PER SESSION VACANCY CIRCULAR # School Year 2010 - 2011 Please Post
POSITION: Teachers, Assistant Principals, Guidance Counselors and Paraprofessionals implementing the iZone Pilots
(Multiple Positions)
LOCATION: New York City Department of Education, various Innovation Zone locations citywide
ELIGIBILITY
REQUIREMENTS:
• Current Teachers at an I-Zone school or a school applying into the iZone
SELECTION CRITERIA:
• Experience with curriculum development, online learning, and integrated learning system & platforms
• Familiarity with online and technology-based curriculum
• Ability to develop customized content and assessments
• Ability to collaborate across content areas and grades as a member of a teacher team
• Proven experience collaborating on curriculum and school improvement initiatives
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Participate in planning and design of instructional components of innovation pilots
SALARY:
• As per current Collective Bargaining Agreement or the most current contractual rate
• Transportation and out-of-pocket expenses will not be reimbursed
WORK SCHEDULE:
• Various dates and times after school and/or on weekends. Schedules will be determined by need and availability. (Number of
hours per position may vary, but could be up 80 hours). September 8, 2010 – June 30, 2011

Service exceeding the number of hours specified in Chancellor’s Regulation C-175 governing per session activities requires
prior approval. The appropriate Per Session Supervisor must make the request via the Per Session Service System and receive
approval before the person can begin working in the activity. Failure to obtain a valid waiver may result in the withholding
of payment for hours worked beyond the maximum.
