Executive summary

This report was to analyze the future prospects of Minister and to evaluate the future prospects in
the domestic electronic market.
After doing some research we found that Minister is becoming a name of trust day by day to the
local and middle class people of Bangladesh by providing quality products and satisfying
services. After years of journey, passing so many ups and downs it has started to reign its
position in the local electronic market.
Minister is not too old compared to its other competitors yet their progress is incredible. Recently
they had started some marketing to grow their opportunities to become the market leader. As the
demand of domestic electronic products is increasing dramatically, they are adopting market
development strategy and product development to cope up with the future.
One of the biggest advantage of Minister is their price and warranty service. Although it’s other
competitors might have more product lines in some cases but the way Minister provides
customer care service is compared to none. They are trying to attract the customers with their
new products with the least possible price in Bangladesh. As a result, they have also won the
second best looking showroom of this years (2018) Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF).
They are also sponsoring big events and even BPL cricket teams such as “Cumilla Victorians”.
Export prominent and business conferences are their recent targets to make their relationship
even better with other international companies.

MISSION STATEMENT
Their main goal is to reach in every corner of the Bangladesh and distribute high end electronics
products to everyone. They are now mainly focused on the home appliances. But soon they are
planning to grow even bigger to capture the largest portion of the domestic electronic selling
market. As they are the biggest manufacturing company of Bangladesh, it will be easier for them
to take down other competitors within a few years.

VISION STATEMENT
The vision of Minister is to manufacture electronic products locally to make it cost efficient and
to represent Bangladesh in the global market. Using the European technology, they are assuring
to deliver the best quality products to their customers and introducing highly innovative digital
products to every corner of Bangladesh.
INTRODUCTION

Minister Hi-Tech Park LTD is one of the fastest growing electronic oriented company. This
company has established on 1st June 2013. Mr. M. A Razzak Khan is the founder and chairman
of this company. He has established another company on 1st June 2002, which is MyOne
Electronic Ltd. Minister Hi-Tech park is technology and electronic oriented company. Their
motive is they want to produce hi quality product and sale them in affordable price.
They have two factories one is in Gazipur and another one is in Trishal and more than 30000
employees are working there. But their main corporate office located in Dhaka. They create job
opportunity for the employees and it plays great role in economic growth of Bangladesh.
Minister is not that much old like others but still it is one of fastest growing company. Every
time they are trying to introduce us with latest and updated modern technology. They import
high quality product and manufacture them at very low price. CRT Television, LED Television,
Refrigerator, Air Conditioner, Fan, Iron, Rice Cooker, Induction Chula, Toaster, Blender,
Washing Machine & Sandwich Maker are our product line & many more products are in pipeline
to be introducing gradually.
Minister is new and developing industry. They just started their journey but still their
performances are remarkable. There are more than 300 dealers and distributors. They already
open more than 110 showrooms. Their main goal is to reach every corner of Bangladesh and
give hi quality products. Even they are very much encouraged by government.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
An organizational structure is the process of coordinating, allocating, and supervising through
maintain a hierarchical order of authority between the organization to achieve the maximum
organizational goals. Organizational structure helps to operate in a strategic way to accomplish
task in the organization, which gradually brings organization ahead to the desired goals. Minister
Hi-tech is an emerging potential in Bangladesh and their main target is to gain customer
satisfaction with the low cost but high quality product. So they made a product based
organizational structure to achieve customer satisfaction. Most of the employees of Minister are
empowered and they maintain their positions and support organizational decisions.

 WORK SPECIALIZATION:
Work specialization is dividing the work activity into separate job tasks. Individual employees
specialize in doing part of a work rather than the whole work to maximize work output. No doubt
that it is a hi-tech world. Technology is the driving force of the world as well as business world
today. But it is never drive by itself, hi-tech company needs hi-tech workforce. Without work
specialties a high-tech industry cannot think about production and reducing costs. Actually it is
impossible for a general worker to do a special work. Minister is a new emerging big hi-tech
company and they separate their job into different work division according to the work activities
and workers’ ability to do that work efficiently. Minister is going to be one of the leading high
tech brand in Bangladesh.

It is an electronic appliance brand so their work is based one innovation, engineering and
technological and it is differing the company from other organization. Depends on technology
their working process is different from other. High tech organization generally depends on
different kind of expertise. General manager of Minister explained how they separate the
workers based on separate tasks. Company divide their tasks and then separate workers
according to their experience. 80% of the employees along with manager of the company could
ensure that they follow job rotation and job simplification as a design of specialization.

JOB ROTATION:
Job rotation is a process of engaging employees within different organizational tasks. Minister
use this method in order to expose employees to all verticals of an organization. Employees have
many different positive opinions about job rotation.
1. 30% of the employees have said that it reduces the monotony of job.
2. 80% of employees agreed that it reduces the boredom.
3. 50% agreed that company checks employees’ skills, creativity and competencies.
4. It is also developing a wide range of work experience and stress handling ability.
5. Increase productivity and reduces costs.

JOB SIMPLIFICATION:
Job simplification is a process of dividing a job into small components and subsequently
assigning to worker as a whole job. Simply means breaking the job into relatively smaller sub-
parts with the intention to increase the individual’s productivity by minimizing the physical and
mental efforts required to perform a complex job. Minister officials said their work is technical
and complex, so by job simplification they can increase their productivity.
1. By doing the same thing again and again, the employees gain proficiencies in the jobs
assigned to them and as a result, the profitability of the organization increases.
2. By job simplification Minister reduces their training cost.

RECOMMENDATION:
by doing the similar task again and again, the employees may feel boredom and may feel the
monotony. This could be increase employee absenteeism, mistakes and accidents, etc. Due to
these negative consequences, the overall productivity could get harmed, and the organization
may suffer losses as a whole.

 DEPERTMENTALIZATION:
Departmentalization is simply means dividing an organization into different department based
on the tasks and employee’s specialty. Different department does different tasks. It is found in
most Bangladeshi privet and public organization. Minister hi-tech ltd. Is one of the latest
technology based brand in Bangladesh. Their one of the main target is to make a place in the
mind of customer with a high quality product and good service. Their goal is to lead
Bangladeshi hi-tech market and gradually move into international market. They believe that an
organization with a good organizational structure and design where different department based
on different task work together to acquire a goal or target can maximize their reach their goal
precisely and smoothly. Take this matter in their mind they have focused on structuring their
department based on separate tasks because Minister Hi-tech ltd is a multitasked organization.
Minister Hi-tech ltd uses 3 types of departmentalization which is functional, product and
geographic departmentalization.

FUNCTIONAL DEPARTMENTALIZATION:
Functional departmentalization is deviding an organization into different department based on
their functions. Almost every organization follow this departmentalization rules. Because an
organization has different level of functional work and they have to recruit employees based on
that function.Without functional department an organization might be in different types of
problem and organization has to supper.without functionalization organization will mix their
different tasks with one enother and that will create employees job dissatisfaction as well as
customers dissatisfaction. Minister Hi-tech ltd devided their functional work into different
separate department. Minister Hi-tech thinks that functional department is very helpful for their

organizational working efficiency. Their opinion on functionalization was positive. They follow
this criteria 40%
 Almost 80% of the employees agreed that decision making an communication is simple.
 45% agreed that it increases their specialization on the task.
 Employees can communicate the way more friendly with each other in the organization.

PRODUCT DEPARTMENTALIZATION:
Product departmentalization is grouping activities by different types of products line . Generally
most of the multi-production company who produces many different types of product they
follows product departmentalization. Minister Hi-tech company produces many different types
of elctronic product and home appliances for their customer. They follows this technic because
this technic helps them to regulate their production work properly. They produce many kinds of
product like LED TV, Refrigerator, Fan, Air conditionar Kitchen execories, ect. So making their
task easy to regulate all of this functions they use product departmentalization.

 Minister’s authority and Employees said it makes workers more expert on that particular
production and organization overall production increases.

GEOGRAPHIC DEPARTMENTALIZATION:
Geographic departmentalization is divide department or grouping on the basis of different
territory. Lots of organization in Bangladesh use this method to reach their product to
customers from different territory. Minister Hi-tech company manufactures products related
to daily household activities, home appliance and different kind of technological product.
Minister hi-tech’s a major target is introducing their product with each and every consumer
within his market. Primarily they are working on introducing their product within
Bangladesh and gradually their plan is to expand their market in another country. To achieve
their goal and place their product door to door of their customer they have open many
distribution brunch at different district in Bangladesh. They are using geographical
departmentalization to expand their territory.

 ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGN:
Organizational design is the process by which managers assess the tasks, functions and goals of
the business, allowing them to make decisions about how to group people together to best and
most efficiently achieve their objective. Minister Hi-tech is using team design and project design.

TEAM DESIGN:

An organizational design in which the entire organization is made up of work teams that do the
organizational design. Minister Hi-tech is a technology based organization. Their work is
different product based so that’s why they prefer team designing.

 CROSS FUNCTIONAL: Minister basically forms cross functional team when they have
a comparatively complex work and they need different types expertise and skills. General
manager said employees are more involved and empowered in this design.

 PROBLEM SOLVING: Minister use this team when a problem arises. Different types
of skilled employees come from different department and solve the particular problem.
After solving that the temporary team is eliminated.

MATRIX-PROJECT DESIGN:
 MATRIX DESIGN: Minister Hi-tech assigns different types of specialties from
different department to do one or more project. This is permanent.
 PROJECT DESIGN: Minister use this design they need to work on a temporary project,
after project is done every employee move to their department.

RECOMMENDATION:
Matrix design sometimes creates problem because employee has two managers, one project
manager another one department manager and employee has to obey both. That creates problem
so organization should avoid this design or have to handle technically.

SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS
 INTERNAL ENVIRONMENT:
Relationship: Senior manager said that company’s internal relationship is good,
chairman sir give time for prayer and internal activities with employees and chairman sir
believe that maintain good relationship with each of the company’s employees and it will
help you for batter service from employees. Companies 90% employees said that their
top managers are friendly and helpful they maintain their religious, functional and
cultural activities with their top managers. So, minister company need to make
relationship with their office employees for get best outputs from employees it will help
you to fight with their competitor.
Resources: Minister company’s senior managers said that they have enough resources
they have no shortage and they told us that they use their resources properly. But I think
they have lacking employee’s skill for electronics purpose. If they higher foreign
experience employees and under that experienced officers, they can develop their local
employees or they can develop their local employees through helping them to achieve
foreign professional degree.
Plans and Policies: Top three senior managers told us that they have strong plan and
policies for next 30 years. Their main competitor is Walton and they said for their strong
plans and policies, some side they are stronger than Walton. So I think if they make many
shorter term plans and policies with long term plans and policies then they can success.
 EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT:
Demography: They try to less their product cost without compromising the quality for
social average common income and characteristic. For that reason, they are fighting in
the market place with the competitors and their main competitor is Walton. But I think
with this thing if they concentrate creating the companies value then it will be more
effective for minister companies
Political: Some time managers cannot handle the loses for political situation. Company
cannot distribute their product and many more things are happening for political situation
which are unexpected. And they appreciate that it’s so costly for companies. According
to me if they make many more alternative plans and make a group for this situation those
who will research and find out the solution than they can less their cost.
Economic: Some time company face the problem for changing the economic
environment such as income, inflation, interest rates, productivity and wealth that
influence the buying behavior. Senior manager said if foreign currency rate is higher than
they have to increase their product price which negative for their customer and
companies value and also increasing or decreasing the bank interest rate is negative for
company. I think we cannot handle economic uncertainty but we can reduce our losses by
using well alternative plans, so they should keep well alternative for this economic
situation

We know SWOT analysis used is management and strategy formulation. It helps to identify the
strength, weakness, opportunity and threat of any company. Minister Hi Tech park is the latest
technology and electronic oriented company.
Strength:
 Brand name - Since 2013 Minister is one of the largest local brand of Bangladesh. It is
very known and famous as electronic oriented company.
 Affordable product- though minister is a local brand still they focus on quality. In low
price they give high range product. Their price range started from 2000 TK.
 Management system- their highly qualified and experienced managers. And also highly
educational and professional experienced member of management team help to run the
business. They have great team to manage their system.
 Resources- they have more than 3000 work force. Technologically very advanced and
used their own equipment. Their factory established at Gazipur. They provide very good
quality raw materials and labors as a local country.
 Effective customer service – they provide 2 years’ warranty on their product and also
give the customer free home service.
Suggestion: I think now they should focus on international market. And produce innovative
and ECO friendly product.

Weakness:
 Increasing rate of foreign currency – when foreign currency rate increase, they also
have to increase their product cost unwillingly.
 Production dependency – Minister is an electronic oriented company so most of the raw
material imported from foreign country. So production depend on supplier of raw
material. For their delay production management cannot complete production on time.
This is not good for the company.
 Lacking of skill – people or staff who work in the factory are not well skilled as
international companies like Sony, Samsung, LG etc.
 Market demand- there are huge demands of their product. They can only full fill 65% -
75% demands. Now this is become as their weakness.

Suggestion: they should open training center for their employees because labors are one of their
raw material and lack of skill can cause of loss.

Opportunity:
 Economic growth of Bangladesh
 Life style changes – Because of price people can easily afford electrical product.
Specially for lower middle class and village side. Minister gives an opportunity to
change everyone’s life style.
 Distributor and showrooms – In Bangladesh there are more than 110 showrooms and no
long term distributors. There have also 300 distributors and dealers.

Threats:
 Competitors – Minister is a local brand but in market there are more foreign brands
like Samsung, LG, Sony etc. are strong competitor. It can be great threat. Minister sees
Walton as one of the biggest competitor as local company.
Changing technology – technology is not constant. Everyday people innovate new technology.
So this company should focus on technology and innovative idea or else they can lose their
customer. They need to focus on more idea generation

Seeking to increase the organization’s business in new business by expansion into new products
and markets. Bangladesh is a very rapidly developing country. Lots of organization are emerging
and investors from outside are very interested to take the high tech market in their control.
Customer’s demand of high tech products is so high in our country. Minister Hi-tech company is
a domestic company and their main goal is to achieve this market by competing with those
foreign competitive products. So to dominate local market they generally use two types of
growth strategy.

VARTICAL INTEGRATION:
Is attempting to gain control on input to become a raw material supplier and on the other hand
becoming a self distributer. Minister Hi-tech company supplying their own industry related raw
materials, automatically they are reducing their supply cost. Minister Company’s goal is to gain
profit also to supply raw materials to other competitors. On the other hand, the company is
saving cost of distribution by attempting to create self-distribution channel. Minister Hi-tech
thinks this is an effective strategy to compete with the local as well as international competitor.
They think that that will bring a great fortune for the company in the future.
RELATED DIVERSIFICATION:
This is a growth strategy where company expand its activities into product lines similar to their
current offerings. Minister Hi-tech offers electronic product like TV, Refrigerator, Washing

machine, Air conditioner, Cooler, etc. In Bangladesh modernization increasing day by day
following through government policy of being “DEGITAL BANGLADESH VISION 21” and
through developed western country. So minister company as a highly customer oriented
company thinks that they have to modernize their product line to produce modern technology to

market and gain competitive advantages. Minister Hi-tech Ltd is a highly innovative
organization. Their vision is to gain the market of Bangladesh and place themselves in the
international market. Higher manager and the employees think that to achieve their target they
have to do something different from other competitors. They have to create preference in the
mind of their customer. Minister focuses on total quality management of their organization to
differentiate them to achieve continuous improvement.

It is a criteria of competitive strategy an organization can follow to differentiate the firm from
other and can create a value to the customer. Cost leadership is basically lowering the cost of
production. So Minister Hi-tech basically try to serve a good product at a low cost compared to
other in the same market. Bangladesh is growing in economic sector and technological sector.
Modernization increasing people’s demand. Minister’s one of the important goal is they want to
reach their product to every level of people. So their policy is to reduce their cost of producing so
that everyone can afford it and can acquire best quality within a lower cost. They strongly

believe that it will increase firm’s competitive advantage and will help firm to achieve their
desired goals.

DIFFERENTIATION STRATEGY:

Differentiation strategy is creating a product or service with distinctive attribute that makes
organization different from competitors. Minister company differentiating their products by
using some unique technology which is missing in other competitor’s products. Their unique
technology making them different from other domestic competitors and giving competitive
advantages.

 In Refrigerator they are using Jiaxipera company’s compressor which is one of the best
compressor and no other domestic competitors use it.
 Refrigerator saves up to 66% electricity because they use automatic stimulating system
in their compressor. The compressor automatically shuts at a certain point of cooling and
turns on when refrigerator needs to be cold.
 It is vitamin protective that means its cooling system does not harm foods and it remains
cold without electricity a long time.

MANAGERS ROALS AND SKILLS:


Every manager is a leader and their work is to lead the subordinates. Minister Hi-
tech’s managers are highly decorated and motivated. They are too friendly and
free with their subordinates. They coordinate the work of sub ordinates so softly
and always motivate subordinates. Honorable GM S.M Salahuddin said that they
hire and train the subordinate in a manner what makes subordinates motivated for
achievement.
Managers monitors the works of subordinate, gives them different tasks related to
company’s operation and gives compensations and rewards for good job.
Managers of Minister Hi-tech find company’s complex problems and makes plan
and strategy to cope up from the problems.
Honorable chairman/MD, GM, Brand manager and other higher level managers
allocate resources and make annual budget.
Managers collect information of internal and external environment and
disseminate that in the organization.
Managers of Minister handles inside and outside disturbances very technically.
Managers and chairman of Minister makes deal with foreign supplier mostly from

Manager of Minister always think and motivate his subordinates about how they
can create their value in the market.
Minister’s top level managers and chairman always think about customers, GM

We are in a new era of social media like Facebook, twitter, YouTube, etc. An untold trend has
started in the field of buying and selling product. Uncountable companies selling and marketing
their product through social media. Manager of Minister Hi-tech Ltd. Ensure us that they have a
Facebook official page, where they display their products. They take order through Facebook
and sell product also. They do advertising in another social media also.

CONCLUSION
Minister hi-tech Ltd. has a goal to be the best technological brand in Bangladesh. It has
successfully positioned itself as a customer friendly and eco-friendly company. It’s after sales
service has contributed tremendously in building this image in customers’ minds.

Since its target market is middle-income people, the price of their products is comparatively
lower than those of competitors’. This strategy helps the company greatly in a price sensitive
consumers market. We all wish Minister to be in the highest position. Be with minister.
