SUbject: Carrying of Currency Note of Rs.2,000/- for Haj Pilgrims. Clarification thereof.

It is clarified that there is no restriction in carrying out the currency notes of Rs,2,000/-
denomination by Raj Pilgrims to Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is also clarified that any
denomination of the legal notes can be carried within the limit permitted under Foreign Exchange
Management (Export & Import of Currency) Regulations, 2015.

This is issued in consultation with Reserve Bank of India.
