The Prescor B and Prescor SB safety valves protect closed potable water systems
(water heaters etc.) against a rising pressure. Because water expands and because
there is a non-return valve fitted, such a safeguard is a statutory requirement.
Water cannot be compressed, so if no safeguard is fitted, very high pressures can
occur and damage the system. Local standards, guidelines and water pressure
must be respected when using Prescor B/SB valves.

The Prescor safety valve diaphragm is designed
so that it not only forms a perfect seal, it can also
achieve a significant blow-off capacity. For that
reason, the hardness of the rubber must be
adjusted to the pre-set pressure level of the
safety valve. The combination of a specifically
designed valve diaphragm and special rubber
means the best in safety.

Practical instructions for correctly fitting Prescor safety valves

◆ Carefully decide which size of safety valve you need.
◆ Fit the safety valve vertically, with the flow in the direction shown by the arrows.
◆ There must be a free, visible opening of at least 2 cm between the safety valve and
the discharge pipe. Use a Flamco funnel for this.
◆ The safety valve must be fitted as close as possible to the water heater.
◆ To prevent damage to the valve, welding or soldering must be completed prior to
the safety valve being fitted.
