2 Scope
The version ACP_5103 supports the following device types. The behaviour of the device adapts
dependent on the type code:
3 Hardware Requirements
Compact PCI-Rack
200 MHz Ariel Board (A329646.x). or
Oberon Board (A341076.>3)
EEPROM Mon 4.26 (GECDCPU114A)
MSB, Master Scan-Board, Revision: 0

USB Stick (F7.0486.1429.0).
(Labelling rule for the application disks: ACPNNNN_X_Y were NNNN is the Release Number and X =
1 ... 3 defines the disk number and Y = 3 is the total number of application disks.)
Take 8 formatted diskettes (HDD, 1.44MB, DOS); non-empty disks will be erased.
Open a shell (cmd, command).
Change to the distribution directory ... \5146_ADC_Compact_Plus\acp_5103 mentioned on the
cover page.
Start "floppy.bat" (without parameters) for information about the "floppy" tool.
Start "floppy.bat c" and follow the program advices, sticking your labels (as presented above) to
the diskettes.
This is necessary on new devices in production or if you exchanged the hard disk. In this case the
Portex operating system must be installed before the application software can be installed.
When installing an ADC Compact Plus, replace CR75.0 with ADC Compact Plus where necessary.
Take the Harddisk formatter floppy of ACP_5103 and insert it into the disk drive of the Digitizer.
Make sure the Digitizer is disconnected from the network (since a default IP-Address & hostname
will be configured)
Connect a PC with terminal program or a serial terminal to service RS232 port (9600 baud,
Xon/Xoff, no parity, 8 bit, 1 stop bit).
Press the Reset on CPU-Board or turn Power Off/On of the Digitizer.
Follow the instructions given on the terminal or as follows:

If the previous software was less than ACP_1201, then close the machine doors and scan or
erase one cassette (for calibration of PM monitoring, see MUCft01014). This cassette needs not to
be exposed.
Go to the service menu on the LCD screen, select Install data and Languages and follow the
instructions to install the language files. This is important, because old language files are no
longer valid. Switch off and on the digitizer to activate the new language files.
Refresh your backup.
Make sure the Digitizer is disconnected from the network (never connect the Digitizer to the
network before configuring it with a valid CPF-file!)
Generate the CPF-file with the QS, the VIPS or the CCM
Parse the CPF-File using the guidelines of the Service Menu Topic Install from floppy, CPF-File
follow the instructions displayed on the user interface.
Reboot the system.
Reconnect Digitizer to the network
If the previous software was less than ACP_1201, then close the machine doors and scan or
erase one cassette (for calibration of PM monitoring, see MUCft01014). This cassette needs not to
be exposed.
Refresh your backup by following the guidelines of Service Menu Topic Save on floppy, Machine
specific data
The production tools are installed for production purposes only and removed again before the device
is delivered to the customer. The production tools will never be installed and must not be used in
the field!
Make sure to use the correct Release Disk for the desired release in the installation procedure.
Insert the floppy Production Tools into the disk drive of the Digitizer.
Connect the Service PC to the service plug (serial) and start a terminal program (9600 baud,
Xon/Xoff, no parity, 8 bit, 1 stop bit).
Type in: A:INSTALL.
Wait until the final message appears and remove the disk. No reboot is necessary to use the
production tools.
6 Installation on Revive
Plug the USB stick into a PC and copy the complete software release directory structure to there. This
can also be done by unzipping the release zip file to the USB stick.
Verify the directory structure on the USB stick. It should look as follows. The USB stick may contain
software versions and a back-up. In case it contains a back-up, the USB stick is additionally named
<TypeNumber><SerialNumber>BAC (this is necessary for restore). Older backup folder names have
the extension BCO.
Disconnect the digitizer from the network. This is necessary since a default IP-Address and
hostname is configured.
Connect the PC to the RS 232 serial port of Revive and start a terminal program with baud rate
115200.
Using the Explorer on a PC, go to the folder acp_5103 on the USB stick and double-click on the
file Prepare_Formatting.cmd. (This has to be done every time, the software is being installed,
because the created startup.com is deleted after execution)
Plug the USB stick into Revive and switch off and on the digitizer.
When asked about formatting the hard disk on the terminal, answer with yes.
Wait until the digitizer has started.
Install the backup from the USB stick, using the service menu on the digitizer LCD terminal.
Switch off and on the digitizer.
Connect the digitizer to the network.
Using the Explorer on a PC, go to the folder acp_5103 on the USB stick and double-click on the
file Prepare_Installation.cmd. (This has to be done every time, the software is being installed,
because the created startup.com is deleted after execution)
Plug the USB stick into Revive and switch off and on the digitizer.
Wait until the digitizer has started.
The production tools are installed for production purposes only and removed again before the device
is delivered to the customer. The production tools will never be installed and must not be used in
the field!
Connect the PC to the RS 232 serial port of Revive and start a terminal program with baud rate
115200.
Plug the USB stick into Revive.
On the terminal, call a:/acp_5103/InstProd.com

7.4 Restrictions
8 Important Remarks
A new Portex Version (2006.04 for Oberon / 2008.04 for Revive) accompanies the releases acp_5007
and acp_5103. In case of an upgrade from a version < acp_5007, an update of Portex is mandatory.
In case of upgrade from a version < acp_1007 to acp_5103, a new BOL/BOS Calibration is necessary
because of changed IP stop position before start of scan.
In field test devices with Software Releases ACP_20xx (Mammo Fieldtest), mammo_factor was
manually edited to a different value. This value "survives" a software update. In order to get the correct
value also at these devices, mammo_factor has to be edited manually to the default 1.19. Then the
entry in scnxxx00.u00 disappears and the device has the same status as a new series machine.
