VENUS
Itself :-------------- Venus:- (9) (2) 7
It's N.Swami :-------- Venus:- (9) (2) 7
It's Sub :------------ Rahu:- 5 Rashi-Swami Sun 8 6
It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Ketu:- (11) Rashi-Swami Saturn (6) 11 (12)

Dasalord Venus is signifying 2-6-11 houses which are favorable to get the job and 9-12 signification
indicates that there are changes in job during this Dasa. Now let us check the signification of Bhukti lord
Moon.
PLANET : MOON
Itself :-------------- Moon:- (4) 5
It's N.Swami :-------- Mercury:- (7) (3) 4
It's Sub :------------ Mercury:- 7 3 4

- 26 -
JASA Vol. 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011
It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Jupiter:- (5) 9 (10) aspect Venus (9)(2)7

Bhukti lord Moon signify 10-2 house on 4th step indicating that the lady will get the job during this Bhukti.

Please note that Moon is not at all signifying 2-6-10-11 houses upto sublevel.

Dasalord Venus signify 2-6-11 and Bhukti lord Moon signify 10-2 thus completed the chain. Now let us
check the Antara. At the time of judgment Saturn Antara was from 25th Aug.2008 to 29th Nov. 2008. Let
check the signification of Saturn.

PLANET : SATURN
Itself :-------------- Saturn:- (6) 11 (12)
It's N.Swami :-------- Sun:- (8) 6
It's Sub :------------ Jupiter:- 5 9 10
It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Venus:- (9) (2) 7

Antara lord Saturn signify 2-6 house and Venus aspected by Jupiter added 10th house signification, also
Saturn is the karaka planet for service. Hence the lady should get the job before 29th Nov.2008 and
informed to her about my prediction and asked her to give me feedback.

The lady has informed me that she has got the job on 24th Nov.2008.
All credit goes to 4 step theory.

JASA and its readers CONGRATULATES Sri Sunil Gondhalekar ji

for his correct prediction and expresses gratitude for openly
sharing it with the astrological world

In continuation to my earlier article on this Jeeva and Sareera concepts, kindly go through the rules
given in my earlier article(JASA Ed.2) to identify Jeeva and Sareera planets for each bhava and for planets.
However I had given here detailed explanation how I had arrived Jeeva and Sareera planets for each house
and planets. Please go through the page number 168 of Stellar Effects in Astrology Jeeva and Sareera to
understand how to identify the Digbala of planets using stellar method, this is one the main keys to identify
the strength of the planets. This concept is very well useful to know how the Dasa, bukthi and anthara are
going to work for the native. In this article I had taken one of the principles quoted in the said book and
given my analysis for the benefit of readers.

RULE:

If Jeeva or Sareera planets of Bhadhagathipathi, Marakathipathi, Sashtadhipathi, Ashtamadipathi,

Vriyadipathi and Ayush karaka Saturn are connected with Dasa, Bukthi and Anthara lords, then the
native suffers in his life near to death. Recovery from accidents etc., happen if the Jeeva or Sareera

The native when went for a routine check up it was found out that she was suffering with Cancer
and underwent an emergency operation for Cancer on 4-7-2010. She was running Venus Dasa, Moon
Bukthi, Rahu anthara (14.06.2010 to 13. 09 2010) 6th house indicates disease. 6th lord Saturn’s Jeeva and
Sareera planets are Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter 7th lord Bhathaka and Maraka lord of Virgo Lagna and
Jupiter’s Jeeva and Sareera planets are Jupiter and Saturn respectively.. 8th house indicates suddenness of
events, 8th lord Mars and karaka for operation is Mars , Jeeva and Sareera planets for Mars are Venus and
Rahu respectively. Cancer indicating planets are Saturn and Rahu, they are powerful malignant planets
responsible for dreaded disease like cancer.

Dasa lord Venus herself transiting in Cancer Sign over natal Jupiter, the Jeeva planet for the 6th
house and also Marakathipathi and Bhadhakathipathi Jupiter’s Jeeva planet Jupiter himself. This shows
the main dasa lord Venus had connection with 6th, Marakathipathi and Bhadhakathipathi. Bukthi lord Moon
is transiting in Pisces (Jupiter’s House) in the star of Saturn, who is the Sareera planet for the 6th house and
transiting in Jupiter’s house the Jeeva planet for 6th house, Marakathipathi and Bhadhakathipathi houses.
This further emphasizes the bukthi lord had connection with 6th, Marakathipathi and Bhadhakathipathi’s
Jeeva and Sareera planets.. Anthara lord Rahu himself Sareera planet for 8th house and transiting in the
star of Venus ,the Jeeva planet for the 8th house , this indicates the sudden development of disease. Note
that the Anthara lord Rahu transiting in the house of Jupiter who is Jeeva for the 6th house. Mars the karaka
for operation, Anthara lord Rahu’s transiting position is linked with Mars’ Jeeva planet Venus and Sareera
planet Rahu. Over and above Rahu anthara lord transiting in Venus star in Sagittarius and Rahu himself
Sareera planet for Mars. As you know hospitalization indicated by 12th house, dasa lord Venus herself the
Sareera planet for the 12th house and anthara lord Rahu himself Jeeva planet for the 12th house. As per Kala
Purusha tatwa Cancer sign indicates Breast. We can note from here that the main dasa lord Venus is
transiting in Cancer sign over the Jupiter of natal chart, bukthi lord Moon is posited in cancer sign in natal
chart, and the anthara lord Rahu is transiting in Venus star, where Venus is transiting in Cancer sign. Dasa
lord over the Jupiter the Jeeva planet of 6th, Marakathipathi and Bhadhakathipathi, the Jupiter the
karaka for expansion and the disease cancer had grown very fast. Saturn the lord of death
connection, Badhakastanas and Marakasthans’ connections linked to the Dasa ,bukthi and anthara
caused Cancer disease.

The lady survived, as you know if Jeeva and Sareera planets of 5th (negative to 6th)and 11th (negative
to 12th) connected with Dasa, bukthi and anthara then the cure is assured. In this case Jupiter and
Saturn are the Jeeva and Sareera planets for 5th and 11th house. You can note that the same dasa,
bukthi and anthara which had caused the disease had connection with Jupiter and Saturn in transit
given the cure also.

The science of astrology consists of five parts Sidhantha, Samitha, Hora, Prasna and Omens. The science
about questions and omens remained integral part of the main astrology. Natal chart is very important for
interpretation and announcement of expected results. However horary astrology is decidedly more
important than natal astrology. Horary astrology is successfully being used for rectification of natal chart. It
also helps in interlinking the planets of horary chart to natal chart. If birth chart is studied properly, it will
give us detailed events of life and its direction. Horary chart can also be prepared to get answers to even
such specific questions as those pertaining to what we did just a few hours back.

Earlier horary astrology had limited sphere for the purpose of calculations. It was limited to the ascendant
of the question followed by results. At one time, horary astrology was dependent on the ascendant and the
planetary position at the time when the query was raised. It is an admitted fact of science that the world is
subject to continuous process of evolution. Hence if we want to know correctly about future, we should
know the direction of evolution. Unless we know that we will not be able to predict future to any degree of
accuracy. As time passed by, several issues came under consideration and gradually these new methods
found place in the subject.

Horary horoscope is prepared on the basis of the time when the question is asked. The time when the
question is asked is very important to give or decode the horary chart to give prediction connected with
various matters such as work, success in a venture, recovery of stolen items, marriage, remarriage children,
health, foreign travel, job opportunities, life and death questions etc.

Prasna Sastra (astrology) is helpful in so many ways to an astrologer. Different methods are being followed
in Prasna Sastra. It is very important that whenever a querist approaches an astrologer for the first time, the
time and date be noted. Place will be the location of the astrologer even in cases of telephonic queries. Time
of query is helpful in timing of events and rectification of the birth charts. As mentioned earlier there are so
many horary methods to fix Lagna and many literatures are also available to guide to cast and workout the
Lagna. As things are changing everyday and newer and penetrative questions are being raised, younger

generation has started believing in astrology and started learning the same. A number of Astrology
institutes have come up to propagate this Astro science. Using naksatra interpretation in natal chart and
horary chart is superior .But there are few literatures and also few great scholars in astrology available to
teach naksatra Sidhantha and methods of using naksatras in Prasna Sastra. Guruji Sri NV Raghavachary
(Meena2), in early 1983, developed the method of dividing a day into Naksatras and gave hints on how to
use the same when Poojiya Guruji Poornanadha Swamy of Srisailam Ashram asked my father, Guruji Sri
NV Raghavachary, how to use the division of day into naksatras. I took the hint given in Practical Stellar
astrology by Meena2, and started working on fixing Lagna using Naksatra division and have used it for the
past 15 years. Later I reworked the method of fixing Lagna by using Jeeva and Sareera concepts to arrive at
timing of events in Naksatra Prasna methods. It was amazing to find out that it helps us to know what is in
the querist’s mind and how strong his thoughts are on the question he is willing to ask. I trust you will all
make use of this system and reap benefits out of it. In this article, I have given four ways of working Lagna
and interpreting the horary chart to decode events likely to happen or to answer the question asked by the
querist. I proudly declare that Guruji Sri NV Raghavachary (Meena2) has given us number of Naadi (stellar
)secrets in Practical Stellar astrology.

How to use this system in horary astrology?

How to arrive or identify the Naksatra at the time of Prasna?
Example:1: Came with lot of mental disturbance and lack of adjustment with wife?
9th September 2011-Quarry time:20:00:10 Hrs
Place: Secunderabad
Sun Rise:6:06:00 Nakshatra at the time of Sun rise: Sravanam
Week day: Friday.

We have to arrive the at the time query which star (naksatra) is running, this will indicate the nature of
query or events may materialise or not.We have to add the duration of star from sun rise time using
duration given from the above table. The starting star is nothing but the star at the time of Sunrise. Use the
same method of finding out Lagna balance to find out the balance of star duration at the time of sunrise:
example, star at the time of sunrise on 9-9-11 is Sravana i.e. Moon at the degree of 13 deg 48mts in Sravana
2nd pada in Makara Rasi(Capricorn) i.e. balance of Sravana naksatra duration is 9 deg 32mts(Sravana is up
to 23deg20mts—duration of Moon passed at the time of sunrise i.e.13deg48mts= balance duration of
Sravana naksatra(star) is 9 deg32mts.
As per table Sravana Naksatra duration for 13deg20mts = 40 mts
Hence for balance 9deg32mts duration of Sravana Naksatra = 40 x 572 =28mts6secs=28mts

Horary Moon

Methods for interpretation:

A) General
1. Keeping the normal Lagna at the time of question as a Lagna and link the relationship with the
horary moon’s star lard and give prediction.
2. By using the relationship with the Horary Moon to Day rising Moon.
3. Keep the horary Moon’s star lord as Lagna and give prediction.

B) Advanced method of interpretation:

1. Take the Horary Moon’s star Lord as Lagna and find out Horary Moons’ star lords Jeeva and
Sareera planet, linking this we can give prediction.

A) General method analysis:

- 38 -
JASA Vol. 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011

Horary Moon is Makha naksatra, whose lord is Ketu; generally Ketu is karaka for depression of stoppage or
termination of anything. Ketu is posited in Taurus (Rishaba) whose lord is Venus, connection with finance
or women or life partner. Here horary naksatra Makha is with 7th lord Mercury and 8th lord Venus in 6th
house. Venus is heading towards her debilitation house. Main cause for this person’s worry or depression
due to his wife, he just fought with her and came to me for consultation. I just asked him, is the relationship
with wife is making depressed, he confirmed the same and Horary Moon is also indicating the same.
Let us look at the relationship between Day rising Moon (in Capricorn) and Horary rising Moon (Leo)
Both were in sashtashtaga, this shows clear indication of mental disturbance and nothing is moving well for
the native.

Let us analyse keeping horary Moons’ star lord Ketu as Lagna, Ketu is in Taurus (Rishaba) whose lord is
Venus is heading towards its debilitation and also with Sun losing her lustre, this shows the native is not
happy and is in depression. The Seventh lord Mars is posited in Cancer (Karkataka) the debilitated sign for
him, this also shows relationship with wife or partner is not smooth.

Since Jupiter’s aspect is there on Horary Moon relationship will surely improve and once Venus goes to her
own house and Mars gets into Leo sign will give him lot of relief in domestic life.

B) Advanced Method using Jeeva and Sareera:

Horary Moon is in the star of Makha whose lord is Ketu. Ketu is in the star of Mars (Mrigaseera), hence
Mars has become Jeeva planet of Ketu. Jeeva Planet Mars is in the star of Jupiter (Punarvasu) hence Jupiter
has become Sareera planet for Ketu. Keeping Ketu posited house as Lagna, by linking Mars and Jupiter we
can come to a conclusion about the query. Note in the Lagna Ketu, this itself will show that there is a
problem to self. Secondly Jeeva planet Jupiter is 8th lord is posited in Aries Mar’s house in the star of
Venus, Mars is the 7th lord and Venus is the Lagna lord, hence there is a problem or difficulty to 7th house
and self matters and Sareera planet Mars is 7th lord is posited in its debilitated sign Cancer (Karkataka).
Situation at the time of question clearly indicates that there is a problem between husband and wife; note
Sareera planet Mars is posited in 3rd house (communication house) and Jeeva planet posited in 12th house,
hence there is a no communication between them. By applying Jeeva and Sareera concepts to this Naksatra
Prasna we can arrive the nature of the problem the native is facing.

Day Rising Naksatra

Sadabhisa (Sun Rise)

Prasna Naksatra Pubba at 7.30PM

Horary Moon

- 40 -
JASA Vol. 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011

Interpretation and analysis by using advanced method:

At the time of receiving the telephone call from the native who is camping in Canada, horary Moon is
Pubba and day rising Moon is Sadabisha. Pubba naksatra lord is Venus. Take Venus posited house as
Lagna and analyse the Prasna. The Venus is posited in Virgo (Kanya) along with Saturn. Venus is in the
star of Sun, the sun has become Jeeva for Venus and Jeeva planet Sun is in the star of Venus; hence Venus
has become Sareera for Venus. Note Jeeva and Sareera planets have Naksatra parivarthana.
Jeeva Planet is posited in 12th house in Leo sign along with Lagna lord Mercury. Lagna the self and soul
(Jeeva) is connected to 12th house indicates the native’s life is in foreign country only. Jeeva planet Sun and
Lagna Lord Mercury are with horary Moon, this shows that he will be taking decision very quickly and
within short period from the time of question whether to file papers to stay in Canada or leaving to India.
Sareera planet Venus is the lord of 2nd and 9th house and posited in her debilitated house, this also shows
the native has to leave his own house or country for a long distance.

After analysing it was declared that in his last days he will be spending his period in abroad. Then he asked,
will it be safe and things will go very well or not? Here note that Day rising Moon and Horary raising
Moon are in samasapthaka position, this indicates that the native will be very happy there and things will
happen according to his wish and he need not worry. Actually native filed his papers within a week’s time
at Canada for permanent stay.

Naksatra Prasna is a wonderful method to know the nature of the question, nature of events likely to happen
and whether question in mind will render positive results or not. Actually I have delivered a number of talks
on Naksatra Prasna based on Guruji Sri. NV Raghavachary (Meena2) 2 division of day into Naksatras at
different places like Chennai, Trichy, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata. I have given application theory in my
research publication of Stellar Effects in Astrology-Jeeva and Sareera. In this article too, I have given step
by step application theory for everyone to understand and use this method for instant prasnas. Some more
application theory on this Naksatra Prasna will be published as a book shortly with more example charts for
the benefit of readers.

There was an article in an internet group titled “Unproven Pluto Adverse Effect” 3 The statistical analysis and
conclusions based on it, presented in above referred article, were not convincing to me. This inspired me to analyze
same data to find out whether Pluto really has some adverse effect or not. My humble attempt to search the truth is
presented below. Hope my approach and the way of analysis will appeal to all learned astrologers.

The phrase “Pluto Effect” appears to be coined by respected Sunil Gondhalekar ji after study and research of some
40+ charts collected by him during past 7/8 years. His experience points that this so called “Pluto Effect” is
applicable in various fields like marriage, job, service, no success in profession, loss of wealth, progeny etc.
However it is understood that he (Mr. Gondhalekar) has not formulated any rules for this yet. Readers are requested
to refer the internet group 4 wherein Mr. Gondhalekar has clearly mentioned that result of Pluto effect, in case of
marriage, is generally denial of marriage or if married this will lead to divorce.

This phrase “Pluto Effect” first appeared in an internet group in a message 5 on 12th June 2011. And the file
“Unproven Pluto Adverse Effect” was up loaded on 21st June 2011. The author has studied 165 charts in such a short
time. The pains taken by the author in collecting and studying such a huge data and presenting his findings to the
honorable members of that group is worth appreciating.

Details of Charts studied by the author are as given below:

1. ‘unmarried’ charts in message #23786 6

2. ‘No marriage’ charts in the book by Umang Taneja: “Marriage and relationships” 2006, pp 142-153 (Note:
DOB/TOB/POB not mentioned in the article)
3. Astro-Databank (ADB) AA 100 ‘unmarried’ charts (Note: DOB/TOB/POB for only 10 charts with so called
Pluto effect are given in Appendix 1)
4. ADB AA 40 ‘married’ charts( Appendix 2)

Total 165

However DOB/TOB/POB and other details for only 65 charts are provided in the article.
15 charts (from Sr. No. 1) + 10 charts (from Sr. No. 3) + 40 charts (from Sr. No. 4) = 65

4 Step Pluto Effect

The author, in this article, has used the phrase “4 Step Pluto Effect” in paragraphs 1 to 5. If Pluto has any
effect on nativity it can simply be termed as Pluto Effect. It cannot be differentiated as “4 Step Pluto Effect” or “KP

Pluto Effect” or “Vedic Pluto Effect” or “Western Pluto Effect”. This reflects author’s prejudiced attitude towards 4
Step.

Author’s findings
Firstly it is a well known fact that there are many astrological reasons for a native to remain unmarried. This so called
“Pluto Effect” is one additional reason as observed and/or experienced by Mr. Gondhalekar. Therefore when one
says that person remains “unmarried” due to “Pluto Effect” it is not correct to say that reverse is also true or
to say that every “unmarried” chart should have such “Pluto connection”. In short “All that glitters is not
Gold”. So calculating percentage of charts afflicted by Pluto and concluding that “Pluto Effect on 7th cusp is not
much to do with no marriage” does not seem to be correct approach. Unfortunately it appears that the purpose of this
study is just to “REJECT” findings of 4 Step pioneer Mr. Gondhalekar.

Secondly this study is based on following TWO parameters only viz.

a. Association or connection of 7 CSL with Pluto (within orb of 3020’) by way of conjunction/aspect.
b. Pluto’s conjunction with 7th cusp (either behind or after 7th cusp) within orb of 3020’which is not sufficient to
prove/disprove Pluto’s adverse effect. If one wants to find out if Pluto has (or does not have) such an adverse
effect or not, then these charts need to be analyzed and studied with some additional parameters such as:

1. Whether 7 CSL promises marriage (without considering so called Pluto Effect) as per prevailing rules of KP
and 4 Step?
2. If yes i.e. if 7 CSL promises marriage, then whether Dasha/Bhukti lords during marriageable age are
favorable for marriage?
3. In case of charts of married persons whether transits of D/B lords ( if the date of marriage is known) are
favorable?. In case of unmarried charts there is no need to check transits of D/B lords.

If, and only if, answers to these questions are YES and still native remains unmarried (or is divorced if
married) and of course Pluto connection to 7CSL and/or D/B lords exists, we can ascribe such adverse effect to
Pluto.

The study of available 65 charts (25 unmarried charts plus 40 married charts) with these additional parameters reveal
following facts which are CONTRARY TO CONCLUSIONS IN THE ARTICLE referred above. Since KP
advocates use of Vedic sign to sign aspects/conjunctions, these are also considered separately.

The author has studied 100 “unmarried” charts from Astro Data Bank and found only 10 charts with so called Pluto
Effect which were given in Apopendix-1. However details of remaining 90 charts are not given in the said
article. These 90 charts could have been of immense help in authenticating the findings of this study. Anyway study
of 10 charts in Appendix-1 (of the said article) with these additional parameters is tabulated in following Table.
Serial. numbers in Table 2 and Table 3 are continued from Table 1 for easy reference.

Observations on Table 1:
1. There is so called Pluto Effect on 11 out of 15 charts (73.33%) as against only ONE chart claimed by
author.
2. Out of these 11 charts there is no promise of marriage in charts 4, 8, 11, 12, 13 and 15 (6 out of 11 i.e.
54.54%) either by KP or 4 Step. So Pluto Effect MAY OR MAY NOT BE the reason for “no
marriage” in these 6 charts.
3. Therefore in 5 out of 11 (45.45%) charts the apparent reason can finally be confirmed as Pluto Effect.

Observations on Table 2:
1. There is Pluto Effect on 10 out of 10 charts. (100%)
2. Out of these 10 charts there is no promise of marriage in charts 3, 4, 5, and 6 (4 out of 10 i.e. 40%)
either by KP or 4 Step. So Pluto Effect may or may not be the reason for “no marriage” in these 4
charts.
3. Therefore in 6 out of 10 (60%) charts the apparent reason can finally be confirmed as Pluto Effect.

Next, study of 40 charts of “married” persons (mentioned in Appendix-2 of the said article) with additional
parameters is tabulated in following table.

Observations on Table 3:

1. Birth details for chart Nos. 11 and 36 were not available in Astro Data Bank. Further Chart No. 25 is
repetition of Chart No. 24 and Chart No. 37 is repetition of Chart No. 21. Thus this study covers only
36 charts.
2. There is totally No Pluto connection to 7 CSL as well as Dasha-Bhukti at marriageable age in charts
No 5 and 35.
3. Out of 36 charts, only 4 charts (Nos. 2, 4, 10 and 38) are unmarried (11.11%), 12 charts (Nos.
1,5,6,7,13,20,21,28,30,32,33 and 35) are having No Pluto connection on Dasha-Bhukti at marriageable
age and hence can marry provided marriage is promised (33.33%) 20 charts
(highlighted in yellow in Table 3) out of 36 charts are divorced (55.55%)

Total 99.99%
4. Out of 36 charts only 4 (Nos. 8, 16, 18 and 39) are married and not divorced (11.11%)
5. Above statistics proves the observation of Mr. Sunil Gondhalekar that effect of Pluto connection to 7th
CSL and/or Dasha-Bhukti at the marriageable age is that either native remains unmarried or gets
divorced if married.

General Conclusions:
1 In 25 “unmarried” charts Pluto connection to 7 CSL and/or DB at marriageable age is found in
21 charts (84%).
2 However denial of marriage due to Pluto connection can be authenticated in 12 charts (48%)
only.
3 In 36 “married” charts Pluto connection to 7 CSL and/or DB at marriageable age is found in 34
charts (94.44%).

Editor’ Note
Since many years, some self-styled KP reference givers on the internet are trying to force people believe that
whatever they say—in the name of spurious research—is the whole truth of astrology. They are churning out
spurious research work through their own magazine, disallowing any form of criticism to be published. Sri Ektare
ji’s analysis (similar version is also available in k_p_system@yahoogroups.com) exposes the fraud of such self-
proclaimed leaders of KP. Sri Ektare ji has done a great service to the field of astrology!!

JASA Vol. 1(3) Nov – Dec 2011

To,
JASA
The Editor,
Mr. Andrew Dutta

Respected Sir,

First of all, I would like to congratulate you for bringing this JASA Journal. I am very much impressed to buy the innovative thoughts
published in this Journal. It will definitely help KP readers gain in depth knowledge about the respective study.

I take this opportunity to resolve the query on following grounds of KP rules.

To start with, 5th CSL is of prime importance for Love Marriages. In regards with the word "materialize", 11th cusp is must to fulfil the
desire.

Applied Rule: If 5th CSL would be the significator of 11th House, then the native is blessed with Love Marriage in the DBAS of 5 and
11.

In the given query, 5th CSL and 7th CSL is Jupiter, which indicates a love affair. Jupiter is the owner of 2nd and 4th (expenditure of
love-12th to 5th) Houses in the 8th House. Jupiter is in the star of Saturn and in its own Sub. Saturn is the owner of 3rd House in the
7th House.

Jupiter does not have any planet in its star, and its placement in 8th House strongly signifies the 8th House (failure in love), and does
not signify the 11th House (fulfilment of desire). Thus, love affair cannot be materialized.

Moreover, Jupiter is retrograde and placed in its own sub to discard the query absolutely.

Dear Andrew,

First of all my Best wishes to you for presenting this wonderful Astrology Journal "JASA".

I will try to resolve the query in the september issue(FFT) through KB cuspal interlink method.

Query is will my love affair materialize?

Lagna sub lord reveal the nature of query . Here Lagna sub as well as 5th cusp sub lord (Primary cusp) is Jupiter and also sub lord
of 7th cusp(marriage).

Jupiter is in saturn star and its own sub( Special case as per KB while planet is in own sub)

Jupiter-1,5,7-Source and sambhava

Saturn- star lord of 4, sub lord of 6.-Decider

So Jupiter indicating the questioned bhava and Star lord saturn is the decider whether fruitful or not. saturn appeared in 6th cusp
sub lord(negating marriage ) and also star lord of 4th(negation of love primary cusp 5).

Its clearly evident that love affair will not materialize in the above case.

Thanks & Regards,

Dear Andrew,

Thank you for providing this magazine free of cost. I wish you all the very best for its success. May it prove to be the vehicle
of intellectual exchange and a source of education for KP enthusiasts.

I also thank you for inviting me to write for this magazine. I shall certainly do so. Bear with me, though, as I work for the
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the nature of my job requires me to spend very long hours (even days)
looking after victims of persecution and persons whose lives have been shattered. I can only do some astrological work when
I find the space of time from such arduous work. Having said that, astrology is my passion and I shall be happy to contribute
what little I can. Please do keep me in the loop with developments.

Once again, many thanks.

Hello Mr Senthilathiban,

Thank you for sending me your PDF file re: JASA article, and congratulations on
having provided - for the rapidly growing group of astrologers now entirely dependent
upon the computer for their charts - an important astronavigational account of the
derivation of house cusps. I imagine it will be like a bucket of ice cold water being
thrown into the almost entirely qualitative and conveniently cosy world that is
modern astrology in the West!

Apart from my astrological practice, I do no additional work in astrology, and ceased

teaching the subject outside of my local group some years ago. However, my work in
megalithic astronomy has recourse to many of the formulae you have wisely included as
reference and 'grounding' of your article. It is a sad fact about the art of
astrology that it has largely lost its mathematical, geographical and geometrical
roots - which one might group as the 'Platonic roots' of the subject.

The history of astrology is presently a shallow affair that begins in classical

Greece and nobody goes back any further, yet clearly the roots of megalithic science
infer that it both did go back further and that it may have been quite sophisticated,
certainly way beyond the Sun-Sign nonsense that passes for astrology today.

In archaeology and anthropology the situation is no better - there is a belief that

ancient cultures prior to the Age of Enlightenment were unable to fathom out the kind
of refined navigational journeys in the stars or on the surface of the earth because
they either could not count or were incapable of deriving useful methods for
determining latitude longitude on either the celestial or the earthly sphere. The
study of ancient metrology proves this to be a false view, as does the precise
placement of many prehistoric monuments in order to define the solstices or equioxes,
extreme rises and settings of the moon in the 18.61 year cycle of the nodes, and, of
course, eclipse prediction.

I have passed your article on to my brother Richard, who has three titles published
with Inner Traditions, in Vermont USA. He is currently working with star positions in
prehistory and may well find your reference work valuable.

I refer you to my website at the bottom of this email reply, and again thank you for
sending me this article, which demonstrates that, at least in one part of the globe,
astrology retains its strong quantitative foundations.

Best wishes in your sterling work.
