To receive, administer, and expend funds for
educational, research, scientific, and
charitable purposes, in order to increase the
knowledge and understanding of concrete
materials and to support programs that
improve concrete design and construction.
The SDC facilitates advancement of concrete
technology by:
• Providing a forum for visioning and prioritizing key
challenges facing the concrete industry;
• Assisting ACI in the introduction and timely adoption
of innovative technologies, problem solutions, and
best practices; and
• Providing a framework for development of programs
that respond to industry opportunities and
accelerate technology acceptance.
Advances the knowledge and sustainable
aspects of concrete materials, construction
and structures by soliciting and selecting
research proposals, assisting in financing
them, guiding the research and publishing
the results, in coordination with the ACI
technical committees where possible.
Administers Scholarship and Fellowship
programs for the ACI Foundation
