The transmission line (TL) is divided into three sub assembly stages T1, T2, T3. Each
stage consists of assembling a set of parts, which is unique to that stage. 0In the
T1 section ,the left and right axial gear cases are partially assembled to the main
axial gear case .The cases are made of cast iron. The right and left axle gear
case are symmetrical and both easily assemble onto the left and right side of
gear box. But as other parts are assembled obstruction of parts occurs and
hence it is necessary to assemble left and right axle case accordingly. Each
axial gear case (both left and right) consists of axle with a key, to lock its position
and a main shaft. The output shaft of the gear box is meshed with the axle shaft
using a 53 teeth gear to transfer power to the wheel. Different bearings are used
to support the rotating shafts in the casing. As lubrication is provided in the
bearings, oil seals are provided to prevent any leakage.

T3 (DAY 3)
From the main clutch , the power is partly transmitted to the gears and
partly to the chain sprocket .So ,the transmission line section deals
with the complete formation of the gearbox. The gearbox is a sliding
type. The speed change lever can be set at three different positions
using d-compression spring .High speed, neutral and low speed .High
speed and low speed have 3 gears each.
After the entire transmission is assembled after the three stages, it
undergoes testing and inspection. In the testing phase, it is ensured all
the geared are properly meshing so as to provide the required gear
ratios. If all the intricate mechanisms work as desired , the
transmission system is transported to the KMB line, where it is
attached onto the tiller.
