The text message included threatening comments against a group of students. When brought
to our attention, we immediately notified law enforcement, who conducted a thorough
investigation. Law enforcement were able to identify the individuals responsible for the text that
was reported to our administrators. All parents of students involved were contacted and we are
thankful for the quick response as we worked alongside of our police department to resolve
this concern.
Please know that the individuals responsible will face appropriate disciplinary action based on
our student code of conduct. Any threat against student safety will not be tolerated, and we will
always take precautions to keep our students and staff members safe.
I know that our students and staff members experienced a very challenging last year, and
threats of this nature bring anxiety to all our SFISD community-students, parents and staff
alike. I am proud of the way our SFHS staff and students reacted to the situation.
I ask that you continue to support us in our efforts to ensure safety and immediately report to
school authorities any situation that you or your child find threatening or dangerous. In regards
to text messages and social media posts, please speak to your children and remind them not
to take part in threatening behavior of any kind. We will continue to communicate our findings
to you when we receive reports of this nature.
Sincerely,
Rachel Blundell
