The Way It’s Done Today The Way Forward With IPC
Technology
IPC gives the Department of Transportation the information they need to help properly budget &
maintain the infrastructure. This helps keep our infrastructure safe and extend the service life of
our infrastructure assets resulting in billions in infrastructure savings.
1- The first utilizes electrical capacitance technology and locates air, water and bleeding grout
(pre-cursors to corrosion).
2-The second device is a magnetic flux leakage device that locates section loss in post
tensioned tendons.
VS
Post Tension Tendon inspection service that peers through concrete and steel to properly
assess a post tension tendon. The enclosed video is showing a bridge inspection of post
tension tendons. This equipment is portable, wireless and accurate.
The information is beamed seamlessly from the TendonScan® unit to a laptop. Tendons are
marked when loss of metallic area is located and reports are constructed through the software.
All inspections are conducted by experienced bridge inspection field crews and familiar reports
submitted to the engineering firm or asset owner.
CableScan® is a robotic inspection of a cable stayed bridge from 8” away using high definition
video and stills of anomaly’s on a cable. The robot is portable, wireless and is run by an
experienced bridge inspector. All results are in the format that the DOT is accustomed and can
be entered into the bridge management system. CableScan views 360 degrees of the bridge
cable from 8” away taking high definition streaming video of the cable stay as well as snapshots
of any issues.
The location of any issues along the cable are recorded as well as the spot on the ground where
a bucket truck would need to park to conduct the repairs. The unit can drive around grout ports
or other obstructions and conducts a complete 360 degree inspection of the cable without lane
closures or bucket trucks obstructing traffic.
Today’s Inspection of a Cable Stay Bridge. IPC’s Robotic Cable Stay Inspection.
Old Method CableScan® “Patented”
VS
CableScan® MFL utilizes Magnetic Flux Leakage to peer through the cable sheething and
locate loss of metallic area in the steel cable within the sheething. Robotic inspection service is
portable, light weight and accurate. Most inspection do not need lane closures or bucket trucks.
VS
The service also includes UT of the anchor bolts. Polescan® exceeds AASHTO and FHWA
guidelines and offers more quantitative data to the asset owners than ever seen before.
BridgeScan®
Bridge Deck & Approach Way Inspection Service
VS
BridgeScan® is a complete bridge deck and approach roadway condition assessment. Based
on GPR BridgeScan® goes way beyond GPR in its findings. Able to detect delamination,
debonding, voids, rebar placement, water intrusion and more, Not only can BridgeScan®
provide an action plan across multiple bridges but can also provide the budget for repairs in
order to better allocate assets in priority order.
Specifically designed for bridge decks, BridgeScan can also be used on runways, docks, piers
and other water control and concrete structures. For more information:

In Field Video
Bridge Crack Inspection IPC Concrete Crack Inspection (No lane Closures)
Old Method CrackScan™
VS
Concrete crack inspections to .005 from 130 feet. No lane closures or bucket trucks. Provides 2
and 3 D crack maps as well as crack progression over time.
RopeScan®
Wire rope inspection service. Know when to replace your wire ropes.

Measuring the tensile load of a cable from a distance
Post analysis software that can calculate the tensile forces in real time
Eliminates lane closures and costly man lift devices

ColumnScan®
Robotic column inspections.
Utilizes visual and infrared to inspect the interior of columns or shafts.
Think of the day-to-day inconvenience of road maintenance. Road and bridge closures for
routine inspections are a thing of the past thanks to IPC’s robotic technologies.
Our goal at Infrastructure Preservation Corporation is to find early stage corrosion and
deterioration in structures before it compromises the integrity of those structures and puts
the public at risk. For more information contact: doug@infrastructurepc.com.
