1 Scope
This standard specifies the dimensions, tolerances, required characteristics and the mass of an electrical contact,
quadrax, size 8, pin, type D, crimp, class P.
It shall be used with EN3155-001.
The associated socket contacts are defined in ABS0974.
This contact is to be used with ABS0972 and ABS1503 cables.

3 Requirements

3.1 Configuration, dimensions, tolerances and mass


The configuration, dimensions and tolerances shall be in accordance with figures 1 and 2 and table 1.
Mass of the contact : 10 g max.
Dimensions apply after surface treatment.

3.2 Specific characteristics


Type D contacts are for application where contacts with a screening feature are requested and class P corresponds
to an operating temperature range from -65 °C to +125 °C.
The contact shall resist a short-term temperature between -65 °C to +200 °C.

3.3 Material
Material shall be in accordance with table 2.

3.4 Polarization key

3.4.1 Position: on shoulder

3.7 Tooling

3.7.1 Crimping tools


The use of crimping tools according to table 5 is mandatory.

3.7.2 Insertion/extraction tools


Conform to M81969/14-06 (MIL-I-81969/14C).

3.8 Tests
The tests shall be in accordance with table 6.
Maximum attenuation of the cable and of the contacts at 25 °C shall be in accordance with table 7.
Minimum Near End Cross talk loss of the cable and contacts shall be in accordance with table 8.
Transfer impedance shall be in accordance with table 9.

The attenuation shall be also verified at temperature -55 °C, +70 °C, +125 °C.

Conditioning :
The contacts are packaged and identified individually. Conditioning shall provide protection of the contacts against
any eventual damage.

Packaging shall include :


- The manufacturer's name,
- The designation defined in § 4,
- The manufacturer's reference,
- The manufacturing date code (year, week).
